Pistols both autos and revolvers are factory zeroed to a certain bullet weight usually at seven yards. Light for caliber will print lower than heavy for caliber. Try some 158gr. and you will probably get a better result. I think 158gr. are usually standard for .38Spl. If you want to use light for caliber then you will just have to use a hold over to make sight adjustment or change out the front sight with a lower one or just lower the front sight with a file.
Glad to know it’s not just me then! I was pretty inconsistent with a 709 slim and when I started looking that up I wasn’t the only one having issues with that either.

@@AllSoWavyReese I recorded for another .38 the same day, still working on it, and it shot completely different.
@@Tackdrivers i was running plus p and it was off then wen i used range ammo it was more consistent but not plus p
