So by weight half the the weight of the fibre is used for the resin quantity but in practice slightly more resin is used and the excess is squeezed out under pressure during the curing process. It would require some experimentation as I would imagine natural fibres would be more absorbent than synthetic fibres but the above would serve as a rough starting point.
You can use the coir needle felt for sound absorption plate. It doesn't need to press tight, it's in fact better when not pressed. For easier installation, the coir needle felt plates should be glued to those pressed plates

Bruce Ryan I doubt it Bruce ., coir fibre has higher lignin content greater than teak wood. So the ply produced by coir is top quality wrt strength. I doubt the same with sisal or other fibres.

I am very much interested with this and I would like to know the complete information to start my own production of coir products.
