- This video shows how to remove your dash bezel from your astro, or safari van. What you need for tools. I actually had a little bit of a hard time one handed, but I didnt want to keep pausing the video. There not too difficult, just take your time. glad to come across this video, very helpful but i'm looking to take off the cup holder piece and to replace the lighter unit. arthritic hands/fingers making it much harder than i thought. advice is appreciated.
Hi... Darin? I think... thanks for your time making this video... very helpful and, as you were apologizing about the video quality, it was fine and got the job done... I'm a solid general mechanic, but always check out a job for tips, tricks and nudges for odd info particular to specific vehicles... we don't buy shop manuals for anything anymore and no one person could know every configuration of every make and model out there... Yes I could have pretty much gone right to it, but, by slowing down just a bit and checking this proceedure out, maybe it saved me from cracking or breaking something, right??? It looks like you work in auto salvage so your exposure to carefully pulling off parts has to be pretty extensive...

Thank you, brother! The stereo volume knob is loose and needs to be tightened by a nut located behind the dash. This video has given me the confidence to try and access it. So helpful! Peace be with you.

You do not need to remove the 7mm or torx screws.
$159 + on ebay for the dash pieces, wow. I have 8 astros at the local junkyard. So I can go remove them and sell them for $100 , cut all those other sellers. The dash pads sell for $35 at the junkyard.

I just bought a used 2000 Astro and it looks like they tried to replace the bezel but there is a 2 inch gap on top. Maybe this will help me fix it cause it looks terrible.

It's not crazy bad. I have done it about 50 times. Just be careful with the switch connectors, and you will be all set.
