I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you have to salute Station Inspectors as well, which is unlike SAF where you do not need to salute enciks. And that saluting/paying compliments rules apply across all the uniformed services...

Technically, "ASP" - Assistant Superintendent of Police, "DSP" - Deputy Superintendent of Police. Not sure why when reach "Supt", the Police disappears XD.
maybe cos AS NAME sounds weird and can be very confusing when writing, "As AS NAME mentioned before". Also easy to mock with "ASS NAME". Then DS just instantly makes me think of a nintendo DS, which again easy to mock. "Good morning DS Nintendo sir!"

I always found the unified rank structure damn stupid, they abolish CPL and make it an NS only thing makes sense but SSGT being removed never became justified in my eyes lmao Just do SGT1, SGT2 then SSGT SSS SI then onwards SSS is Senior Staff of what sia, no staff sergeant alr still wan become senior staff 😂
I just hope the criminals the police are detaining are not higher rank than them. I have seen police officers getting verbally abused by lowlifes and the pollice officers also have to give them things when they asked for it (water, food, etc) like they are the boss...
All police officers are officers regardless of rank. You have to call all police officers sir including Police constable. Police are very different from Armed forces, need to be intellectual.
