It’s so touching to see him clearly wanting to sing the songs himself. What a great man and great musician. And unfailingly kind to students, even though he misses nothing.
Wow! This is presumably before Oliver Widmer even knew Cecilia Bartoli existed or barely knew her as she was in just a year or two about to become famous. He was already a successful baritone, but he had no idea he was going to be one of the luckiest men in the world to befriend, court and marry the most beautiful and successful mezzo-soprano in the world! We don't hear much of Oliver Widmer these days other than he is the husband of Cecilia Bartoli. This footage is priceless.

Herrlich wie Fischer Dieskau mitmacht. Und auch interessant, den Unterschied zum Studenten zu hören. Bestimmt schwer vor so einem Meister zu singen. Auch schon 20 Jahre her.
