My first impression of Quince was mid-range-luxury-basics.
I think they're a great brand for curating your "firsts." When I hit my early 30s, I felt it was time to figure out my personal style and also start to collect higher quality pieces in every area. Still working on some of those areas. 🤣 But I feel like this brand is perfect for that. Need better luggage and sheets? They have that. Jewelry? Yep.
Quince saw this video and asked me if I wanted to partner up and I agreed. So you'll start to see more of them on my channel. ❤
I recently came across Quince looking for sustainable brands. This was helpful to see as I was not sure if L or XL would work. It looks like the cuts are generously sized.
I'm so glad it was helpful! Yes, I agree! I should have sized down in many of the pieces! 😀
Thank you for reviewing them:) I had seen an ad for Quince and wondered what the quality was like and if they were good to work with. They have some beautiful pieces!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think I stumbled across them searching for sustainable brands. 😆
I would say the cashmere is definitely worth it! I also love the bag.
Great try-ons! Aritzia has a version of that red dress. I have it and ended up putting a belt on it to give it shape and more flattering form foe me. We are similar body stats/shape. This is so helpful. I've been curious about Quince clothing and purses for awhile. Do you mind updating us in 6 months or a year on how the purse quality and hardware is holding up? Something I notice in purses is the hardware is the first thing to show signs of wear or tarnishing. Thank you for considering. Great review. Thank you!
Thank you! I bet that looks great!
So far, so good, except I've already noticed a tiny strip in the leather coming up on the strap. I'm kind of rough with my bags. I'm working on being more gentle. 🤣😭
The hardware is holding up!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Thanks for the review. I purchased their linen sheets and duvet an love them. So I'm excited to see the clothing. :)
Ooh I would love to try their bedding and cookware! The luggage, too. Lol
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for posting about Quince. I have never heard of this website. Just ordered a jumpsuit! Reviews were amazing! By the way loved the navy blue cashmere duster! Looked fantastic in the large! ☮💜
Yay! I hope you love it! Thank you. After watching this footage back, I agree. I'm glad I didn't go bigger. 😆
I really like Quince! I have a pair of boot cut stretch pants that I adore for work and a couple of Merino wool base layers that are great for the New England cold I'm currently in, lol. I've had some issues with the stretch silk, though. I had a tank top and it just didn't sit right on me. I'm definitely eyeing that quarter zip, though.
I can't imagine how cold it is there! I'm in SC and yesterday the high was 35, which is brutal for us! 🤣
I've heard of others being disappointed with the silk as well! I haven't washed mine yet, but if I could send anything back it would be the silk T-shirts.
I’m eyeing their luggage
Me too! I'm pacing myself. 🤣
I appreciate the unsponsored review. I’m a little wary of Quince myself. Of course I’d heard so many ads for them, so I ordered a silk maxi skirt for my formal capsule. I was super underwhelmed: the build of the garment was super basic, the silk didn’t feel like the greatest quality (I prefer a heavier gauge), and it definitely fit more like a midi skirt than a maxi (and I’m 5’4”).
I’m so glad you’ve liked a bunch of their pieces, but I think they’re just not for me. And can I say… is it kind of strange that they also sell cookware? Bedding makes sense, but cookware?
I hope this comment isn’t too negative 😅
I feel like I was in a brain fog watching this video back. 🤣 I should have gone over what I would skip (the silk T-shirts) and what I would try (sweaters/cashmere/bag).
I only have 1 other silk brand to compare to and that's lilysilk. The button down I have from them is heavier than Quince and I do prefer it. If I could send anything back it would be the T-shirts, dress and maybe the sweatshirt. Not negative at all!! Your experience is valid! I used to shop at outlets and didn't even know what polyester was a few years ago, so I think I'm easily impressed when I see higher quality. 🤣 And yes, cookware is odd! I wonder if they're trying to be an "all the basics you need in life" brand?
@@CaitlinH88 thanks for letting me speak freely! 😅 I love the idea of getting cashmere and silk pieces at pretty low prices… I just felt like I kind of got what I paid for 😬 I’ve found some vintage silk pieces that have astounded me with the level of quality and frankly craftsmanship, so it’s hard for me to accept less. I’d love to hear how the pieces hold up over time though! I did only try their silk, maybe their knits are better!
@angelaa.9915 Of course, always! 😊 I totally get that! I had never experienced silk until Lilysilk reached out to me. I still wear the button-down, but I would love to experience the level of silk that you have! I think I'm better at comparing cotton because I've owned so much of it! 🤣 My only higher cost knit experience is with Sezane, and I don't get why their sweaters are itchy. 🙃 I think Quince is better for a wardrobe foundation because everything is plain. I wish they had a "fun" category I could explore. I really want to add some fun this Spring/Summer.
@@CaitlinH88 that’s a great point about Quince pieces working better as basics! I hadn’t put that together in my mind.
Sezane is another brand that I hear a lot about from influencers. Never pulled the trigger on one of their pieces (there was one knit I really wanted, the Betty cardigan, but by the time I saw it, my size/color was out of stock). I’m sure the fabric composition plays a part, but I’m also pretty willing to compromise hand-feel and deal with a little itchiness for the fabric composition I want. I thrifted a full length wool duster a few months ago, and it’s itchy as all get-out 😂 I used a sweater shaver on it, tried softening it in hair conditioner, but it was still kinda itchy. I mostly wear it with a long-sleeve layer underneath so it’s not in direct contact with my skin, but sometimes I just accept the discomfort and honestly I forget about the itchiness eventually 🤠 when I tell you I’m committed…
I know that cardigan because I wanted it, too! I was nervous because of the length. I'm so weird with my long overlayers (long torso trauma).
😂 I do think Sezane has more fun and interesting pieces as well as basics, so that's cool.
I need a lesson in fabric composition and how to tell if the stitching is top tier, etc.
I can tell when something just looks cheap, but I want to train my eye more. I'm sure there are UA-cam tutorials on that.
I love that! I have yet to thrift.
😞 I'm not too far from bigger cities so I'm sure there are some good ones I could visit.
