Love the contrast of Sephiroth being a terrifying force of destruction and death and yet at the same time so delicate and human in his desperation to locate Genesis.

One of the reason Sephiroth never had a chance to be simple human. Even his allies or comrades are after him or want a piece of him.
And seeing him caring for a friend show that Sephiroth has good in him.
the expanded advent children version shows cloud actually commenting about once looking up to sephiroth. during their facedown
glenn was his friend also the first of them. its revealed seph became the team leader for glenn and his crew...
glenn also a father like figure for him. so its kinda sad here they are in battle. wonder what caused the fallout??

After finishing the latest chapter of First Soldier in Ever Crisis, it makes sense why Sephiroth is shocked to see Glenn and doesn't attack him immediately after blocking his attack.

Rebirth actually looks like and feels like FFVII. Not neutered nor watered down. Hopefully it takes a different direction and gives us Genesis and Angeal.

Same, had the same thought after watching the trailer of rebirth and this video again.
It will be interesting to see what they do with Genesis moving forward, I always loved the fact that Genesis was so flamboyant but his body and mind were being physically wrecked, I imagine degradation is like a type of Cancer. Worse on the inside then the outside, which makes me wonder if Sephiroth himself sufferred from some aspects of it? Alot of people hate Genesis but I love him! I think he's one of the series most misunderstood and interesting characters with lots of confusing mixed messages. I mean he's "supposed to have killed his 'parents'" but then he buried them??? That doesn't make sense!--Also if you play Vincent's Game you know Hojo & Shinra had mountains of propaganda and lies running rampant! Turks vs. Soldiers vs. Scarlet's Weapon factions it's like Shinra/Hojo set up the board to keep the fools pitted against each other to compete for a prize that didn't exist and thus distracted! Curse the Shinra Science Department!!

Genesis has a personality : he's an insecure arrogant selfish drama kid who ends up terminally ill and falls in a spiral of despair in order to self preserve, lashing out at his creator in the meantime. He's talking about Loveless all the time to emphasize how pathetic he is, because he's so desperate that he reads a play as a prophecy who may save him.
Have you even played the game to say that he's sephiroth 2.0 ? sephiroth turns into an insane lusty for power super human whereas Genesis is a pathetic dying failure of an experiment who hangs on to life like a leech. They have so little to see with each other lol

Seeing Glenn is still working with Sephiroth in Rebirth who probably plotted the whole Wutai war was a way to distract Rufus.
It wasn't even Glenn, it was an illusion from Sephiroth, the real was killed by Rufus

Sephiroth vs Glenn.....It's interesting to note that there was a Glenn in Chrono Trigger. He was the frog swordsman and he too wielded a masamune sword. He also had a "silver-headed" rival Magus, who was a scythe-wielder. I wonder how the fight between Sephiroth and Frog Glenn would turn out. I also wonder if Frog Glenn and Magus were inspirations to the creation of Sephiroth. Chrono Trigger was before Final Fantasy 7.

I thought his name being Glenn is a nod to the type of valley, a glen, like how we have other weather and terrain names like Cloud, Squall, Tidus, Lightning, and even FFBE with Rain
Well what about silver haired karsh, Glenn and the evil masamune in chrono cross? I think it because square used to like using these element or ideas in their games. That and silver hair and masamune both have ties to japanese culture.

I think the dog barking is Rifu an that’s obviously Glen after Sephiroth, mabe wants revenge, because Lucia an Matt aren’t there…mabe Sephiroth killed them. Or mabe he wants Revenge for Rosen because he’s not there either, an in the trailer it shows Rosen near a fire talkin to Sephiroth.
I don’t know if he killed him…but I think at this point on the time skip Rosen is dead an mabe Matt an Lucia are too. So it’s just Glen an the dog Rifu after Sephiroth.

Am I tripping? Was that a mass cluing of Behemoths. There's no way that is insane if it was even for Sephiroth! I mean fighting One Behemoth is super challenging in all main line games. Tactics is only game where they're easy to kill~

You have to consider that in the remake neither of the main character are really near Sephiroth level and am sure he fought many Behemoths in the training simulation. Sephiroth is not even at his full potential in the remake since its a body he control and he's somewhere else sleeping in a tree.
So yeah for us to have a harder time fighting one while Sephiroth solo many others is not really far fetched.

Yeah a bit. But it’s a call back to what Genesis said to Sephiroth in Crisis Core. So maybe some connection there.
And the dubbing issue. Japanese is first and other languages have to try their best to fit in.

SEPHIROTH is a designed monster thriugh the eyes of the oerson who created him as himself to look out to be in real life. the designer dont perform the same stuff sephiroth does in these videos. But who sephiroth really is thedesigner man behind him making himself money! That is all folks. Okay so wake up and stop believeing that a sephiroth is human.
