For quite a few years now, we've heard the offense, particularly when the offense is not doing well which has been frequent, explained with the excuse that we are taking what the defense is giving us. Here's a novel concept... How about taking the incentive and making the defense react to the offense by scheming your best players open and then letting them make plays! Maybe the Steelers just got used to plays breaking down and then Ben and Antonio Brown doing their thing that they seem to have forgotten how to do it when they don't have someone like those two. Pickens is the first receiver in years that they are actually letting make plays, but once he's out, it doesn't happen with anyone else.

Honestly the best thing that could happen at season’s end (after a long playoff run) is both Smith and Austin (I know Tomlin is still the dedacto DC…) get picked for Head coaching jobs and the Steelers hire two elite coordinators who are allowed to fully run their side of the both (and Coach T can focus on being a leader of men and clock management 🤣)… I’d love to see what this team could actually do with amazing coaching and not be hindered by it

This topic about pat friermuth is really old. We all agree, but i think spreading the ball thru everyone and throwing on more 1st downs, and keeping the 3rd downs really manageable is the key. And ever since G P has gone down, we seem to have stalled out on offense. If we target pat, 10 to 15 times doesn't guarantee victory. Turnovers, and letting teams drive 90+ yards on drives is more of the problem.

Is Tomlin having to much input in offense? Is Smith really this bad? Smith has improved so much that I really thought we would and could be so much better.
