Visiting Scotland in October from California and I am so happy that I saw your video!! Thanks to you, I will be adding the beautiful Loch Rannoch to the itinerary and a Scottish half marathon medal to my bag!!
Hi there, thank you for such a lovely message. It is a beautiful part of the world. I now live and work in South West France which is also beautiful, but very different! Have a great trip! Dan
Hi Billy, I'm really happy that it was useful. It will be amazing. It's great to do a small one as a first. Literally an hour ago, I've just got home from Berlin where I ran the Berlin marathon yesterday. 50,000 runners, an estimated 1,000,000 spectators. Just a bit different! Both were great experiences though. Good luck! 🙂🏃♂️
In all the years I’ve been going up to the Loch Rannoch Highland Club in September, I never knew there was a marathon ran there in October!! I think I’ll be changing my week next year!! Thanks for sharing your video Dan.
I'm really happy to know my film revealed that! Thank you for your kind words. I ran Berlin 2 weeks ago and made another film. I'll post it in a day or two. It was amazing! 47,000 runners instead of a couple of hundred, but both are magic in their own ways. Best wishes from France, Dan
@@iainncampbell1186 Hi Iain, congratulations to you! It's a beautiful course. As it's quite small you have moments of solitude. Big city marathons are a completely different experience. The little roads are open, although you hardly see any cars, so if you have family/friends present, they can be a support crew like mine!
Thank you for the video - I am running this marathon in October and I have been able to find very little information about the race, how much support, facilities etc there will be.
Hi there, I'm really happy it was useful. There is parking with portaloos (see opening of the video) - usual queues - I got there early! There was water every 5km or so, but no food. Well organised. Very friendly as it's quite a small field. After 15 miles, you're likely to be alone which was weird! The half starts later going the opposite way so if you're quickish, you're likely to pass some of them. As it is essentially a lap of the Loch on open (very quiet) roads, my family drove to the other end and gave me Lucozade etc. It's beautiful, quite hilly - a couple of big ones between 10-15 miles. Good luck!

Excellent video Dan. You’re right the scenery on that run looks spectacular!
That's very kind! Thank you for watching it. 😁
Thanks Dan, really enjoyed your video.... don't know how I missed all that scenery 👌
Thank you Colin! I think we we're so engrossed, and knackered, it's easy to miss. I had my mind on getting some good footage so that helped.
