Between playing the new Splatoon and hanging out with my friend Ryan who came to visit, I haven't had mushroom to work on music, but I doubled down and dashed to get it out! This track (for both racing and listening) has always been one of my favourites from the series, so it's about time that I show one of the best Mario Kart games some love! Mario Kart Double Dash is like Super Smash Bros Melee.
They may have later installments that had better development and are generally better games, but the Gamecube had elements that people loved that can't be replicated by the newer installments.
Melee had everyone weighing as much as a brick, and had numerous exploits and glitches to make competitive play have speed.
Mario Kart Double Dash had incredibly loose steering and terrible traction. This made it so items items like shells and bananas were incredibly nerfed, but still useful. Shortcuts are much riskier, and drifting was more unstable. Items could be swapped and properly stored and used in more situations. Item frequency also increased, having a loss less dull moments on the race. First place actually has to keep focused instead of getting a banana for defense and turning his mind off.
Oh, and there's two people in one Kart. I almost forgot about that.
Ultimately Both games are the crowd favorites because it took what they loved and made it crazier.
But Melee can be compared to Ssb4, Double dash can't compare to 8 deluxe.

I had an idea to bring back Mushroom City - but as a futuristic city, with anti-gravity incorporated. That would really breathe fresh air into the course and make it loads more interesting.

You can hear a part of it at 1:37 and at 2:47 is the circuit theme for MKWii. So cool how he incorporated that in!! I love the music for Waluigi Stadium :)

I feel like the chance for a Mario Party 4 remix gets ever closer. Mushroom City (and Bridge) we're really good Double Dash tracks. Double Dash is my favorite Mario Kart because I think it has the best original soundtrack and my favorite Rainbow Road
