  • "Quest for Living Water 2022" is organized by Amity Foundation Hong Kong, in response to the challenges in sustainable development, and to help people in the world who lack water and sanitation.
    7 SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School students joined this year’s challenge. They designed creative fundraising projects in the past month, and they edited their creativity into videos.
    At the final stage of the challenge, students are competing with the fundraising amount and the number of “likes” of the videos. 🥰

    Video Description by Albert:
    Have you ever considered being able to drink water as lucky? I dont think so, and I don't blame you, as we can get clean water whenever we want anyways. But there are people around the world who can't even get a drop of it. And in this video I'm going to talk about a village boy who went out to search for clean water.

    Background info
    ===================
    I've joined a charity activity called Amity Apprentice Quest for Living Water organized by the Amity Foundation. The activity requires participants to design a challenging quest, complete a quest, make a promotional video about it (which is this video), and to gain donations.
    ===================
    Things I've learnt throughout this activity
    ===================
    Video editing skills
    Have to admit, I am addicted to watching UA-cam videos all the time, and the thing which amazed me the most wasn't the content nor the people in the video, but the flawless editing of it, and video editing was something I never knew how to do before joining this activity.
    This video I've made is far from perfect, but at least when making it, I got to add video effects for the first time, I got to trim the clips for the first time, I got to add my voice cover for the first time, and thus, I've learnt the basics of editing a video.
    2) Be convincing
    Most people think being able to express your ideas clearly is the first step to communicate successfully with others, and they're not wrong. But when it comes to convincing others to do what you say, it requires much more than putting your ideas into words.
    In this activity, I need to ask people for donations, and in the process I had to learn how to be persuasive so that people would be interested in donating to me.
    3) How to plan an activity
    To be honest, I've never planned an activity in detail before. Most of the times it had been done by my parents and my friends, with me being the participant.
    So through this activity, I get the chance to plan the quest all by myself, bit by bit, and to take all possible factors which may affect the quest into consideration. Even if unexpected things happened during the quest, I'll have to quickly think of a plan to overcome it.
