Superb video again ET, excellent camera work as usual! The age of some of those aircraft is remarkable - we tend to forget how long they've been around! Thanks for sharing! Keith
I am so glad that this video showed up on my playlist today... You got some remarkable shots of these spectacular military planes. Loved the close up of the landing gear folding in !!! Your camera work is superb my friend !!! We make components for some of these planes where I work at Honeywell Aerospace.
Hello after a very long time of not commenting. This is your worst nightmare from the States again, and I am so sorry for not making my usually sarcastic remarks for your videos. It seems as if this recovery from sepsis is taking much longer than I would desire, but slowly I am making progress and hope to become more interactive in the future. Aside from all of that, I do appreciate you bringing us plane-spotting fans some really great clips of these aircraft. Although you did not have an ideal vantage point from which to video, we all have to play the hand we are delt. Nevertheless, you still maintained your usual great work over that with which you were given. Among many thing that passed through my mind as I viewed your post was how well Air Forces are able to maintain these old aircraft. So many of them were built before most of your viewers were born, yet they still play a vitally active role in our defense. Especially if you look at the B-52; that thing is expected to keep an active role until 2050, almost 100 years after it had that “new car smell”! That gizmo is going to outlive me, but it would be fun if I live long enough to see your video of “The Last B-52 Takeoff” (as long as I am not in diapers). Ha… Ha!!! When it comes to talking about age, I can remember when the C-5 Galaxy first flew. My barracks window faced the departure path for aircraft taking off from Pope AFB, North Carolina. Those engines were so loud! There was no way to get any sleep at 1:00 AM when some brainiac decided it was time for a C-5 flight; and they did it all the time! But now, after modifications the thing is almost a whisper compared to what I experienced. What is that variant now, the “C-5Z”? Just kidding! Thank-you again for the video. Hopefully, I’ll be back soon. But if I am not able to make a timely comment, I will have still viewed your video and will comment when I can.
Hey man! Great to see you in the comments once again! Maybe slow, but thankfully everything is well. The vegetation is definitely a lot longer than in the winter / spring seasons. I'd much rather have the rotation shot than them lining up and rotating so far away in the haze. That B-52 sure is a stubborn one. Just won't die, and I'm thankful for that. So great to see they are going to be strapping modern engines on it. Haha, I hope and would be lucky to record the last departure by one. Whenever that might be. Man that's an epic core memory to have of the C5. Probably not in the moment at 1am but looking back now, sure is an awesome memory. Thanks for the comment and hope to see you here in the next videos. All the best and glad you enjoyed!
How did I miss one of your best videos? Incredible footage, I love the shots of the Aurora in the circuit.... and man, that B-52 takeoff was incredible!
the amount of smoke that B-52 generates is pretty insane, wonder why there is more smoke on takeoff than while its flying, when a B-52H did a flyover at AirVenture this year there was probably a fourth of the amount of smoke the B-52 in this video produced. great footage eye trapper! always love your videos!
For your takeoff question, more smoke is present during takeoff than flight because the aircraft doesn't fly with full thrust the entire flight. That would be my best guess anyways.
Glad you enjoyed the video! As the previous comment mentioned, more power is used on takeoff, resulting in more smoke compared to cruise where very little power is needed.
Excellent photography and lighting eye trapper...
Thank you!
It's a wonderful cinematography!!!
