grandma and gramps moved into this lot by themselves when they were younger & lived in the barn first, the big house wasnt built yet. gramps was very handy and built the whole house (maybe with some friends too) while grandma tended the rest of the farm and their family began. gramps died after the farm house was built & after they had had a couple kids. grandma raised them and told stories about how wonderful their gramps was.
@@goldfishaddict4681 she could do that, the grandma would still survive, but she would be like a dead weight. Kayla: I want to use the ridiculous curtain swatch My mother, in 2001, looking at IRL curtains that look exactly like that: these are perfect for my kitchen
I used to love the white lights but I realized the yellow tone looks alot more homey in my opinion like it reminds me alot of my memories in my old house and makes me sad but also warm and happy 🤧
What you could do to prevent sims from walking all the way to the barn when they eat is to lock the door for only grandma so the other sims don’t go in there
IKR - more stuff to delete once downloaded. Do you think she realizes that a LOT of people are going to flat out delete all of the interiors here? So many ridiculous absurd colors, furniture choices, etc. etc. A grand piano in the DOORWAY to the backyard - need I say more?
Love the modern beach house idea for next one! and love that faux-attic thing, not only looks good, but it is actually functional in way, to store some of the items (I know we have Inventories lol)
I truely love these Let's Builds, I find them so fun to watch and feel like I'm apart of the process and like seeing how you think about objects in such detail!!
I love the grandma's room. Huge grandma vibes. Also The lamp in the grandma's barn reminds me so much of the lamp my grandparents used to have in their upstairs bedroom that was a touch lamp that you could adjust the brightness just by touching it.
I’m at 18:40 and I’m imagining like the farm being a fixer upper and the person/couple stays in the barns cottage for the while they are fixing up the big house.... a concept. I love that
Paused half way through this video Found your channel hours ago and been binge watching since 😂 Whenever you mention a legacy family it reminds me of one family I played for MONTHHSS. I started off with 1 sim in sims3, and she basically had nothing to begin with because I didn’t use any cheats that time and she worked her butt off constantly and even when she wasn’t actually working, she was painting and selling her art and she used to garden, exercise and all this other stuff and whenever she got level 10 on something I’d put her plaque on a wall. Then when she finally had enough money to move, I moved her into a bigger house and she went out of looked for a boyfriend. They got married and more money was coming in and they had a baby girl. The dad was almost and elder by the time they got married so he died quite early on and then the mum and daughter were living and the daughter got married and had a baby boy while the grandmother was getting old and dying and it was my favourite family Ever. Eventually the fam was able to get all the nice things and a beautiful house and the cycle continued for so long. And then after days of playing it, I forgot to save before bed for those nights (id leave it running over night and just let them do their thing in speed 1) and we had a black out 😭😭😭😭 so I lost motivation to keep playing that after I got so much done
I want to start the Disney Princess challenge and this is the perfect house for the 1st legacy. I can see grandma Snow White living in that guest house. Oooh I’m excited to download this house. Amazing build!!
I LOVE this series, i loved the last lets build to. Theyre really helping me through a tough time, Thank you. And Please make another one When you finish this house
Yess!! Thank you for putting it on the gallery! I was probably going to change it a lot to my own preference anyway, finally the family I made for this since the first episode won’t be homeless!
for the barn put functional doors and items just for grandma and then you can just lock the door for everyone but grandma so no one else can that space
I imagine a sunflower farm that momma has in the back (the farm land in the back) and she, grandma, and the kids go out every sunday and pick the prettiest flowers they can find for the flower arrangements!
I usually put the decorations bin in the attic, but I put an attic bedroom in the New Start house because one of my kids married her and moved in there. They had 6 kids together. I moved her office into the living-room, made the landing into a toddler and eventually daughter's room. Expanded the stairs platform and a door on it to make a pretend closet for the girls. The attic space might be where my sim retires to, if I decide not to keep her on the main lot. I sneak into all my kids' homes and put in enough beds for everyone some pet stuff because I hate a sad cat begging for a litter box. I call these "Grandma Makeovers"
I like the modern beachhouse idea! But I also think an apartment building could be cool (like the City Living ones, but functional with multiple floors etc)
I'd say grandma doesn't know how the computer works but she definitely has a tv. Grandma was around when they were invented and probably grew up sitting in front of them. *From experience* My Grandma probably spends 85% of her day watching old tv shows and crime dramas, 10% talking on the phone, and 5% everything else.
Okay but I have to admit Grandma's house is despicable, the floor plan and the 'kitchen' and everything oh my god. im going to download this from the gallery and fix it because I can't not. P.S. im sorry Kayak I love you and your designs but I feel like you botched Grandma's house she deserves luxury
I like the yellow toned lights. They’re cosy and make everything look warm. Even in real life I hate blue, cold lights, especially in changing rooms, everything just looks awful.
Kayla, this series is SO helpful. I'm not the strongest Sims 4 builder, so your tips & tricks are really helpful--especially so I don't make god awful builds anymore lol.
When I don't want my sims to eat at a certain table I free place the chairs and then add the table in after so they're not snapped together as a "set." Then my sims will (hopefully) go to the actual dining table instead of eating the fancy meal at the kitchen bar stools.
I can’t wait for my sims to move here lol. I’m gonna edit the barn to try and make an attic apartment and have the first floor be stables using the farm mod to have livestock. I’ll also be using the roommate mod to have a farmhand live in the apartment and work for the family (I’ll probably just cheat out the money), and probably have him end up with the family’s daughter
hey kayla, for your next lets build i would suggest maybe like a little tudor cottage or bigger house but definitely tudor and for windenburg. or for the modern beach house you could build that on the windenburg island!
A challenge for lilsimsie: Benjamin Button this house down to smaller and smaller price points until it's down to a cheap starter home entirely in the barn. Like, make a version that has a couple of rooms for the teens in the barn and no second floor in the main house, the master bedroom and a room for the kids replacing a couple of the downstairs rooms. Then a version that has a functioning kitchen and master in the barn, kids rooms in a fraction of the downstairs main (demolishing the other rooms). Then a version where the whole house is in the barn, no main house at all.
You're giving me ideas! I'm going to make my own grandparents, who went from rags to riches together by making the best of their skills, learning new skills, and using the farmland that they inherited from my great grandfather. They've done everything from beekeeping to shrimping to raising sheep. Grandma even went to college to become a nurse. They had nothing to begin with and now they're always vacationing and sharing their money with the orphans and our family.
I think an old apartment building or like townhouse would be nice with multiple families, like a family with little kids in one, elders in one, a single guy in one etc
I was thinking about a modern house, that would be a great challenge! Also, this build is amazing and I love watching you, you’re my biggest inspiration 💚
So i like how in the lets builds we get to see kayla freak abt the actual build and talk abt it and stuff and then in speed builds she like freaks out abt life with us and tells us stories and its like SAME

This is so bittersweet
Why am I crying at an imaginary family :(

you made me happy then made me sad
Just lock the doors for everyone else but grandma in the barn
Kaitlyn Leavell I was coming to comment that as well! Haha I was so excited that I finally had a good solution on a video!
The first time I read this comment I thought you were saying she should lock the grandma in the barn

Yessss!!!
i love your pfp!
GENIUS
I love yellow toned lights. They're so much more warm and nice than the sterile white lights. They remind me of a hospital or something.
Idk, yellow lights make me nauseous and kind of claustrophobic because my mind thinks there's no natural light which means no windows.
I used to love the white lights but I realized the yellow tone looks alot more homey in my opinion like it reminds me alot of my memories in my old house and makes me sad but also warm and happy 🤧
warm yellow lights are more realistic cuz a lot of houses (or the ones I've seen) have warm lighting and not bright white lights :-)
omg same
Blahkabelison or a science lab lol 😂
The couch in grandmas barn looks like Geoffrey landgrabbs shirt....
Cameron Ferland Only sims stans will understand. Lol
Grandma stole Geoffrey's shirt and made a sofa out of it
oH MY GOD-
I love that you noticed that
Maybe Grandma went out on the town and had a one night stand with Geoffrey and stole his shirt to make into her couch, wild Grandma.. wild.
Nooo . . . We needed Grandma to have her homemade patchwork quilt on her bed
I know it's been 4 months but I soooo agree. When she was swatching I was like "Quilt. Quilt. QUILT!!"
What you could do to prevent sims from walking all the way to the barn when they eat is to lock the door for only grandma so the other sims don’t go in there
you should put an old baby crib in the attic!
Some how this is going to be longer than The Sim Supply’s series
Hailey Titchkosky lol imagine
I'm honestly waiting for Simsie's farming legacy in this house. I would for sure watch that! 😊
Can this channel just turn into simsie building legacy farmhouses. Please and thank you.
YES! I would love that ~
Welcome to: Kayla spends half an hour building grandma’s house making it completely not functional...Love that for us 😂
