Like you mean you did this and it came out this beautifully well. Look how the ties were sparkling after you gave it thorough scrubing. Good work girl.
Thank you so much!! I was looking for backsplashes for a really really long time as well until I finally found this and fell in love with the look!! Thanks again for your comment and for watching! 😊
You should go for it! I would definitely recommend, even after a few months it still looks great! Thank you so much for watching and good luck if you try it out! ☺
Thank you!!! Good luck, I'm sure it'll be great! The good thing about the handmade nature of Zellige tiles is that each tiles is unique so its fairly easy to place since you don't have to make sure everything is perfectly aligned. Good luck and thanks for watching ☺️
AHHH!!! Makayla! I’m right there with you I have no words!!! Omg I love love how everything turned out. I know you want to give your cousin most of the credit but Um you were working on top of doing the mood board the research! And let’s not forget you picking up that bucket lol. I learned so much from you sharing this. So what’s next? Im enjoying watching you transform your house to a beautiful home 💚
Thank you soooo much!! Yessss, as you know, a lot of time and attention goes into the research and planning phases of all these DIY design projects! Girl, picking up that bucket was nothing compared to you doing electric work lol I'm still SO impressed with the progress of your bathroom!!! I'll have a video up soon for the dining room updates, but hopefully next we can tackle our powder room as well! Thanks sooo much for watching 😊💚
Yes! The first few we did, we skipped the soaking phase and realized they weren't sticking well, so definitely recommend the presoak! Thank so much for watching and good luck with your tiles ☺️💚
Wow, wow, wow! 🤩 Fantastic Job. Cousin came through!! 😂 I love how each one looks different, but works well together! Thanks for sharing the video of how they were made. Glad you both had fun in the process. Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you!! I fell in love when I first saw them online and fell even more in love with them once they were up on the wall!! 😊 Thanks so much for watching!
I just got this for my clients and from Tile bar. Looks amazing! What did you use on the edge ? Since they don’t to a bullnose tile or finished edge tile ?
Thank you! So for the edges, I wanted a raw, natural look so we didn't do anything to them at all! He just added the grout to the side of it and on the top corners so they wouldn't be too rough. He did offer to find a bullnose tile that matched as close as possible to add, but I personally prefer the natural look, but I think adding a bullnose in a different tile would be possible! I hope that helps! Thanks again for watching ☺
Thank you! I really liked the natural/organic look of the raw edge, so he just added grout to the edges so it wasn't too rough to the touch. I've seen other people trying to find edge trims that matched as closely as possible to the tile. Good luck with your installation and thanks for watching! 💚

Thanks so much for posting this, looks like something I could accomplish! I'm thinking of ordering three or four different shades of blue and mixing them up for a backsplash but wonder what to do with the green formica counters. I'm switching everything over to blue and white and getting rid of the contractor colors... the kitchen is by far the most anxiety-producing.
Ooooo, a mixtures of different blues would look amazing!! 🤩 I thought this tile was pretty easy to install and because of the organic nature and shape of the tile, if you make a mistake you won't be able to tell lol honestly, that's why we chose to go with this tile - well besides absolutely loving the handmade look of the tile! Thanks so much for watching and good luck on our backsplash adventure! 💚
Also… what did you use to cut your tiles? A regular tile cutter or the kind with water? You have totally inspired me! I was thinking of just giving up on getting zellige.
My cousin did all of the cuts using a handheld cutter without water, but if I were to do it myself, I think I would probably rent a wet saw. Watching him use the handheld cutter made it look easy, but idk if I would feel comfortable using that. So far, I absolutely LOVE zellige! Good luck!!!! 😊
What did you use in the end of tiles where the counter top ends? Did you grout it or you put a finish? What grout color did you use? Starting mine now😊
Hi thanks for watching! These tiles unfortunately didn't come with an edge finishing piece, so we just added grout to the edges. We got the grout in the color biscuit and it matched perfectly, but we were also looking at the color bone which also would have worked well! Good luck on your tile install! ☺
You are so brave. I’m so scared to do this. I even drove to Zia. Your backsplash looks amazing. Have you or your cousin tiled before? Do you think the 2x6 would be more challenging?
Thank you sooo much! My cousin is a professional contractor so he knew how to tile, however, I will say, IF I had to do it myself, I would feel comfortable tackling this by myself - the hardest part would be the measuring/cutting to make sure the tile fit around the outlet covers etc. Hmmm I'm not sure if the 2x6 would be more challenging, I think it would depend on how you want to lay the pattern - if subway tile style, or stacking them on top of each other. I think it would probably be easier if you stack them directly on top, but I think subway style could work just as easily, but may require a bit more measuring and planning. I hope this info helps!! Good luck, you go this!! I love that you are actually able to visit the Zia store in person! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Hi! We didn't use spacers because I was going for more of a natural/organic/imperfect look. I think you can use spacers if you want, but most zellige tile install I see, they don't use spacers. Good luck!
Hello! It depends on the company you order from. We used the measurement guidance and calculator they company provided on their website to figure out how many boxes we would need. I used a tape measure straight across to find that number then I measured from the vent to the stove top and added those two numbers together. I was able to take those numbers and find out what square footage I needed based on the guidance on their website. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching! 😊💚
No, a small hand held power saw did the trick for us, but you could definitely use a wet saw - I would never trust myself to use a hand held power saw lol Thanks for watching ☺️💚
Dumb question: what if we just outlined the outlets so that when you put the covers on they were inset a little rather than worry about all the little cuts? Would that look bad?
Hi thanks so much for watching! ☺💚 And there are no dumb questions! Hmmm tbh I'm not sure how it would look, I'm not sure I've ever seen an example of that, but I think it's all about personal preference and it could be doable!
Hello, thanks for watching!! So he used this mini handheld saw/cutter tool to cut the pieces around the tile. Apologies if I don't know the name for it lol thanks again for watching!
Hello! It was about $190 a box and we got 3 boxes so around $570 and shipping was around $300 plus there was tax so in total we spent a little over $925. I hope that helps ☺
What a great cousin!
IKR! The best! Thanks for watching ☺

Hi there ! It looks stunning perfectly done . Do you remember what color grout you used ?
Thanks so much! 🥰 We used the color Biscuit, but I believe there was another color called Bone that was very close to Biscuit! Thanks for watching! 😊
I love this!! I’m doing the same tile now. ❤ How did you do the edges of the backsplash? Did you miter them? If so, how?
