As the Philharmonic was preparing to release a Christ-centered Christmas album, we really wanted to find a way to connect our classical roots to the message of the Son of God. Schubert's Ave Maria is one of the most celebrated tributes to Christ's birth and Mary in all of musical history. Marshall McDonald brought a lush, current sound to the two hundred year old composition and the amazing Lexi Walker did the rest. The audio and video are all students who were 14 to 18 at the time we recorded. These youth choose to spend their discretionary time, talent, and resources making music that inspires. Music that has the potential to reach others and help them see the good in the world, in themselves, and lead people to Jesus Christ.

saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed
at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the

it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with

54 Now
the fifteenth day of the month Casleu, in the hundred forty and fifth
year, they set up the abomination of desolation upon the altar, and
builded idol altars throughout the cities of Juda on every side;
55 And
burnt incense at the doors of their houses, and in the streets.
56 And
when they had rent in pieces the books of the law which they found, they
burnt them with fire.
57 And
whosoever was found with any the book of the testament, or if any
committed to the law, the king's commandment was, that they should put
him to death.
58 Thus did they by their authority unto the Israelites
every month, to as many as were found in the cities.
59 Now the five and
twentieth day of the month they did sacrifice upon the idol altar, which
was upon the altar of God.
60 At which time according to the commandment
they put to death certain women, that had caused their children to be
circumcised.
61 And they hanged the infants about their necks, and rifled
their houses, and slew them that had circumcised them.
62 Howbeit many
in Israel were fully resolved and confirmed in themselves not to eat any
unclean thing.
63 Wherefore
the rather to die, that they might not be defiled with meats, and that
they might not profane the holy covenant: so then they died.
64 And there
was very great wrath upon Israel.
