A Skmei-Shock on Wednesday, a G-Shock on Sunday. And what a G-Shock! Definitely worth the hype this one, but not worth much more than the $99USD asking price. I'll be buying one for sure, but only when I can find one for a good price. Oh, and one where I can actually read the time..... Cheers, Jody
Jodie, that isn't a piece of plastic covering the dial 07:52 , it's mineral glass which makes it a value proposition.
I'm a big gshock fan, I've had one on my wrist as my army service watch, it still works and I do have a couple more gshocks. This one is definitely one of the nicest looking ones, without a doubt it's a watch I would love to own.
Looked online everywhere, out of stock or wildly inflated prices. 20 minutes later I walked into a shoe store in my city that has a little Casio stand and they had every single color available at MSRP, bought it and walked out with it on my wrist lol

I got it for under retail at my local dealer for g-shock, and the stealth one too that is, Im over the moon with my first G-shock ever.
Just got a friend to pick me up one on her travels in Japan. Such an awesome piece for the price, especially tax free in Japan on sale. Love the ruddy thing, it's getting more wrist time than any of my other pieces, and has taken over from my GSTB100 as the daily hack.
I just picked one up on Amazon at a reasonable price and it arrives tomorrow. Will report my thoughts once I inbox it!

Agreed let the madness die down then pick up the same model your going for. Very pleased about the way they have redesigned the fit of strap. My other stealthy model, although small, tends to have a way too large lug to lug. Another reason to flip it for this one in the future. 😄
This is a fantastic watch. The crystal is so clear and the dial has a great depth to it. It is the type of watch that makes you look twice when looking at the time. I really hope they make a black steel version of this.

Just got a Casioak today. I went with the black version with white hands and indices, because it IS more legible. I’m also impressed by how quickly it got here from Japan!!
On my wrist right now is a GA-B2100, 5689 with Bluetooth and solar. I love this thing.
I'm in Aus too and paid under $200 for it at a Wallace Bishop in Brisbane.
I don't have any issues with legibility of the all black dial, but will keep an eye out for a sapphire mod regardless.
My biggest issue has been pitting/melting of the case and band when I sprayed my arm with mosquito repellant... I have tried a couple of gentle cleaners to try to remove the marks, but it looks pretty permanent... For a watch designed to be used for activities and the great outdoors, this seemed like a pretty big design flaw...
Got mine in Clear. And yeah it wears lighter. Going to mod it one day but not just yet. Maybe after the clear strap etc start to yellow then I'll go metal or a different colour strap and outer body?
I gobbled up a stealthed out version last year before the market went nuts and the watch single handedly got me interested again in non-digital watches. Kind of a Trojan horse for digital/G-shock fans. Now I'm happily wearing a a Hamilton as my everyday with the G's acting more as beaters and gym watches.
I was like, meeh, but then you showed it from the side! Really like that it's a little bit less chunky!

I got a red one of these Casioaks today at a jeweller's shop for the Black Friday sale price of $199. I had my eyes on one of these for a while and I'm stoked I have one!.

I just bought one of these and I'm excited to start wearing it. The version I bought is black and has the white indices. Couldn't find it anywhere stateside so had to get it from a place in Japan.
i love square g-shocks but dont really like analog ones, so kinda undecided on this one but it has grown on me and if i were to ever get an analog gshock it would and probably will be this one. when a nice colorway comes around i will probably get one.
i like that its not like an ordinary quartz watch, rather a digital watch with hands on top it.

I managed to grab the stealth version for $129CDN on Black Friday from a local vendor that hadn't even listed it on his site yet. So glad it has a light because otherwise I could only read it during bright daylight hours. But as you say, it is so cool who cares? This is a watch that I struggle to take off on the weekend. 👍
I'm a bit slow to the party with this watch, but I received an email yesterday to say that it was in stock and available to buy, watch purchased within a minute of the email arriving. I went with the legible version rather than the 'stealth' version, not as cool but at least I will be able to tell the time. Thanks for the review Jody, always good to hear that I haven't picked a 'pig' of a watch, especially since this will be my very first ever G-Shock. July 2020 and still really difficult to get, got mine for £92.00 from Amazon, just hoping it's not a fake considering how difficult they are to get hold of.

Ah yes, for those that can't afford the sensation of paying a massive premium over retail for a Rolex, you can now get the same feeling with this G-Shock.

November last year , I bought 2 of these from “G shock shop” in China. Many weeks later , 2 completely different watches arrived. They cost too much to return so now I have some spare GBA 800’s and no 2100’s. 😡
Great watch. I have the one with pale grey hour markers which is very legible. I agree that BT is really a gimmick. Mine keeps excellent time by itself. Setting the date and time after a battery change is laborious, but that doesn’t happen too often.
Solar charged Casio G-Shock users if you ever had your battery run down, you need to check out the Cool Fire Battery charger on amazon. I bought and tried it. It works.
Here in Germany (July 2020) you can pick one up for 90€ from many shops looks like the hype died down

I bought this watch last week for $70 which is insane for this time! For me build quality felt cheap and i would’nt recommend you to buy over $200 dollar but the looks is quite nice
Have you ever had one of the Casio Edifice models? The EFR-526L-1AVUEF and EF527D-1AV both look pretty nice online and are available for under $100!

Another Casio that may be fun to review is Casio Edifice EF 10. Stainless steel case, domed crystal, 10yrs battery, date at 4 pm, decent explorer style dial with date at 4pm, decent bracelet, 100m water resistance, all for ....... 30USD on Amazon. Puts to shame most of the watch hobby and its right in the vein of sub 500$ channel.
I found one for $115 US on ebay. Now waiting for my stainless metal ‘royal oak’ replacement bezel ordered on AliExpress.

The Royal CasiOak. They were sold out within a week of release here in Singapore.
I bought the all black version for $160 on Ebay. It's a great looking watch and everyone comments on it. It's only $60 folks...if you want one, buy it. Why not have something you want for just a few extra bucks?!?
These watches look awesome, but unfortunately, the weekday subdial (starting with Sunday) is just a deal-breaker. They need to release a European version with the week starting on Monday. Obviously there are models with digital day display, like the GA-800 family, but still.

I bought the legible one for my dad at Christmas for €99, he loves it. He was using a vintage Zenith dress watch while doing sports and I just could not bear the sight of it, had to buy him something more suitable haha.
You can still find them pretty easily here in Italy for that price tbh.

I have a lot of ani-gigi and digi only G-Shocks I love and the design of this one leaves me "meh". It looks just like one of those non-G-Shock $30 Casio budget models you would get off a rotating counter display at Walmart. I wouldn't pay retail for this one, much less a premium. IMO the whole black tactical thing is done to death at this point. If they want Rangeman prices for this thing, the heck with it, I'll just get another Rangeman.

I have the blacked out version. It sits in my watch box. It isn't very comfortable and the back light is pointless. Most analog gshock's back lights are, but this one is worse. I did pay $99 for it. But I'm pretty meh about it.
