- Hello Everyone,
Several subscribers asked me to create a video about Mechanism in CATIA 3DExperience, so this is the topic in that new tutorial!!! You will learn how to assemble parts together using engineering connections and then you will learn how to animate a mechanism.
The assemble is a Double Cardan mounted on a gear and a prismatic. You will see how to create these engineering connections and add a command to control them.
After the assembly phase, you will create a mechanism and manually move the different commands.
Finally, you will create a mechanism simulation and link different motors to the command. Once the simulation is run, you can replay the animation and generate some plot, traces and swept volumes of parts.

Hi there, I am trying to do gear connection (just two simples gears) and I did everything like you (ofcourse by analogy). The problem is, gears are turning in the same direction, clockwise, but it should have turned clockwise and counterclockwise. How to achieve it? Ofcourse I am not able to play simulation, I just simply use the mechanism player to see how it works. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Hello, when I do weight definition some of the partbodies are not showing option for defining.
They are still in red colour and the simulation cannot start due to inertia error.
But for you the part are partially defined the weight automatically. How?
Do I have to change any settings
How can we define a sensor to check a movement in the created mechanism? So that, for example, the mechanism stops and reacts after reaching a point
Hi sir nice video.... I have one doubt....i want to simulate 6 cylinder circular engine in 3Dexp...I have given mechanism for one cylinder.... How do I copy Or circular array that mechanism for rest of the cyclinder? or I have to make mechanism for others also?

Hello Andrija, Thank you for your comment! I wish I could do a video on Dymola, but unfortunately I never used it and I have no customer using it neither. I have some video about it, but it is out of my league. I can still recommend you to join the CATIA SYSTEMS ENGINEERING community (4th block on this page www.3ds.com/products-services/catia/social/ ) and ask your question there. When you join, just say that you are interested by CATIA Dymola ;)

Hi Guillaume, as I mentionned in the other comment, trailmark is not an automatic function available out of the box with Drafting. You can do it manually or with marco I believe. You have this functionality in CATIA Composer. Regards, Maxime at PLM Technology
Hello, I am done all the steps shown in this video till 23:27, here for me clicking on the compute and generate results button does nothing.
I am assuming this is some license issue. Can you please let me know which licenses are required to perform all the features shown in this video.
Hello Ganesh, sorry for the late answer and thank you for your comment! I do not think it is a license issue. If you manage to open the app Mechanism System Experience, it should work. But make sure you do run 3Dexperience on admin mode and check if your firewall do not block 3DExperience. If you followed the video step by step everything should be ok. Bonjour j'ai bien suivi votre vidéo, cependant j'aimerais savoir si il serait possible de créer un scénario à partir d'un schéma cinématique. Car lorsque j'essai de répéter ce que vous faite dans la vidéo, j'ai un message d'erreur me disant qu'il n'y pas de masse d'inertie, ce qui est logique mais j'aimerais savoir si vous auriez une idée pour remédier à ce problème.
Par ailleurs je suis en pleine formation, et le but de mon projet est de représenter la remonter de deux vérins indépendant l'un de l'autre et cela à un certain intervalle de temps. Toute les liaison sont faite est marche correctement mais pour ce qui est de la création du scénario c'est une autre histoire.
En espérant que vous pourriez un peu m'éclairer😅.

Hello maxim. First a wnat to thank you for you videos, they are very helpful and very good examples ;). In the simulation of the double cardan I have a problem, when I tray to run the simulation, an error apear, that error says "Invalid inertia detectedon leaf of the gaph constrains", (similar like you, but in yor case they are only warnings) I follow your process (by analogy), but that error apear, I tray to find the mistake, but I cuold not find where the inertia have to be defined. can you help me?

J'ai un problème lorsque j'essaie de générer les commandes à partir du gestionnaire de mécanisme dans la partie Mechanical System Design.
Je ne comprend pas, j'ai bien mis toutes les contraintes avec une partie fixe pendant l'assemblage mais il me donne un nombre aberrant de degrés de liberté (89). Aurais-tu une idée de la provenance du problème ?

Hello Yannick, There is very little to show in Generative Shape Develop, it is mostly Generative Shape Design with few extra features. Most important one is develop shape that is working exactly like develop in Sheet Metal. I will see in the future if I will do one video for it ;)
Hello Maxime. I know this isn't really relevant to this video itself, but you seem to be a great person to ask - when I save an assembly, why in V6/3DEXPERIENCE are visual elements (hide/show status; assembly-level colouring of parts) not saved? i.e. when I hide all but one part, save the model and close V6, then when I reopen it, all parts are showing? This seems really strange, as it was just how things worked in V5: if you saved with parts hidden, they'd stay hidden when you re-open the model. I cannot make sense of why this behaviour was removed?!
Instead of hiding the product or part, try hiding the individual body, planes and geometrical sets of every part body(define the particular body). Then it'll work same even after reopening

Correct Vishal! Thank you for your comment. It is a Kinematic Simulation. but at the end the result I was looking for was the animation of this mechanism :)
