  • Hey guys! Back for another video, this time talking about a common question among quad cortex users. How to power the Quad Cortex with the Cioks DC7. To power the Quad Cortex with the DC7 you need one of two, either 3 parallel flex adapters to sum 4 channels into 1 or using the Cioks Crux to power it. The Quad Cortex needs 2000mA at 12V to be able to run, and of course, upgrading the power supply to something like a Dc7 or Powermax is a great way to make it even better!

yeah I had the same issue but I wanted to run a hybrid rig with my 5150 and QC, I ended up finding a stand alone power brick that offers DC power out with a variable voltage / amperage selector. This lets me reserve 12v with up to 3A service to the QC while allowing me to power a few other pedals without the requirement to connect a power cable while I am out playing. The only power connection I require is for the amp head - everything runs off a dedicated battery backup that is underneath my board. The power bank I am using is the Sharge 100 which has a 26k Milliamp hour rating, which lets me play for over 5+ hours with my entire pedal board, recharges in under an hour with my MacBook power brick and a USB c cable provided, and it cost me less than the other stand alone power supply options around $200. I've been using it at all my rehearsals for around 7 months now and its held up great. BUT I don't like that it isn't any more quiet than the included power brick... so I might just break down and get the Choix version with the crux and just call it a day.

Thanks Javi! That’s their gray color that’s available. It’s a fantastic color for sure.

3:54 the QC requires 3A, and I know everybody uses 4 outlets from the DC7, and everything seems to work fine, but I just don’t understand how 2000 mA is suitable?

The actual current draw is 1.8A - taken from Neural directly!

Nice video thank you very much, I also have quite some ground noise at times, I would need a grounded power supply, but I also don’t need to power any other pedal, only the QC. Any recommendations?

Sure thing! Probably the IFi- but it’ll be pretty expensive for just one where you can get the new walrus audio HP or the cioks sol with the 3 flex adapters

I’ve got the temple board dual xlr module- it comes with 2 xlr female to trs male connector cables that plug into the trs female of the module and comes out xlr male. Essentially it still comes out as xlr from my board, just gives me some flexibility
