  • Here we tell a little about Penta's history, her reconstruction, her systems and do a walk thru. It is not heavy on detail, just an introduction. I am not equipped with the knowledge of her history in detail and the details of her conversions are not documented. I do know the basics and I cover them in the video. We see her basic systems at the helm, her engine room, berths, galley, settee and head.
There is some footage and information from the haul out we did shortly after taking possession and transiting across the Strait of Georgia. The first time running Penta was a solo trip from the Sydney area, north to Porlier Pass and across the Strait to the south arm of the Fraser River and inland to just shy of the Alex Fraser Bridge. Once there we awaited our turn to be lifted to dry land for some attention to her hull. I might try and do a more detailed video of Penta's construction, history of conversions and some details about the equipment and systems aboard, but at this time I don't have the appropriate video equipment, skills nor frankly the knowledge to do it justice. Maybe as my skills and equipment improve I will have collected enough knowledge about Penta to make a worthy attempt.
Thanks for watching, if you enjoyed the video or simply want to help the channel out, leave a like, subscribe and post a comment, it all helps to get more exposure for the channel.
At this time we do not have aspirations of monetizing the channel, but the growth of the channel does help me to stay motivated to put the hours in to recording, reviewing, planning and then editing the videos. It is more effort than I expected and I assumed it would be difficult, but it is considerably more than anticipated, that being said, I still enjoy the process and sharing our adventures.
A little about Rick and Anna. We are from south eastern Ontario, born and raised there. We married in 1997, have two awesome kids Aidan and Julianna. Our kids ended up in Western Canada and that gave us the freedom to go west as well. We came out for a Grown Up Gap Year and here we still are after 2.5 years. We travelled out in a converted school bus, worked at a mountain ski resort, ended up working in the Yukon and the Northwest Territories for two summers (which was awesome), drove back to Ontario a couple times, had a detour to New Mexico, Arizona, California and up the west coast back to British Columbia. It was after that detour that we ended up owning a sailboat and after some work, we moved aboard. A year later we decided to stay in the area and work more normal jobs, which meant we needed a different living space, and this is how we ended up owning Penta. There were a number of great trips, adventures and misadventures along the way and more to come I am sure. We decided to begin documenting our experiences in video so that we could share with family and friends, in response to requests for more videos after we shared a few on FaceBook. It took over a year to get everyone on board (meaning Anna) with the idea of making videos for UA-cam, or even just making videos period. Now I am striving to make weekly uploads to share with family and friends back east and some new viewers have joined along the way (thanks to all of you that have subscribed and watch the episodes, especially the few that watch till the end!)
Thanks for coming along with us as
Rick and Anna Adventure. What's Next?

Thanks for the tour of Penta. Nice bit of living space in the main cabin area and that engine bay is neat and tidy. Cheers, T

Thanks, we are enjoying the living space and I love the classic fishing boat looks. Engine rom and some other areas could use some storage organization and anchor points. Hopefully soon I will manage to tackle those.
