What a beautiful trip down Sebastians memory lane , its very obvious how much he loves and admires his genius father. It brought me very much back to my own early childhood with a magical creative father. I found this a very personal , real and lovely glimpse into the true soul influences of Mervyn Peake the master wordsmith. It has opened up Gormenghast to me in another way . Thank you Sebastian for sharing so genuinely. I am quite moved.
I have read the "Titus Groan" trilogy at least three times, a friend recommended them to me in the 1960's. (Thank you Derrick Banks) I digress, an interesting trip down memory lane with many insights into the mind of Mervin Peak. A wonderful talk by The son of the artist, Sebastian Peak.
Mervyn sold the Pan logo for £10, worth around £242 today, still it must have made him feel a little like Allan Williams.The man who "sold" the Beatles to Brian Epstein for £9.
