    I would like to have just the shell, but the pusher mec should be included. Doesn’t has to be pre installed, just in the box. I would definitely pick one up, if the tripple stage flywheelcage wasn’t in it. Select fire would also be very cool. And please, do the shell in red, so you could run this as your primary and your Limited Edition hurricane as your secondary. That would be so nice.

    Since I'm probably going to end up changing the cage, wheels and motors myself it would be nice if it just came without those components. It would save a bunch of money and the time to remove the existing components. Still super exciting to see this kind of thing available, between Worker and Dart Zone I think our hobby is going in a great direction.

    I think out of the box ready blasters is important for the growth of the hobby. Look at other skirmish sports and you don't have to build it yourself to go play. While the performance doesn't match home made flywheel blasters, it does match say, the Nexus Pro which is another ready to go out of the box blaster.

    I think a shell that can be sold but having pre soldered cage, motor, switch. And pusher and dial. You would buy the kit and install it on a shell. You would buy a battery later. There maybe could be different kits with different motor combos with 1 stage and 2 stage and different battery connectors of that is applicable. I think that could be cool. A diy-ish blaster that allows people to build it while not soldering things. It could save people money from customization of motors and shells.

    That intro music was fitting for a space launch! I also love how you put your logo on the dart when it came out, I had to rewind to see what it was. The shell design is a little odd and I think it may need a proper overhaul if I were to run it. Selling just the shells would be a good idea as modders will be able to put wherever they want, that fits, in it. I don't think I would buy this blaster but it is a neat concept that I hope will lead to something brilliant. Thanks Luka and Perry, keep up the amazing work! 💙💜🧡

    I think you called it with the 3 stage, the pdw/run n gun usage. I would consider it however I feel that at that price point its going be a factor given I own a 3d printer. It's like the Hurricane in that it works out of the box but the selling point is the customisation of it. Personally I'm impressed with the Hurricane and I feel that the phoenix is appealing to modders like the prophecy/swordfish do but just that little bit more accessible. I play in larger outdoor areas and one of the team has one of these I suspect he will make springer guys like me work hard for our tags this Sunday. Great review as usual.

      Agreed. Worker needs to continue their recent practice of offering both complete blasters/full kits and bare shells that only have the trigger/catch/pusher included. After all, some if us are married and can get away with dropping 30, 40, 50 bucks at a time for Big boy toys but would get a stern Ah hell nah nah if we tried a "Honey, I'm about to drop 150 on a blaster plus another 75 in mod parts for it, OK?"

  • @ShadowDaPk
    @ShadowDaPk 2 роки тому +1

    It does seem to fit the "role" suggested by the form factor, minus the "slow" ROF. It doesn't fire rounds with the same velocity, it doesn't have as much ranged accuracy, but it is fully auto.

    • @SpencerPaire
      @SpencerPaire 3 роки тому +6

      I totally get that, especially if you run mostly carbines. But for pistols, angled mags are awesome. Right-angle handles on pistols and through-the-handle SMGs suck for ergonomics, but the alternative is to have some mechanic for straightening the dart as it enters the flywheels. This adds complexity and space if it's present and kills accuracy and/or reliability when it's not. Having the darts enter angled from the word go helps a lot with this

      Fast forward to the current part of 2021 and now there are a couple of fairly compelling community-designed pistols, with more certainly to come. I want an Ehdrien Gecko, but to feed it, I am definitely going to need angled talons and the fact that Worker even sells the short angled Talons through Foamblast and OOD is great from both a logistics and durability standpoint. The printed mags for the Gecko, while customizable, are expensive if purchased fully assembled.

    I'm not a fan of this thing but can see it'll be super fun to use. I also think it's good worker have gone for a "realsteel" look but it's still obiously a "toy" with "reelsteel" influences. I know a lot of people are a little worried about the gel blaster companies that are moving to foam blasters doing shells that are too realistic and causing legal problems. I hope that they go the same way as worker with more "syfy", slightly chunky, cartoony look rather than a fully realistic firearm look.

If you build a 200fps+ blaster with their parts and hurt someone, that's you, but with their pre-built blaster, they could be sued.

  • @SpencerPaire
    @SpencerPaire 3 роки тому +1

    I've not read into the deep lore on the motors, wheels and cage geometry of this blaster, but I have a theory from what little I can see from here. Obviously, the image of a big honkin' 3-stage is a big part of it. But also, using three stages with low crush probably made it a lot easier to get cheap motors and wheels to a "higher" FPS. Less crush means less stress on the system, which means lower torque motors and looser tolerances on the FWs. Also, with three stages stacked up, even bargain-bin motors can get up to a decent FPS. And, again with that low crush, low torque motors don't sag when they're shooting at a higher ROF.
    And from my standpoint, it's actually a great modding decision; a savy modder can just pull out the third stage and replace one or two of the remainder with better kit, then fill the gap with more barrel.
    Overall, I'm not sure it's worth $150, even assembled as it is (though that does sweeten the pot a lot.) But it looks like an awesome platform to start with that gives the modder a very high ceiling to shoot for.

    at 1:12 can you see a rival drum mag toward the bottom left side?

    As a layman who doesn't know how to rewire blasters, I think this missed the mark for a few reasons. I don't want to buy a blaster with so many parts (triple stage) that could fail. With no personal ability to replace them myself and Worker being overseas, what happens when one of those motors fails? I'll stick to products by OOD and other US designers that can provide support to those of us that aren't electronic wizards.

    Honestly the 3-stage confuses me a lot with this. I understand in terms of passing safety regulations and so on it would probably be a bad idea to ship it at higher velocities, and I understand worker would want people to know it can easily take 3 stages. However I can't help but feel they'd have been better off making it one-stage at close to 150fps and offering 2-stage and 3-stage kits for it from day one.
    That fire rate is also pretty subpar ngl, esp with it being adjustable

    Okay, I’ve been giving this a lot of thought, and now I have probably overthought it. Here it goes. After watching this video I think the Phoenix is marketed and designed very poorly. The $149 price is very well balanced for the amount of tech/performance your getting, but the blaster doesn’t hit any of the major marks in the hobby.
    Firstly, it is underperforming for a multistage flywheeler. It should be hitting 200FPS easily with 3 sets of wheels. Therefore a performance based Nerfer will need to rip it apart and redo the internals. Making it a $149 shell - no good
    Secondly, out of the box it is averaging 150FPS which is above the cap limits for HvZ players. Therefore an HvZ Nerfer will need to rip it apart and redo the internals - not good
    Lastly it is so I accurate that if you take it to a club war you will either get sniped by a more accurate springer or mag dumped by someone with a more tunes up Flywheeler
    So for me this is a real miss for Worker. They didn’t hear their product towards a specific demographic and landed in the middle. Anyone that has ever done high end sales will tell you - never aim for the middle, always try and over-perform. The only way for Worker to make this right for the two largest communities is to sell it is parts - Shell, Pusher, flywheels
    Sorry for the long ramble. Like I said I might have overthought this one

      Well thought out! Let's hope that shells are an option at a lower price point. The Brick-with-a-Grip has plenty of room for mods if we could only have the shells... - Perry

    Just a follow-up - did you guys end up dropping in a new pusher motor? If so, how did it go? I'm thinking of picking one of these up and dropping a Rhino 130 in place of the pusher, hoping to get that top fire rate up around 15 darts a second. For an 'out of the box' blaster that max fire rate definitely needs improvement

    Marketing Gimmick
    I suspect that they aren't even varying the speed/crush between each stage to take advantage of increasing momentum as the dart goes through each one...
