Yes - my Guineas think I am their mum, as I raised them from chicks. They make this cry when I get home from work, at bedtime and at wake-up time. They roost in the tree outside my bedroom window. True love - true decibels.

Although he will answer back to the neighbor's guineas; he wants absolutely nothing to do with them. He can get extremely loud; but only if he gets mad. I don't mind though; he's a lovey dovey boy. He is about to be a year old May 23rd.
I love how noisy they are. I've seen them spot a deer or cat an acre away and do that. Deer usually just stand and listen but cats get the heck out of the stun range.
those are male calls. Females have 2 syllable calls which sound like "Buckwheat, Buckwheat " ( or as I think " "Come back come back come back"). The call was how I knew my Tiny was a boy.
I bet that owner hasn't had issues with Lyme Disease. Those birds eat ticks (including deer ticks) like those arachnids are potato chips. XD

They are indeed noisy but interesting birds. Their flight is a wonder to behold.
Whenever my Guinea hens run off, I play this video on my speaker to get them to come back and let me say it works like a charm ;)

I love my baby boy. He just turned 5 months old and is so loveable and loyal. He's a better guard dog than our dogs lol 😆 😂.
