My thing is, how were the demons unable to locate this family for over 400 years? They literally pass down the earrings muzan specifically told demons to look out for. It's not like they keep them hidden they flash them shits.
Muzan wasn’t looking for the Kamado family for 400 years. Yes he would hunt anyone who had the earrings but for generations the eldest Kamado held the earrings and passed down sun breathing as the ritual dance hinokami kagura. Tanjiro’s dad was dead and tanjiro was not home when muzan attacked. Muzan was simply roaming and making people demons in hopes they would resist the sun. The ubuyashiki (the ones with the forehead/eyes terminal disease) were the hunted family as they literally took over from yoriichi the bulk of the fight against demons, by using the sword styles he was able to teach to demon slayers as organizers/leaders of the whole campaign. If muzan was hunting down the kamado because he had heard of the earrings he wouldn’t have left until he found them i think. On top of he would probably be curious if sun breathing was also passed down with the earrings which he didn’t and seems unaware for the most part. Muzan saw the earrings when tanjiro detected his scent in the middle of the crowd. He did send a couple of demons after tanjiro but to me it’s weird how he didn’t go himself or send some upper moon to do the job himself. After all even muzan’s cells within Daki react in horror at the sight of the earrings so why wouldn’t he be fully committed to eliminate tanjiro is weird (maybe the cells reacted to the earrings and the sun breathing tanjiro was using.

I dont know if you'll agree with this, but I want to believe that Tanjuro is the reincarnated Yorichii. I mean Yorichii only wants to have a peaceful life and a family. Somehow, God has given him this chance without having a great responsibility like in his previous life. As far as I know, most of Tanjuro's characteristics matches that of Yorichii (birth mark, can see the transparent world, kind/calm attitude). The only exception is his frail body which then again could have been a way to make him escape the same path as he had before.
