    Hey, it's Tuesday Tech Time!!!!
You have probably seen "Race Timer" listed under ECU functions. But what exactly is it, how does it work, and, most importantly, how can it help you win races?

OK I'm not a tuner and leave tuning to turners.. But I do take an interest in new tech. I've just upgraded from a ViPec to an elite 2500 for a Rally car. What is the difference between launch control and race timer? I'm guessing for dirt there would be value in using both on a RWD Turboed car running a sequential gearbox?

Is this only available on the 2500T or with the torque management module addition? Sounds like I could do with it to stop my car spinning in the first 3 gears! I use a Haltech Elite 2000 but could not find race timer in the ESP menus.

It's available on Elite 1500, 2500, 2500T and VMS and VMST

Could it be used in circut racing based on steering angle or maybe suspension tarvel. As as you come out of a corner the boost starts to increase sort of like a traction control.

The Race Timer can be trigger based on any event the ECU detects, so if you have a G-meter you could trigger the timer to activate at a particular G-force then map a torque reduction strategy based on that condition. The trick is to find a consistent event to trigger against. Hope this helps:)

As usual you are delivering 100% on the tech content... We do however... still see a noticeable lack of girls in, uhm, "appropriate summer attire".. and everyone knows that pretty girls make race cars go faster!
