“Pioneers’ infantry regiments were formed during the World War I Era to serve as road maintenance troops but were often used as labor for anything that needed to be accomplished.

Up in my neck of the woods again. Hope you got in a gravel ride while you were here. The church is pronounced Steven. My father remembers going there as a child. There used to be a potbelly stove in the corner. It's one of my favorite places to go in the LBL. Thanks for taking us along.

No ride that day. It was one of those days when it was super humid. We decided to drive the roads instead.

We lived about 5 miles from where you were exploring. I went with my boy and his scout troop on a 18 mile 2 day hike through there. Where this video began the boys found a huge snake in that gravel creek. It turned out to be the biggest copper head I had ever saw, I caught and held her for a few minutes and turned her loose.

Very enjoyable adventure in an area that I'm not familiar with, but would like to explore sometime. Meanwhile I got to join you from the air conditioned comfort of my home. The Retired and Roadtripping channel just had a series of videos on their journey through LBL earlier this year. It's making me want to go. My only trip in LBL was driving through on the Trace forty-some-odd years ago and I can't say I remember much of that.

I got another one I need to edit. We keep going back and exploring the forest roads.
