- Lauren Hemp has described the current Manchester City team as ‘special’ having agreed to a three-year contract extension.
The England international has committed her future to the Club until 2027, having first moved to the City Football Academy back in May 2018.
A four-time winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year award and member of the Lionesses’ Euro 2022-winning squad, the 23-year-old has forged a reputation as one of the most exciting wingers in world football.
But Hemp still has plenty of silverware ambitions, and believes City is the best place for her to make that a reality in the years to come.
“I’m really excited,” she said about signing an extension.
“This is a special team and I really want to be involved in the squad for the next few years. I feel like you can’t get rid of me!
“I’m really excited, I want to win trophies with this team, and I know we’re capable of doing it.
“We’ve not yet won every trophy I want to win yet. I’m so passionate about this club, and there’s no place I’d rather be.”

I have been praising Lauren in comments all season, on videos from several English speaking and some other countries. I even joked on a Barcelona video that they wanted her to see Usain Bolt in their Hemp shirt.

Fantastic news for the girls, fans and the club and Lauren. She literally could have picked her club anywhere so its a great coup for City so congrats to the City WOmen management. It helps but she obviously loves the club. Hempo is a Blue and will remain so!
