Man working for Dharma productions is going to name Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt name.
I think he's referring to Rani in that actresses roundtable with DP, Anushka. You could sense the tension throughout that interview between them. Rani was behaving like a looney ngl. She was cutting everybody off, counter attacking another actresses answer & giving her own unwanted input. She was good back in the days, but now she acts very entitled.
Hrithik Roshan wanted to cut his interview coz of stammering part. Hrithik is a big drama queen

sometimes your questions to him were quite uncomfortable for him and for us to watch, no harm in asking candid stuff but he's a senior journalist. He handled them like such a pro! Maybe avoid the crassness next time

I like Alia as a person but please she is way too overrated especially when Masand makes it look like she is the only one! I have seen so much potential in Mrunal Thakur, Yami Gautam, Tripti Dimri, and recently Sharvari for that matter but they aren't promoted or given that kind of stardom simply because they don't fall in the brackets of DHARMA. After Gangubai we saw her in RRKPK and she sounds like an extended version of Gangubai. And no flake to her I'm sure she needs that fame and promotion to build her empire but nevertheless such ppwer concentration is biased! Recently Johar tried to emphasize how star kids draw audience and that in the end his production is business and it needs to thrive...accepted!
But these star kids are given the hype because of constant PR games nothing else. Does the audience know that media gets paid for this? That PR campaigns is a real business with contracts and carefully crafted themes/functions?
There is covert marketing strategies employed to only make us view certain content and hear certain names repeatedly!
Having no flops because someone has carefully crafted a career path for Alia doesn't make her star. A star is born out of their own choices of failures and successes. Even Aishwarya in an interview pointed this out how Alia being backed by Karan is a huge blessing for her and rightly so he loves her like a daughter but come on!! And if you noticed he only backs those stars who have have celebrity parent if not who has a rich and influential family background like Kiara.
I vouch for fair field to play! More healthy and fair production houses to emerge and give raw talent the chance to prove themselves with outstanding media coverage.

@Capucha01733 I never said PR work is wrong, nor did I say that Yami Gautam is not a good actress. In fact, I acknowledge her talent. My point is that concentrated PR efforts can be biased and unfair. Before Yami met her husband, she wasn't getting the roles she deserved. It's her destiny that her husband owns a production house, but not everyone has that kind of advantage. I'm advocating for a fair ground where everyone can showcase their talent, not just a select few.
There are many factors at play, including age. Alia Bhatt got her break at 17, and while her acting in "Student of the Year" wasn't great, it was her debut film. But right after, she got to work with Imtiaz Ali. My question is, why only her? You're right that everyone has their own privilege. Many actors, like Mrunal Thakur, say they wouldn't have had it any different because their experiences taught them a lot. However, Mrunal is one who crossed the threshold, but many others remain unnoticed despite their talent and hard work.
Can we simply attribute this to brand and marketing? Just like a hardworking person deserves to succeed in their exams and secure a good profession, a genuinely skilled actor deserves the same chance and support that any celebrity kid gets so easily.

This includes films in various languages, such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and others. Annually, around 300 to 400 Hindi movies are produced in India. This number can vary slightly from year to year but generally falls within this range.
So, you are saying that given the fact that so many movies are produced annually, the investors are not capable enough to bank on a newcomer when a few other production houses have done so, but Johar doesn't tend to do so often? We can't just talk about a select fewto debate; I am talking about the larger statistics at play.
As for Imtiaz Ali banking on Alia, everyone who watched SOTY knew her acting wasn't great, Imtiaz included. Then why was she given a role right away with no audition? Nobody knew the star kid; social media wasn't so prominent back then. The reason why he chose her was clear. Imtiaz has a very good bond with the Bhatts. In fact, there is an incident where Mahesh Bhat himself pointed out how he corrected Alia to be nice to Imtiaz on a home visit, or else he wouldn't cast her in his movies (just a joke that he narrated but drives the point of how close they are).
Randeep Hooda was cast as a lead and is still struggling. In many interviews, he spoke about days when he didn't even have anything. My point is, like how Rajkumar Rao is cast alongside Jhanvi to back her up, many potentially good actors are cast next to star kids to give them a leverage. Yet again, let me drive the point home. Let's take a potentially good startup-are you saying that no VC will invest in it just because it's not known? They will take the risk; business is about taking risks!
If Kriti chose Kajol for her movie and made some creative choices, can I judge her on one movie? But Johar has been categorically casting star kids, and it's something he needs to address. Even in the recent movie "Kill," the actors claimed how they weren't even marketing their movie and thank God it did well though. My point is, being a Dharma movie, why didn't Karan market it? Why weren't PR campaigns run like he did for "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani"? Being part of being Dharma production is one thing (give to the fact that they get the worst script Bad newzz like seriously? or side roles like giving Mrunal a role in his small series) and only recently we can see a slight shift in Karan's approach. Maybe we talking about this is getting to these big production houses after all
Let's say we even forget Johar; why isn't there a quota of sorts to give at least two films to an outsider from the number of movies they make each year? Only then we won't have Masand saying he finds only Alia to be at the top, and while Kangana was mentioned, she was unofficially sidelined. Don't you think instead of justifying this we should call this out so that more youngsters are filled with hope to try and make it big...how it pitiful is it that creative arts is not so creative after all and everyone is adamant to rationalize it. Imagine what will happen if only a doctor's kid gets a chance to become one only because he or she is a famous doctor's kid and is not selected on the merit of being tested fairly ... I hope you understand my point.
Kangana is the best actress, nobody else is that good. But he has to take some names to keep friendships in the industry.

Please. DP's acting skills were so terrible that even her voice was dubbed in Om Shanti Om. Farah Khan has spoken about it openly. DP has improved a lot but she is far from a spectacular actor. Apart from Piku and Chhappak, she has mostly given mediocre performances. She has a long way to go.

Why are you beating around the bush. Just ask him directly why he ruined Sushant's career by writing malicious blinds. Let him accept or deny whatever was written about Sushant. He downplayed his success in every single blind item. Called him a skirt chaser and a Me Too accused even though Sanjana Sanghi denied making any accusations against him.
It's a shame that you call him a good human after he harassed outsiders and was on the payroll of Karan Johar all these years in disguise of being a Journalist.
