In a day and age where things can be extremely over complicated to the point where most people probably couldn't work out whatever it is because of the times of things being built for ease of use and simplicity are long behind us now unfortunately. This Indesit tumble dryer is literally the best tumble dryer I've ever personally owned. It has loads of different set times selectable by turning the knob on the machine and other than that the only other thing you can fiddle with/change is if you want whatever it is you are drying to have increased heat used during the drying cycle or not. In short I find this a PERFECT unit because I honestly don't see the need or for any tumble dryer to have a GAZILLION different settings/options on it because you end up needing a PHD to even understand and grasp what each of them do. This dryer is very bob basic in it's design but that's what makes it so easy to use!!
Having had 6 condensor dryers over the last 10 years I’ve Gone back to one of these brilliant machine less maintenance and quicker drying time I can now dry quicker then I can wash were as with all my previous condenser dryers took all day to dry one load of washing
Bought this dryer about 6 weeks ago and I have found that the buttons on some clothes can get stuck in the lint trap. This pulls the trap out, ruins the clothes, and at one point actually caused the belt to snap as the other clothes wrapped themselves around and stopped the drum from turning. Bit frustrated by that!
Thanks And I notice that you do reply to the comments, Which is a good thing , not like some UA-camRS who can't be bothered, That's why it's worth looking at your videos
Yes i would recommend a condenser dryer as it will save you having to leave the door open all the time. Don't go for a heat pump dryer though if it is in the garage as it will take a lot longer to dry than a vented or condenser dryer
Good video, would be nice if there was a measurement of exactly where the vent is. Indesit don't seem to have realised that the dryer is the full depth of a standard worktop, so the vent has to go straight out through the wall. Can I get the info on where the vent position is? Of course not!
can you tell me if this tumble dryer has reverse action please. I bought a heat pump one that went on for 4 hrs trying to dry a duvet that ended up in a big lump never to dry.
It can be washed if you need to, but i would just recommend washing under warm water with no detergent. Make sure its completely dry though before putting back in the dryer
Hi, you said that a condenser drier can go into a garage, but will it still not leave a lot of moisture as opposed to a vented drier. We want it for our garage, would have preferred a condenser, as we don't have a vent yet, but after seeing your video, it looks like condensers are back in play!!
On the majority of dryers, the vent hose will screw in around the back of the dryer. The main ones that it can be put on the front will be some of the small 4kg dryers like Indesit and Hotpoint, and again they will normally screw into the plastic part of the door.
How often should the vent hose be cleaned out on these. I always clean vent filter after every dry but worry about lint in the actual hose and inside the machine.
Most people won't clean it at all to be honest, but i would normally recommend cleaning it around every 4-5 months as there shouldn't be too much fluff buildup in there. Great question though
Been watching a few of your tumble dryer videos lately and have found them very interesting and informative. I see this model has auto reverse on the drum. Is that a big plus over the Blomberg which is another machine i was considering. We have our tumble dryer in the garage and it is vented. We now need to replace and not sure if to stick with vented or go for a condenser model. With a condenser i know the water goes in to a container but where does the warm air go and does this result in a lot of condensation. What would you recommend for a garage and will hold about 8kg. Many thanks. Trevoe
You will find if you have a vented dryer there anyway and you have a hole in the wall to vent the air outside, then i would personally stick with vented. Condensers are good if they are in an enclosed area with no option to vent but as you have the hole there anyway i would stick with vented. If its in a garage, there isn't normally a lot of condensation but it is still recommended to have some form of ventilation in there.
I need to be able to put the hose out of a window, until I can get it fitted properly which won't be for a few months, can I get an attachment to make the hose longer? Was going to get a plastic one but it says not to use one of those, we had a condenser but it doesn't dry my clothes properly
As far as i know there are not any extension hoses to make it longer. Although it is not recommended, some people are still using the plastic pipe with these dryers as they are a lot more flexible
Had one of these for only a month or so before it stopped heating. Also noted that it seems to dull clothes, we got it due to its simplify- figuring less to go wrong was better- but have been disappointed despite its cheap price.
@@pachma405 yeah apparently it’s quite common… repairman came out and replaced the heating “thingy”. He mentioned that we need to let it finish fully as there’s a cooling cycle at the end, which we do but so far the new one is working ok… for 3 weeks at least 😄
Bought one of these yesterday cleaned it out as it says with damp cloth noticed lots of silver/metal shavings look abit like glitter done a few loads now and still getting the silver bits going into the lint purse does anyone know what this is as im not happy with it and dont like the fact there could be silver shards in my clothes? Is it faulty does it need to go back?
Physically you can change it, but Indesit are quite strict that if they call out to it and it hasn't got the new vent hose on it then it may not be covered under the warranty
I was thinking using solid pipe instead this expandable one provided which stops water in groves are not the best easy to fit but I would upgrade with solid pipe for beter water flow
Good question, but i assume it is because there is little demand for people to want to reverse the door. Also with the door hinge and door switch, it would normally need an engineer to perform this task.
Bought one two weeks ago and it's already stopped heating up, so it's now a cold air dryer and takes a whole day to dry one load. Complete waste of money.
@@cathandandyheelin309 I'm surprised you got 8 months out of it. The engineer came out and changed a switch/sensor/thermostat thing, it has a few of them apparently, and they're not fit for purpose. I bought this Indesit tumble dryer about 2 years ago . Has broken down twice - kept blowing cold airs. I have not used this machine for over 6 months and will not pay another £100 plus knowing that the same problem will occur again. This Indesit machine is a waste of money.
Heat pumps go wrong alot of the time..and when they do they are too much to repair .... and to be honest I find a vented to use less electricity than a condenser equivalent...no extra electricity being used for the pump to work and so on
Are you aware of how many dead abandoned heat pump machines are for scrap on ebay and gumtree and so on 2years old if that because they aren't repairable?? This machine would last longer and cheaper to repair than that rubbish...you've been duped
Shit tumble dryer, the lint filter has caught clothes and clothes have backed up twice snapping the belt, terrible design on the filter, bra's, buttons etc get caught

I do try to as I always ask for comments on the videos and I think out of courtesy I should try and reply if I can and know the answer.
The little button to the left of dial . Which way for higher heat in or out pls ?
In for high temperature, out for lower temperature
Hi does anyone know if this dryer is reverse tumble and how long does the metal hose stretch to please
2:55 mine stop circling today, how i can deal with that, you can hear the sound of engine but not circling
It sounds like the belt has either snapped or come off so either needs putting back on or replacing.
I need a tumble dryer for my garage. I would leave the garage door open and place the vent outside, but wondered if a condenser dryer would be better?

Apologies if this is in the comments already but, what is the foam padding for on the rear of my Indesit Tumble Dryer model Nr. I1 D80W UK?
insulation.
The heating button how it's work ?!!!

Do we leave the padded foil on the back of the dryer please?
yes just leave the foil on the back
Can you show us how to press the reset button on this drier, please? My drier is running cold.
Open the door close the door fast. Open again and press start 6 times with in 10 seconds then close, this resets it😊
Does this have a trip switch? Had ours 3 weeks and not heating
No it doesn't, but it was a warranty thermostat change (part is £3)

Is the door reversible? I love mine but it is so close to my back door that it is difficult to open.
Unfortunately the door is not reversible on this model
Thanks I will just have to live with it.🤦🏻♀️
The button on my indesit tumble dryer, if pressed in is it hotter
finally theres a indesit innex dryer
Great video...very informative 👍
Hi is the see through part of the door made of plastic or glass please
Do I remove the padding fixed to back of new dryer? Can’t find any info about this
Thank you
It is not designed to be taken off.

Who did you call? Indesit?
Had mine few months. But the back hose has started gurgling is that dangerous
Is does sound odd it is making a gurgling noise. I would probably contact Indesit to get it checked out.

it is insulation which is designed to keep the heat in the machine to improve the energy efficiency.
Can I get an extension for the jose as not long enough can you advice where I can buy another hose so I can extend it out the window
You won't be able to extend the hose easily but you should be able to buy a longer vent hose from most decent diy shops

this one matches the indesit inexx modles

If you have got metal shards in the filter then that doesn't sound normal, i would get the retailer to check that the dryer is ok.
Can we place our dryer in the living room? Or in our toilet? Our house is too small but we need tumble dryer,…
They can go in other rooms, but it would be recommended to go for a condenser model rather than a vented model because of the venting of the hot air.

Yes you can, it will be ok as a condenser, if it is a heat pump dryer then if it is cold outside, the drying process will take a lot longer

What diameter is the hose and what length does the hose stretch please?
