    Alan also have the new bike, the only way I found Apple Carplay to work for me every time was too have the phone unlocked and connected via USB cable and the helmet turned on, then start the bike. After a moment you will see Apple Carplay working, the only issue I have still is how to answer a phone call ....

    • @alandeon
      @alandeon  3 дні тому

      Yeah, I first of all, removed the Sena Bluetooth headset from the phone as it was connecting to the phone first. Once I removed it from the phone it connected better
      Also, regarding the phone. I'm able to answer the phone but there is a 2-3 second delay in conversation. My wife had to call me to test it and found that there is an unnecessary delay in the conversation. It also happens with my UA-cam. When I glance down at the person speaking in the video I can tell the voice and mouth are out of since by a few seconds.....
      Not sure just yet how I'm going to resolve that...

    So I have the 2024 CAN-AM Sea to Sky model.. and I thank you for your video because I’ve been working with CAN-AM on this issue so I’m glad that I’m not the only one that has the same issue sometimes if I take two phone calls then my music stops playing and in order for me to get it back up, I have to pull over to the side and restart the motorcycle then we’re good to go and you’re right a lot of times when I turn on the bike it takes forever to connect when it should connect right away since it’s connected via cable, my Honda Accord connect right away and it’s wireless. From what I understand. Sena and vibe are basically the same system when I looked at the owners manual there is no number to call to try to get some help. I also upgraded my iPhone to the 16 Pro Max so I have the updated phone.

    • @alandeon
      @alandeon  3 дні тому

      Yeah. I updated my phone software and my Sena bluetooth software. The Spyder is only a month old so I'd think the software on that was updated before they gave me the keys but there are still numerous issues. I've detailed a few more of them in other replies.
      One of which is a 2-3 second delay on the phone when trying to talk to someone on the other line. Same with listening to videos on youtube while riding. If I look down at a stop light I can see there is a big delay in sync between voice and video.

    The headset should ONLY be connected to the bike. Car Play requires BOTH cable and BT connections. Ride the bike often and the “smartphone” will get smarter. BTY - You’re supposed to be using the left switch cluster to control the phone and dash. Wear gloves on both hands which is why you use the switch cluster. Playing with your phone while operating the bike can get noticed by LEO’s.

    Like your video. I am having some of the same problems as you with carplay on my 2024 Spyder RT L I do know that I have to connect the headset (SENA 50S ) first then the iphone 14, then connect the USB cable. Other wise they will never connect . What does NOT work is a phone call, or answer a call. Since the touch feater is disabled when the bike is moving, I would like to know what button to puch to answer or make a call

      @alandeon  3 дні тому

      I found that I could connect better once I removed the Sena connection totally from my iphone. Now it seems to connect a bit better since the headset doesn't try to connect to the phone first
      I've answered the phone but I didn't really pay attention to how. I think the last time I pushed in the jog button on the side of the SENA 50S.
      My wife's SENA 10s is still connected to the phone and to the Spyder so I think I'll remove her headset from my phone all together and see if that changes anything. I doubt it because when I get the calls it's usually from her and her unit is at home and not connected. But I'll remove it from the phone anyway to see if that changes anything

    Recent Spyder purchaser myself, my issue with CarPlay was solved by using devices that had a more recent version of Bluetooth. I had a very old iPhone that was way behind. I also always have phone unlocked when I first connect to the Spyder. I am not sure that is actually necessary or not though...

      Mine is a 13 pro with the most up to date software and I updated the software on the Sena bluetooth. I think one issue was that the headset was linked to the phone from when I had the old motorcycle and was causing one of the issues. Now that I deleted it from the phone it connects better (but still not perfect)

    Welcome to the Spyder community. I hear there was an issue with apple carplay from the start of the 2024 models, but thought they put out a software update to fix the issue! Probably need to go back to your dealership & get them to install it. Don’t have that issue with my 2022 RTL chrome model, but BRP go app sucks too so just my iPhone or gps for directions etc. Done lots of upgrades on mine too, mostly the lighting.
    Just be careful as there’s so many aftermarket parts out there you can soon rack up a large credit card bill!
    Ride safe, regards Stephen Alberta Canada.

      Yeah, I already ordered too many extras LOL
      I just got the bike 3 weeks ago from a dealer so I presumed the software is up to date.
      I just deleted everything and started fresh but still having issues.
      One new thing I did was delete the Sena bluetooth connection permanently from the phone so it won't try to connect to the phone first.
      Everything worked fine until I got a phone call. When the call was ended I couldn't get sound back again to the earpiece while listening to UA-cam. It would play over the speakers but stopped working in the headset. I had to stop, shut off the bike, and then restart and reconnect with the phone and headset. I'm going on a ride up north in the morning. I hope it doesn't give me too many issues but only time will tell

    Alan, I lost my original channel and I kept emailing back on their same email. I did that for 2 years, and I finally got it back! I was relentless lol But it was worth it.
    Go to the last email they sent you about it. On that same email, email back again. You may get it back still to this day.
    I've also heard that people have gotten hold of youtube on twitter and have gotten their channels back that way.

    Turn the key to your bike on first, then plug in your phone to the bike, then turn on your 5.2 headset, then start your bike.

      I think one issue is that I had the Sena headset linked to my phone before buying the new Can Am. Once I deleted that bluetooth contact things improved.
      I still have a software issue but it does connect to CarPlay now.
      my other issues are related to the unit itself. I've had several errors and issues.
      One was the radio went all staticy and I lost all radio channels. The noise was loud over the speakers while playing music that sounded like the cooling fan in overdrive but when I turned the volume down the noise went away. That happened on all stations and I thought that the antenna was the issue. I switched to music on my iphone and the sound returned to normal. Later, I went back to radio and it all sounded fine.
      I've also had the volume control stop working.
      I had a bluetooth defect error a few times also
      I had the system sort of lock up today on a long trip today, it played music but wouldn't go back to carplay (GPS) and all the lights on the bottom flashed every 10 seconds. That went away after I finally pulled over, turned off the bike, turned it back on and reconnected everything.
      I've had a phone call but once it was over the system wouldn't play the youtube video I was listening to on the headset anymore. It would play over speaker but not the headset.
      I've had the system not play sound through the headset several times. When I changed it to speakers the video audio would play but when I switched back to headset on the Spyder display I'd get no sound. Pain in the ass when your on the highway and can't pull over to reset the system again...
      I'm going to have to make a list of all my issues and email the service guys at the dealership to see what they recommend.

      The phone can be plugged into before or after the bike is on. There are no steps to it.

    So for me, it’s more like a 10 second lag just to let you know I did send your video to BRP. I am working directly with the executive team. My dealer in the United States got fired from me because they wouldn’t do anything so it’s good to know that you’re having the same issues that I’m having.. I don’t know if you’re having the same issues but if you do get to make a phone call and you make a few of them if you were listening to your audio, it will not play and you have to reboot the whole system. Thank you very much for your feedback. I’ll keep you posted

    • @alandeon
      @alandeon  3 дні тому

      sounds good. There are a few more issues telling me it's a Spyder software/hardware issue. I think I mentioned most of the issues in the comment section but I really need to compile them so Can Am know everything.
      I'm not sure if I mentioned that the volume control froze a few times. I couldn't increase or decrease the volume on the speakers even when seeing the display go to full volume then changing it to lowest volume. The music stayed the same mid volume (until I pulled over and rebooted the system).
      On the weekend, my speakers went fuzzy. I thought it was poor radio reception due to a faulty antenna as it was happening with all the channels (that was AFTER originally thinking it was the LOUD fan even being louder, until I reduced the volume and the screaming sound stopped). When I switched to Iphone music library, the sound was fine and later when I went back to FM radio it was good again.
      yeah, and the lag makes it very difficult to have a professional phone conversation while travelling...
      Losing my headset speakers after a phone call happened a few times also. So even though I was on the highway on a 1 hour commute I couldn't get my UA-cam podcast to play again pissing me off because I couldn't very well stop on the highway to reboot again and I needed to listen to that for a meeting I had the following day and the commute would have been the perfect time to get through it....

      oh, also on the same trip the system went wonky while driving. It was giving a flash to the display every 10 seconds ago, flashing the gauges and also flashing all the lights at the bottom (bluetooth, check engine, signals etc). It only stopped when I was able to pull over and reboot yet again....

      @@alandeon so I just got an email like I told you I have direct connection to BRP because of some of my issues I’ve had with my Spyder, but this is what they told me. The best results were obtained by only having the headset paired to the unit and the phone connected by USB through CarPlay I like to let the headset pair first then connect original Apple Card to my device and unlock it unfortunately, sometimes a reboot is the only solution for now to get access back to all the functionalities after a call there is a fix it is being worked on. Therefore, I work in progress is at the moment. There’s also a UA-cam videoand she gave me the information so I think if you go to UA-cam and type in Apple CarPlay Wi-Fi software installation. I’m watching it right now. I’ll keep you updated.

      I will look for that video when I have a chance and I did find that part of my issue went away when I removed the headset from the phone permanently the other issues not so much.
      My service guy wants to check for an update so I have to drive up there one day. problem is it’s an hour and a half from work and I’d have to take a day off. We will see.

      @@alandeon from what BRP told me they are aware of the issue and working on a fix so I think they already know about it. I snapped a picture of our communication and told them I’m in the US. He’s in Canada and he’s having the same issues. I’m having so it’s not just an isolated problem like I said I had an issue with my bike unrelated to this and I had a fire the dealer because they were worthless, and my last effort was to contact BRP which I did and they have been taking very good care of me so far but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that has that same issue. The only difference is I have about a 10 secsecond lag from the time I end my sentence to the time they hear me and then I’m already talking again and then I’m repeating on top of myself, which is very annoying.

      I know I'm having a software issue but at least now CarPlay is now connecting and it will be worth it if I resolve the issues.
      I had to remove my Headset from connecting to my phone and now it connects to the Spyder automatically which was probably half the problem

      Yeah, I removed the Sena headset from the phone and that improved things. I'm having other issues but hopefully I can get that resolved next.
      I'm still working on resolving issues. Once I get that, I can glove up both hands.
      Things are working better and I'm able to use the buttons much better now.
