I have no words, but I just had to say how impressive a woman you have become since I started watching you in 2015 or so. You inspired me to fix my own fence and run a skid steer myself to spread manure and mulch in my orchard. My hubby was impressed. But you impress us all.
Precious farm! You make it look so easy, but in this video you had a beautiful day. People need to realize this is a 365 day commitment : and wintertime is probably a whole different story.
Thank You for another super interesting look into your farm life. Lots of animals in your work load, hope your hand is healing. Thank You for making the video and Adam, for your help, camera work and occasional Donkey herding.
I just watched the video about your hand. Please let me say how much I truly appreciate your truth and realness. Thank you. I will be praying for your healing. I just subscribed 😂
You should try putting some of your hand-less buckets into the locations your egg layers are laying their eggs. put some sand/gravel in the bottom for weight to keep upright, then add straw/sawdust up to about 2-3 inches from the top. The chickens will take to the buckets quite well.....not sure about the others.
When I was a kid, people w/pigs more the 2..would make a trip either to the dog food plant or the wonder bread plant..both places sold scraps by the truckload ! Probably not a recommended practice now days...thanks for sharing your story ❤😂
I gleaned so many personal epiphanies while watching this awesomness! *I could not be a profitable farmer. I'm a super hard worker, but my math skills are very weak. *The art of y'all's functioning universe orbits around thoughtful layers of symbiosis. *Yes! Guinea fowl are a good deal. Narry a tick on our dogs since my neighbor released them in our hood. *I believe this is the first time in my life I've written the word "narry". Well, two times now...
My "mini" pigs skin got better after I switched to Sharps mini pig feed. And I agree! I hate hearing people eat but I could listen to my piggy boy slop his food or water all day lol 😆
Love your videos !! A shopping trolley or something on wheels , could come in handy to move those buckets around . Coming from a bad back sufferer here .. 😂
Just be careful with it if you have swallows in your barns, or other birds. Horrible when one gets caught in it. I would suggest making a circular hardware cloth cage around it. 😊
I think it'd be great to also have a bit of a view of what all this looks like beside your non-farm work schedule. I love hearing all the math and organizational thoughts that go in to your farm, but it'd also be great to have the context of it in relation to your and Adam's other jobs.
Glad to see your hand is healing! If I was a farmer, I’d be foolish to not be following you for all the wonderful, informative ways to manage a variety of animals and to maximize profits!👏👏👏👏👏🙏🏼
FFA point of interest, a ration by definition, is what's consumed in a 24-hour period. Too picky? So grateful for your approach to gardening and animal husbandry. Much thanks for your efforts...
New sub here - you're such an inspiration! Living the (work-intense!) dream :-) I only have 3 dogs (2 Beagles and 1 flock guardian, an Estrela Mountain Dog, to watch over them and the property), but until I found YOUR channel, I was convinced that 3 dogs were a lot of work. Not any longer... You're doing amazing, hope your hand will be all better soon. All the best, have a great weekend. Favorite characters on your channel so far: Those baby goats!!!
greetings from the netherlands, lol ... .change the alpaca's for 5 sheep( and a ram) ...and the donkeys for 4 horses... .add 3 more dogs (1 boerboel , 2 german sheps 2 australiansheps) ....and less ducks... less chickens ... and no cows .. .then its pretty much the same animal bunch we got here ;) nice video and good breakdown of the food you give em... really enjoyed it
I had a dog with dog food issues - I tried every bagged food known to mankind and he just didn’t do great …until I made his food! Entirely different dog! Highly recommend ❤
Our netherland dwarf got together with our double maned lion head gal and produced the most beautiful floofy boy (he looks like a teddy widder) that is the sweetest ball of fluff. We’re about to get the dad fixed but if you see this comment on time, we could possibly do a litter for you! Strategically it might be challenging as we’re in Utah. She accidentally got out last month and mated with the most beautiful and friendliest of all our Holland lops. She’s due in 3 days!
I understand the principles of rotation, but it tends to stress your animals as well as you. If you're stressed, so are your animals. These guys doing all these great rotational feats also have interns and are not working full time jobs outside the farm. Their full time jobs are the farms. Do what works for you. To heck with all their lofty rotational grazing goals of multiple times a day. Thats crazy!!!!!
NO SLING!!!! We are going to begin raising ducks and sweet potatoes to help out on the dog food costs and since I lost my little dachshund to poisonous dog food(too much vitamin D) we are really looking forward to making a raw food home grown dog food.❤❤❤
There are many others already on the channel! We do one every season. There’s a couple winter, spring and summer versions you can find with very similar thumbnails :)
It sure does. Chaffhaye is a superfood and I feed it to every single animal on our farm. I’ve been feeding it to my goats for 7 years and it’s a real game changer
I'm sure you probably already know, but the increase in protein in spring/summer grasses like rye can speed up the digestive tract of ruminants, leading to an inability to absorb all the nutritional benefit of the feed. Feeding more roughage with a higher fibre content, like you are doing, helps slow down the digestive process and will aid in retaining/better weight gains. It's the absolute opposite of what we humans need so it's not intuitive. Also, your jerseys are gorgeous girls
So true! We’ve been doing lots of experimenting with different grasses, minerals, and even electrolytes at different points in the summer as we’ve had two years in a row with record high temps and droughts which, as you know is SO hard on our girls- thankful to report I think we’re finally finding a better balance, but boy howdy, anything we can do to keep them cooler in the heat at peak lactation is MORE THAN worth the effort.
I have a vet come once a year unless there is an emergency I can’t take care of on my own, so about $350/year. I learned basic veterinary care, to farrier, train and shear by volunteering at other farms for a few years, which offsets an enormous amount of the regular costs most other farmers have to pay. Feed is covered entirely and (then some) by the sale of eggs, dairy, and meat sales. I have a rule that every farm endeavor must pay for itself, as I don’t have time or capacity for “hobbies” when it comes to the farm, though it’s safe to say that the upfront cost of feed and general care is about $400-$1200 a month for everything. In the winter it’s slightly more expensive than in the summer because less of the feed is supplemented by the farm in real time (like excess dairy and produce for the pigs, fresh grass and forage for the goats and cows) and we have to buy more grain, barn bedding, and use the hay we pay to have cut and stored.
So… I am responsible for proliferating that myth without proper testing. After more experimentation my conclusion is that the presence of a male goat will exacerbate issues with milk flavor and spoilage time because of the added pheromones, but when your feed/nutrition is balanced and your milk collection process is sanitary, it shouldn’t affect it at all. Side by side taste tests still have every single person who tries my cow and goat milk choosing the goat milk for its sweet flavor, richness and total absence of any musk or “goaty” flavor. It lasts in the fridge for about 7-10 days before the flavor starts to alter even in the least
Girl, I'm EXHAUSTED just watching you work.
Without her right opposer… impressive!
Those baby goats are the CUTEST THINGS EVER!
Yes they are! ❤
Agreed
I have no words, but I just had to say how impressive a woman you have become since I started watching you in 2015 or so. You inspired me to fix my own fence and run a skid steer myself to spread manure and mulch in my orchard. My hubby was impressed. But you impress us all.
“JEFFREY NO!!!!!!!” 🤣 Jeffrey is my favorite animal and these are my favorite types of videos!
Wow! Watching this farm tour is like a cozy glimpse into daily life on the farm. I’m amazed by the dedication and charm of each morning chore! 🌾
Precious farm! You make it look so easy, but in this video you had a beautiful day. People need to realize this is a 365 day commitment : and wintertime is probably a whole different story.
It's amazing what you shared in the video. You've given me so much motivation to keep working on my farm. I'm a big fan of yours!
Thank you so much for doing their horns so young. We vets appreciate farmers like you so much❤

I learned so much watching this video. You guys do a fantastic job. Thankful you share such adventures with the world. 🐐 🐄 🦙 🐈⬛ 🐖 🐕 🐴
Wrangling goats can be very challenging! 🤣

They're not running amuck, Anne. They're trying to feed themselves in order to make your life easier. Obviously. :) Great video. Thanks for sharing.
That was fun!
"Geoffrey, no!" at the very end. 🤣
The egg hunt was cute lol
When I was a kid, people w/pigs more the 2..would make a trip either to the dog food plant or the wonder bread plant..both places sold scraps by the truckload ! Probably not a recommended practice now days...thanks for sharing your story ❤😂
Love your videos, been watching a bunch this today. Good job, love all the animals.
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
Idea: board with rollers under the dog food bins.❤
Goats are stinking cute and take a lot of work. Glad to see your hand becoming more functional!!
WOW. You have your hand back!
Blessings everyone everywhere and always
I would love a video on the farm for why you have the animals you have, which are pets, which are for farm profit, and why you picked what you picked.
@Ark-ys2upà

Nice, your out the sling.
My "mini" pigs skin got better after I switched to Sharps mini pig feed.

I am still amazed at how much stuff you know! Good for you girl - what a great example you are.
So jealous that you have all those animals. I am afraid though that I could never butcher any of them, especially those awesome pigs.
The orchard is such a serene place
Love your videos !! A shopping trolley or something on wheels , could come in handy to move those buckets around . Coming from a bad back sufferer here .. 😂
I've absolutely loved your last couple of videos! Very informative and interesting to see your daily farm routine. You're a very hard worker.
Glad to see you are out of the sling.... I do want to know what that flytape is called ... It would be so much better in my horse stable

Could you teach the donkeys to carry the heavy stuff for you when you are doing the chores?

Briggsie is not useless ~ his poop is terrific fertilizer for the compost and he is soft and cute which can be good for your health.
Yep, watching you put me back to sleep 💤 😅 Thank you son much. So calming.
I love these long videos!
Glad your on the mend!! Loved the video!

When my brother and I were in 4H we raised a type of pig called Landrace. Very long side of bacon.
You can make your own dog food easily from what you’re already growing - another way to save money 😊
I had a dog with dog food issues - I tried every bagged food known to mankind and he just didn’t do great …until I made his food! Entirely different dog! Highly recommend ❤
What did you ultimately use that worked, recipe wise?
Our netherland dwarf got together with our double maned lion head gal and produced the most beautiful floofy boy (he looks like a teddy widder) that is the sweetest ball of fluff. We lived on a very small farm and had a cow for milk from which wevmade butter.

Adam of no trades 🤣
You feed the fly strips to the chickens??😃
Ikr gow does that work? Doesnt it stick to the feathers. I just picture a chicken with a flystrip stuck to its face and all the others chasing after😂
How do you keep your Chaffeye from molding? I buy small bags from co-op and it molds before it’s half gone!
Please do another one 🙏
There are many others already on the channel! We do one every season. There’s a couple winter, spring and summer versions you can find with very similar thumbnails :)
Where can I get the jeans you are wearing. Great video thank you.
Holly Spirit in action!
I love listening to goats chew for some reason.... but not people...
I always thought that male goats were not supposed to eat alfalfa. Does the fermentation process of the Chaffhaye change that?
It sure does. Chaffhaye is a superfood and I feed it to every single animal on our farm. I’ve been feeding it to my goats for 7 years and it’s a real game changer
❤❤❤
Thanks. See lots of young Hispanic working with tree companies and cash paying companies
where can we get that fly paper?
I would love to come and help you!
How do you keep food from spoiling from humidity?
Only store a couple months at a time
hi
4:12 did anyone else notice the cat 😭
8:01 I thought cats only killed the rats and mice.. I didn’t know they ate them too 🤨
They sure do
my goats poop in the feeders as well. never fails.
You should make your own dog food and freeze it in batches. Would save you a fortune and it's better for your dogs.
thanks for adding the math ☺️☺️☺️☺️ I keep telling my partner OVER FEEDING is a real issue for animals and my BANK 🏧😅😅😅
