the thing is iranians are aware of the challenge and the power they are facing and know they are going to lose lots of lives yet they will defend iran no matter what, but to american wariors and their families as we have seen even the loss of one life is so davestating it is going to crash them. and even if a fraction of their soldiers get killed in this war it would have a huge impact on their moral and on the mental helth of american parents, families and citizens.

assoonas1, 1. no half way measures as to supporting our allies. Safetey lies in others believing we really will strike with vengeance if necessary. Take-off on MAD.
    2. Sometimes we are wrong in how we deal with others. But the fact that that they dislike us is an unstable barometer.

LOL. Funny that you guys bring up Makedon and Alexandros. My wife is from Makedon. I have a Star of Virgini tattooed on my shoulder. I am a Marine officer and the thought of walking in the footsteps of Megas Alexandros makes my blood hot. I rather like the idea of burning Tehran. Perhaps I shall sit in a garden near the Azadi Tower and read of the burning of Persepolis by Alexander.

'where will the planes take of from to bomb iran? '
good question and good point(if you mean Iran can lob missiles onto airbases in the area).
I do not know. Potentially cannon fodder fighters could be lauched from Israel as decoy, while B2s could launch quietly from one of the bases within strike range of iranian missiles. The Israelis could say one of their fighters slipped through(but the ordinance droped by B2?), but I really dont know

@sicker57 White phosporus munitions were used by Russian forces in Chechnya.during the December 1994 battle for Grozny in Chechnya, every fourth Russian artillery round fired was a white phosphorus round. Iran may have not used it yet but when there is a war with them in it they will you use their whole supply. U.S. forces have used phosphorus shells very sparingly in Fallujah, for illumination purposes. They were fired into the air to illuminate enemy positions at night not at enemy fighters.

Also dont forget that a lot of people around the world will be against the war, including many Americans, seeing the US military as the agressor, so Iran should also fight on the diplomatic battlefield of world opinion. If you can call for assistance from the world and for sanctions against the US, the governments of the world wont do anything but their population might put pressure, and it might be helpful after an attack to get aid in rebuilding

moos, The reality is that there needs to be a two state solution in the ME, despite the rhetoric on all sides. The rhetoric needs to die down and compromises to be made on both sides. Reality is that one of the components that is in the START of the peace process is recognition of Israel as a state and the cessation of those intent on it's destuction. Then meaningful talks can be had concerning land and refugees.

  • @AhazAlford
    @AhazAlford 15 років тому

Actually, we werent trying to get oil. We were trying to make sure Iraq didnt take other peoples oil. In the 1991 War Iraq invaded Kuwait and was preparing to invade Saudi Arabia. At that time they had the fourth largest military in the world, chemical weapons, and WMDs. If they had captured Saudi Arabia they would have 50% of the worlds oil. We didn't want that so we stopped them, but the UN wouldn't let us finish the job. So now we're finishing it. Just doing a terrible job.

It may be that it never comes to war. I might be wrong, but it seems that people in Iran are realizing that tehy made a terrible mistake with letting Khomeini in and want freedom from oppression.
As to the missiles, are you thinking that the US does not have the technology to send some bombs or missiles that would fry all electronics in the area? Pretty hard to fly a missile without electronics.

Because a nuclear armed Iran is not in the cards, the discussion should focus on judging what Iran's reaction will be and acting preemptively if needed. Of course, the goal is to live in peace if possible. But to sit on one's ass until it's too late to do anything is foolhardy.

I think Irans military is no match for a US Air campaing starting with stealth bombers and stealth cruise missiles to cripple ships, airports and communications hubs but can give them a very painfull stinging (like a bee). Vehicles are vulnerable since there's no jungle cover like vietnam.
Whats really detering ground invasion imo is potent infantry weapons such as RPGs, shoulder rockets, IDE and motars, that can hide from arial survailance and can be effective in gerrilla warfare

The way Persians dismiss people on here makes me aware that they are very far removed from their wonderful history. They now speak like, and sadly think like their current ruling leaders. They don't have the dignity of the history they boast of. They would not fit in with their previous culture with the aggression they display now

This is interesting. Great posturing by the Iranians. I think that they are acutely aware of the fact that this "force" wont help them if the Americans decide that Iran should end.
The funny part is that America can just decide that Iran doesn't need to exist anymore and they can just hit a button. And 30 minutes later Iran will not exist anymore.
Hopefully that never happens. In the meantime please spare us from horrible Arab rap. Its really bad. Get a black guy to do it please.

Within minutes the only goverment the population will turn on is the that of the aggressor and the population will make sure any attack is avenged completely and absolutely.

You really don't know what you're talking about.
What do you think is more difficult:
    1) Fighting people within a country that almost exactly resemble the inhabitants of that country, all while trying to save as many civilians as possible.
    2) Just fighting the country itself with no regard to the opposing civilian casualty count.
    I think its obvious.

  • @gurumagoo

    Look at this shit!!!
Here your English is fluid and well ordered. You make perfect us of Determiner-Adjective-Noun sentence order and the use of suffixes. You also wrote it in perfect tense.
"well every champion loses a fight. every civilization takes a hit and that's how they learn and become [w]is[e]r," You even used a fluency intimate superlative: "takes a hit". I've never seen or heard a foreigner who isn't fluent in English use such superlatives. Can you explain this?

Why can Pakistan, the US and Israel produce nuclear weapons and Iran, not. Come to think of it. That is because they are in ally with the US. Iran has taken its ground to be neutral and established its sovereignity over its industries particularly its oil fields and thus was subjected to every intimidation backed up by big companies who want to take a pie out of its resources. It's not about misunderstanding, mind you. Its all about greed. Defend your country man, I'm with you.

Would you please give me an example of American military intervention from the past decades that eventually ended up with absolute peace and democracy. A nation needs to pass several stages before developing democracy. And please, do not describe the US as democracy bearers around the world.
