You can also do glossy on the top and matte on the bottom so you can see what it will look like either way.

Like shiny on the top layer and matte on the back of the swatch.

I just do a glossy topcoat on my swatches, but you can do one swatch of color and do half glossy and half matte if you want

Here’s a tip also, if you paint the underneath of the swatch stick you can see what it will look like with two coats all in one go.
