would be useful to see a few fails to see how it goes wrong. last time I tried one I cracked the board against my ribs,
gets critical quick when you try foam hit 🎵

I have definitely had my fair share of sketchy fails. When it goes wrong theres no consistent thing that happens. It just becomes random foil turbulence that can throw you off in any way. Which is exactly why Id rather not fly the foil through the foam. Picking the right section is key too. Some foam is just way better not messed with haha.

As you loose your lift when you are dropping down the Foam Pile what % of Backfoot pressure are you using to prevent the Board from nose diving and getting the Foil engaged again? I know there are at least 100 variables in the equation and you have done it so many times it has become automatic but just a general idea is all I'm looking for. I want to do this behind a Wakeboard boat before I try it ProneFoiling.

Wake boat is a great place to practice for sure. if you really breach the wing and lose all lift then the weighting on the feet can stay surprisingly even. Its not the same feel as breaching when your riding on a wave where the nose pulls down super hard. In this technique you are moving at a lot less speed and entering back into a transition so that helps a lot. Another good way to feel this out is when you are pumping back out to the line up do a planned kind of ollie breach towards the end as your speed starts to drop. This will give you an idea of foot pressure.

i understand everything, but for someone who wants to minimize the chance of tacoing, what would you recommend? Whats the safest and least risky way of hitting the foam? Would it be safer to have your foil deep in the water as you hit the foam instead of having the foil out of the water? it seems super scary what youre doing

Ya you can totally just keep your foil deep and in the clean water. It’s just not as much of a “hit” to me and you won’t be able to snap it in the same way

Could I ask how you get up on such a small board?

I paddle in just like you would on a shortboard. The foil gives more lift than you would think
