It's a terribly underrated band. I always had immense love for Scotland, this band and it's songs just amplified it to such an extent that going and living in Scotland has become one of the biggest goals of my life. Oh Scotland, you're landscape, language, music, history, its just magnificent. It's gonna be an incomplete life without visiting you.
I love the old and new versions equally, but in different ways. I like how sad the original was, showing pain. I like how calming and peaceful the new version is. It's almost as if the original is in mourning, and the new version is of acceptance of the girl's loss.
Oh my gosh! Such a beautiful and moving song/video. What treasure you have brought to my life. Thank you so much Skipinnish! Blessings to you and your families always. 😊🤗
I loved the old version of the Song! Its one of this Songs you don't forget! The new version is in its own way not less heart moving than the old one! Thanks a lot for this unique tune! Keep going please! I would love to hear more like this und much more new songs in your own style!
I enjoy Robert's version, but this one really evokes more emotion to me. First time I heard it, I was left speechless. I now cry every time I hear this.
Like compared with say Siol Ghoraidh by Runrig just well I can't just cant think of any words to even describe it, simply incredible!!! Take great passion understanding or trying to at least Scottish history being that I'm a descendant of Clan Bruce think its incredible haha, thinking that about there is where Somerled was rather Sound of Mull or around that area of the sound where he with an army he brought together pushed the Vikings out of the Hebrides withou which likely Gaelic wouldn't have survived
@@kevkas Tide Lines is a brilliant band, Total depth clarity and resonance of Robert Robertson's voice would make any band. Norrie McIver sings from the back of his throat and through his nose :)
I should check that, rather could be like 's na horo eile (doesnt really mean anything more for evoking emotion in Gaelic) really wouldnt surprise me if it's Gáidhlig to be quite honest, but I don't know yet

I agree!
I love the incredible voice of Norrie.

Interesting how this version feels happier than the other version. Always cool to see how artists evolve with time.
just discovered this band..... I think they're great!! lovely arrangements on the songs!
Me too!

Love Scotland Love Ireland Love The Catholic Church
I love both versions, but this one always...ALWAYS.. makes me cry. That ending gets me. It’s so beautiful

I do not understand a thumbs down. Cool and clear performance, fresh, with grip.
I like both versions of the song. Love Roberts unique voice, but love the spin with this, especially the ending.
a good chill out choon, background for a refreshment or two!!sounds good to me guys :)
Great song guys, and a good voice.
love it!!!!!
I actually like this a lot more than I thought, not bad guys. :)
Love Angus's humbleness haha thinking when their popularity will be over, with all respect to Angus bollox will it they're a great band!
I miss Robert Robertson!😩😭😭
Did he leave the band or something? Oo
formed new band called Tide Lines. This is Norrie MacIver. He was part of Skipinnish before, was part of Manran, now back with Skipinnish.
Debra Tazz thanks Debra, I'll check the other band too, I really liked his voice and accent D:
Took me a few months to get to this again, but I just checked Tide Lines, thanks for the information Daya, the band sounds great I like it :)

What is the translation for the last part?
I should check that, rather could be like 's na horo eile (doesnt really mean anything more for evoking emotion in Gaelic) really wouldnt surprise me if it's Gáidhlig to be quite honest, but I don't know yet
Very Nice.
the opening scenic shot...where was it filmed?
Can anybody translate the Gaelic parts of the song towards the end?
Is this on itunes?
Irena Krasinska-Lobban yes
Serious
Quite lovely, but I too prefer the older version.
The Robert version of all of these songs will always be better not hating just saying
I agree! If you want Robert then go to tide lines, his new band!
Glitter Monkey Yeah I know I've met him I nearly had a break down!
poor show tbh old one is better 🖒
if andrew and angus never screwed the other lads in the band over then rob would still be lead singer
Not better, just different
It sounds like knock off Irish music
Are you actually retarded?
I don’t think you’ll find much cultural difference between the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and the country of Ireland.
