    Hello dear friends. I'm 53 now and haven't had a period in 2 years. I have a lot of the symptoms described, itchy eyes, insomnia, hot flushes, night sweats, thinning hair and so on. I've really tried to keep up a healthy eating and regular exercice program, it does help, as do over the counter menopause remedies to alleviate symptoms and a few other vitamins to give me a boost. But the message I would like to share is one of hope, I've actually never felt better....! I'm far more at peace with myself, my body, my sexuality NOW. I wear what I like (even skirts with splits, which I never did younger) cos I think why the hell not? I do have despite my efforts a little fat on my hips and my tummy, but I get compliments anyway. So I'm.not perfect. But I'm happy with that. Keep well, take care, believe. It'll be ok. ❤

    100% in agreement because I believe that your hormones have a huge impact on your overall health and when your hormones are diminished it’s like an open door for all those diseases.

    • @MNMMOMMA2
      @MNMMOMMA2 6 місяців тому +5

      The hormones are created in the brain, thyroid and adrenal glands, which ultimately control a majority of functions and regulate our health. All it takes is one or two hormones to end up having the health completely "off".
      I had a complete total hysterectomy at 29, but no one warned me how my health could ultimately plummet at a young age, especially finding out that I couldn't take hormones, after the fact! I didn't have a choice, but it sure would've been great to know, just so I could try preventative measures along the way. The more we know 🤷‍♀️

      This is why women have anxiety attacks. Manage your plate and put yourself at the top of the list because you have to take care of yourself if you want to live long and well. I started bio-identical hormone replacement therapy two years ago and feel great most of the time. Being retired also helps.. but I don't have a lot of pressures in my life. Not a big family, friends are few and far away. I do what I want, when I want. Give yourself a break. Being superwoman is crazy. Just be yourself. Let go of things that just aren't that important. Life is too short to spend time on tjings that don't really matter.

Two teenagers, 2 years between ages, start their period within 2 mon of each other , at the same time. Hormone central, you think? Supplement therapy has helped me tremendously. I researched and researched to get my answers, doctors did nothing with their excuses of not knowing what they were doing, all to get you in their office again. Just a vicious cycle, all to fill Their pockets with no light in sight. Blessings to all on your journey.

My children, my body and my mind have been thru he'll and back. His death pulled me out of remission and I've been dealing with the aftermath since 2008. After reading what you wrote and listening to her list, it occurred to me that maybe it wasn't just the lupus and coming out of remission. Maybe it was the beginning of menopause. I even mentioned perimenopause. Nobody would listen. About 5 months ago someone listened and I'm in HRT. My "lupus fog" is getting better, I have less anxiety. Wow, I'll have to ask my Dr about that!
      My mom is a breast cancer survivor, so I've never done the hormones. (She was actually a part of that class action law suit for getting cancer from it). I was given progesterone cream to try. Was supposed to insert 1" of the cream. Did it once & felt SO dizzy I never did it again!! I can not be dizzy. Im on bp meds & that scares me & is miserable!
      But when you said microdose...🤔

      I just started with what I think may be hot flashes...I don't know. Haven't had the monthly thing for about 5 years. My physician never addressed anything so I go through the day thinking I'm dying and want to take early retirement.
      I'm not looking forward to adding any of these things to my slow growing list.

      @@maryclairehavermd8473Why is nobody talking about diet?? I cut out carbs 6 years ago at the age of 42. At 46, my period began to trickle off, and I started to experience hot flashes. I noticed coffee exacerbated the hot flashes, so I quit drinking it, and the hot flashes stopped. I turned 48 yesterday, and I have been without a period for a year, and I feel fantastic. I am certain it is because I don't eat carbs. I'm talking a diet of meat and fat. I did this to alleviate bipolar symptoms (which it did wonderfully), but it also cleared up seasonal allergies, sleep issues, pms (while I was still getting my period), and the list goes on. I am a healthy weight for the first time in my life (I've always been waifishly thin), and have been able to put on muscle. I have no health issues, and I have no expectation of suffering from the long list of symptoms mentioned in this video. Thank you for listening.

    So many of these symptoms are thyroid/adrenal related. The adrenals kick in to help the thyroid so your thyroid tests will come back normal. Once the adrenals are tapped out, then the nails go from splitting to crumbling. It's miserable with all the other symptoms of aches, skin, brain fog, no energy, etc., depression also happens with a vit D deficiency. Get your Sun, walk, keep moving, take Omega 3s and stay away from Omega 6s, 6 causes inflammation. Eliminate nightshade foods because they cause inflammation. Tomatoes, white potatoes, peppers, walnuts, peanuts, eggplant, think vine plants. Also alcohol, caffeine, sugar, artificial sugars are toxic, carbs turn to sugar in the body. Sugar breaks down our collagen. Our bodies! Skin, everything! That leaves a massive amount of clean meats, grass fed, and veggies left. Cutting these few foods has helped me tremendously! This is a partial list but the biggest offenders. It's known now that Sugar causes Alzheimers, and dementia. FYI don't trust the FDA to protect you or your family. Be aware and your own advocate. Read books, and research papers, the Internet has been 'soiled' by those efforts to get clicks.

    Women go through Menopause, men go through a “midlife crisis” which is not a medical term, but men go through a period where their testosterone level fluctuates and then starts to drop, which has physical and psychological effects on us, and yet there has not been much research on this issue, and men are left to figure things out for themselves because of this.

    • @repentandturnfromsin

      Isn't a symptom of midlife crisis for men feeling the need to go out and buying a corvette? 🤣
      Totally kidding. I agree tho, not much is said about it. To the best of my knowledge (woman here), they mainly just want to keep and eye on your prostate health. Not sure side effects of reduction in testosterone or an unhealthy prostate. I've never had a personal experience of any man struggling during their mid life phase but then again it seems men don't express their personal concerns openly.

      But not everyone experiences changes equally. Some folk handle it better than others. I’ve had some of these symptoms and managed to deal with them without making a big deal of the situation and still am at 68. My sister in law on the other hand has had the worst acne imaginable since 55 and debilitating arthritis.. near impossible to just deal. IMHO the doctor is merely indicating how many symptoms that we could and often will experience. It’s a reality for most of us to varying degrees. Let’s embrace the menopause however we experience it.
