Highly recommend the Inesis golf shoes.
You really need to order on line, I use the Inesis 500 irons, which are fine, they simply lifted from the i500 Pings. Fell fine , play fine. Balls are very good Inesis 500, or 900 balls i would put against any ball in the same spec. Distance100 balls play fine too.
I’m currently a 14.6 handicap and using the Slazenger v300 soft ball yes the spin around the green isn’t great but I just adapted to let it roll out to the pin can’t beat 36p a ball I’d rather use cheap balls and spend the saved money on lessons

They are not bad too I play off 20 and hit them fine no point paying more for me

Re clothes: I went to the "running" section of Decathlon, got a mint hoodie for little bucks. Breathable, stretchy fabric, perfect for golf, use it all the time. The soccer section unfortunately did not have rubbered turf shoes, but if you want inexpensive grass gripping "golf" shoes - artificial grass soccer shoes are a trick - water resistant too!

Had a really hard time getting an affordable lob wedge the last few weeks to complete my club set as a beginning golf player. Couldn't even find a reasonable priced one that was used. Kinda the bane of a left handed player. Then I stumbled up on decathlon and they actually had a lob wedge for not even 50€. No clue how usable it is but it arrived today and actually looks and feels kinda good. Going to the driving range on Friday and will try it out for the first time.
I use the Inesis distance 100 ball from Decathlon. 50p a ball (used to be 4.99 a dozen). Plays about as well as any other premium ball i have tried. Well worth a go.
I shot my best round last year with the £5.99 Inesis (gross 82)

Played 2 rounds on holiday with these balls but paid 4.99€ in France . Balls seems okay to me.
I've head the distance laser is all but as good as a bushnell
I have used the Inesis 500 and 900 and they are both decent balls at an affordable price. I have bought some Kirkland Signature to try and will let you know how I get on. Everybody seems to bang on about Kirkland so I am curious about how they perform. I played Srixon Soft feel for a few years and got on with them pretty well. The 900 tour performs better and I do not mind the extra cost as I do not lose that many balls. Good vid - hope you manage to pick up the irons as I am seriously considering them.
I'd never heard of Inesis till I ended up in decathlon randomly last year and bought a trolley lol. It's pretty much exactly the same as any other big brand trolley, but it was 90 quid! I love it.
I've been using the Inesis 500 in bright matte orange for 18 months now and I love them because they are so easy to find on the course which makes them even more economical! 👍
Going down the "stacked golf" route as those guys get some real bargains
They're in florida though, that's like prime spot for finding golf deals.

I've been using the Inesis Tour900 Golf Ball for a couple of years, great Ball PROV1 performance at 1/2 the Price!
I also use their mid-range Glove, it's the best combo of comfort, feel and durability that I have found👍

I have the inesis 100 driver and really like it! Very lofty (14 degrees!) but it’s great for a beginner (6 months in) like me! One thing I noticed is they come up really short. I did the ‘online fitting’ and got the longer version and still needed it extending by like 2.5 inches, and even then it is still a touch short. I’m 6’4 for reference
I have a pair of Decathlon golf trousers and they are great. A bit heavy for a really hot day but fine for most of the year in the UK. Also have a short sleeve and long sleeve polo shirt both of which I love, and way cheaper than traditional golf brands.
Great review of the balls and look forward to the review of the clubs. Golf kit is too expensive for many and puts people off playing. Cheaper equipment will allow more people to get involved and grow the sport again.
I actually prefer the feel of hitting cheaper, harder balls like Titleist TruFeel. I'm sure I'm giving up a ton of spin but it's not like I'm playing competitively.
Special offer in France last month: I bought 24 Inesis 500 balls for 17€. It must be 14 or 15£. Unbeatable as this ball is very good & feels great.
loving the content Simon. When you said the word pebble to describe a golf ball, I instantly thought of Top Flite. I actually remember breaking several clubs using those old top flites years ago, they were dreadful. Those beginner Inesis ones seemed like that in a way

I am really looking forward to the package set video. Good luck finding a bargain on one! Love these type of videos mostly because I just love a good deal and I really believe that package sets have gotten a lot better over the years too. I, just like everyone else, started playing a lot more last year and i bought a Callaway Strata package set to "upgrade" from my 30+ year old set of Tommy Armour 845s I played in high school and found them to be more forgiving and a little longer than my old clubs, so well worth it. I got them so I could shop around until I found a good deal on some newer higher end irons. Ended up getting a set of Callaway Xr Pro irons as my newer (5 year old) upgrade but still enjoy having the Strata set for a light carry/backup set.
I play Kirkland, Vice and Snell golf balls. Snell is quickly becoming my favorite.
This week I broke 100 for the first time ever. Self taught golfer but bloody love this angry game. I love them Wilson staff irons. Where can you get them? Fancy a challenge of getting me to hit 90? I'm your subject 🤣🤣. Great videos man.
I’m in Chicago, and usually find great deals on golf apparel at TJ Maxx/Marshall’s also the Nike and Adidas Factory/Outlet stores. Maybe try TK Maxx. It also looks like there’s a few Nike & Adidas Outlets in the UK as well.
Those Wilson Staffs look nice!! I use the 100 balls from Inesis they are okay but don't stop as good as some of the other balls of course!!

Ive bought a lot of my golf clothes from Decathlon, although I only order online. Its a very limited color palette but I dont mind it. I can really recommend the summer shoes. Best golf shoes Ive ever bought, although in Germany they are mostly out of stock, too

I purchased a pair of the summer shoes also over the winter (less than £40, free delivery). Started playing in them the past month or so. Have to agree, they are comfortable, lightweight, stay nice and cool and even (dare I say it) look not bad. I've always worn Ecco spikeless, which I love, but these are surprisingly good and great value of course 👍

Shame about the stock but always appreciate your pragmatic opinion. Agree that at my level a pro V would be more stress than benefit to my game. It would be interesting to see what you think of the Decathlon fitting system with their golf club sizes once you get your hands on some clubs!
Just switched to the Kirkland good ball but cut up. Use to play the 500 distance hard ball but good value.

I have purchased the Inesis 500 and 900 golf balls here in Thailand. For the price, I think that they are very good. Shame none of them float.

As an 18 handicapper I was fed up of losing £20 worth of Pro V balls some days. I was motivated by your trip to Sports Direct and picked up some Slazenger *don't laugh at the back* V300 Soft at the ridiculous price of £20 for 48 balls. These are £3 more expensive than their basic Slazenger 100 ball, but feel really soft and I can't tell the difference between them and a premium ball at my level. I'm getting exactly the same distances with each club etc.
Moral of the story? Stop wasting your money on pro golf balls if your handicap is above 10..

Played tonight with the Costco glove and as good as new after 18 and no sweaty palm on a muggy evening, well worth it for anyone considering them. I've been using the kirkland balls for 6 months now and cannot pick fault Vs my usual Srixon Z Star.

Hey Simon, I have had terrible lucky recently. I got myself a 2nd hand mizuno driver off ebay a few weeks ago and the shaft snapped. However it is apparently more expensive for a new shaft and repair than what i had paid for it. I borrowed a friends driver and the exact same thing happened again! (On contact with the ball not chunking it or anything)
Do i just go brand new for the security of warranty or risk it with a cheap 2nd hand driver, hoping that was just terrible luck? (New player high handicapper, fairly fast swing)

If you're around Lille Max give the Decathlon in town a look around August got a black RBZ 3 wood that was brand new last year for €17. Their golf balls drop a good bit around then as well, the tour 900's were €20/dozen during a sale wish I'd bought a few dozen instead of just the one 😢.
