I'm in Zone 3 Regina and this presentation was awesome. So many great flowers that I have already started putting into my flower beds and so many more that I was on the fence about but now am going to be watching for when the garden centres start clearing out their perennials. Thank you for posting this
No matter how drought tolerant a plant is, you still have to water heavily the first year, until they are fully established and their root system is strong enough.
Lily of the valley is invasive! A pretty nightmare. I've grown hops but don't arch over a sitting area. Gets aphids which drop sticky residue. Great suggestion about the yarrow. Does it block weeds?Enjoyed the talk
Lily of the valley is an aggressive plant if grown in a prime location, be mindful of where it's planted. Yarrow will make take over and inhibit weeds. It too, can be consider aggressive, especially the native plant.
My apologies... Calling the Bigroot geranium Bigfoot... It is Geranium macrorrhizum (Bigroot), native to Alpine regions of Europe. You don't want big foot in your garden. Verne

Love this video. I have it saved and re-watch it frequently. There is so much to learn.
