Can honestly say i have seen some fantastic captains over the years but Carlos Puyol will be the top of the list time and time again. Its the sheer will making sure that ball does not cross his threshold, the ability to get up and carry on regardless of the situation, the only player that plays the entire 90 minutes like his life depended on it, the sheer amount of respect he gained without question including the opposition team and the best role model football could ever have for his kindness, his fair play and his command to make people do the right thing. Can honestly say i have seen some fantastic captains over the years but Carlos Puyol will be the top of the list time and time again. Its the sheer will making sure that ball does not cross his threshold, the ability to get up and carry on regardless of the situation, the only player that plays the entire 90 minutes like his life depended on it, the sheer amount of respect he gained without question including the opposition team and the best role model football could ever have for his kindness, his fair play and his command to make people do the right thing. Carlos Puyol will go down in history as the best defender/captain any team on the planet would be happy to have. This by the way is coming from a Manchester United fan respect is earned and this guy has certainly earned respect for every football fan alike. 👏
