    Lovely to see a new “tiny”, thank you. My Go Draw palette has finally arrived 🥰 and I’m having so much fun doing little paintings. I become so absorbed when I’m working on a tiny that it’s like yoga or meditation. Such peacefulness back in my life, thank you!

    Hi Leslie. I did my first tiny painting yesterday with my Go Draw tiny palette. Your videos have brought back my love of creativity. I wish I could post a photo here to show how you inspired me. ❤ Question. I will be going home to Canada soon for a visit. Did you ask the employees of the café is it was OK to set up or do you just go ahead? Hope you are having a lovely visit with your mom. xo

      Congratulations on your new tiny painting practice! You can always send me a photo of your work on Instagram. And no, I don’t ever ask if it’s okay to paint; I just tuck myself into a corner or small space and do it. If I was setting up a big easel it would be different, but people work on computers and read, etc, in cafes all the time, so a bit of sketching is no more conspicuous. Have fun visiting Canada. 😊

    Lots of cracking advice -thank you. But I do have a question. When you have been through your tiny sketchbook once do you then go through it "backwards" so you also paint on the other side of the page? Or do you think clipping the palette onto the finished painting might damage it? Do you ever use both pages to make a longer painting (like here when you are in a cafe and could put your palette down on the table)?

    • @LeslieStroz
      @LeslieStroz  6 місяців тому +2

      Thanks! I don’t draw on the reverse pages, no. I also don’t do two page spreads in this sketchbook. It’s just personal preference. 😊 I like that when I turn each page there is nothing else to distract me from the single painting.

    I trally enjoyed watching your thinking process about composition. It is also great to see how much you can do with a good selection of six colours. Thanks for sharing this, Leslie. Have a good time in the USA!

    I love seeing the different architecture in different countries they are always soo fascinating and i always wanna try to draw them this had gotten to the point where when I went to my friend's house and were walking around her neighbourhood I was an interesting house and stopped to really absorb the house beauty.. i have done this a lot of times she always gets annoyed 😅😅

      That’s fantastic! Once you start doing art regularly it’s impossible to turn off your Artist’s eye. Non-artist friends often don’t understand. I usually just take quick photos when I’m with an unsympathetic audience. It’s nice to have photo references for bad weather days or studio paintings too. 😊

    Oh, my goodness! I watch your videos frequently and I'm slowly working my way through the older ones--and learning so much about making miniatures. This one *really* caught my attention because it looked so familiar! I haven't been to that exact place, but I do live fairly close to it! It looks like a wonderful place to sketch! 🤩

      It depends on your goal, where you are painting and what is most convenient for you. I don't leave the house so I use a medium one, the size of my small hand, space isn't a problem for me and I'm still learning so 12 colors is enough for me, I have variety to explore and the limit to learn to use a few colors and make mixtures, and of course: a spacious godê to analyze what I'm doing.

      Yes, the big cars and the stores that are in almost every town! There is definitely pretty architecture in America, but where I was I’d have had to paint outside and it was still a bit too cold for that! 😊

    At 58, my eyesight is not what it used to be, even with glasses I feel like I can’t paint this small. I wish, but I need at least a 5x8 to start. Of course it takes me two days to finish anything lol.
