HI David, I just let them go without flipping. Like you said, they get heat from all around. I saw no difference from the tops to the bottoms. Great question.
This is totally genius, I am excited to try this recipe!!! Thank you for the awesome content in your videos, I truly enjoy them and even after 12 years as an egghead, I still learn a lot from you.
Not good, did not like them at all, the Wife and I couldn't finish them, to dry, flavor so, so. Probably the worst thing that I cooked on the Big Green egg!! Maybe some people might like them, but no for us!!
keilbasa sounds good! I was thinking linguica would be great because I learned a recipe where its cut into pieces then cooked with zinfandale wine, like half a bottle, until the wine is like glaze.
:wheels turning: Captain Ron, could these be prepared ahead up through the saucing stage, and then brought elsewhere in a crockpot? I generally don't have an hour smoking time available to me at gatherings elsewhere, but I could probably get access to a grill or even a broiler to char them. I could then offer both styles, if they'll hold up.
@@FOGOcharcoal In my mind I can see them being a ramped up version of the old Vienna sausage in chili sauce and grape jelly pot luck staple, which is what made me wonder if they would work.
Thanks Ron for the great idea of cooking Hot Dogs as Burnt ends. I bet the char did add that extra touch to the taste! Hey, I can afford these burnt ends now that food cost has gone thru the roof. I going to get so Hot dogs to do this to impress the family next time they are over.
Guy comes home with a big smile on his face and has a new XL Egg with accessories in the back of the truck. Puts it all together and wife asks how much. He says $2000 but it's the best grill ever made. Wife is now dreaming of the gourmet meals he is going to be serving. She asks 'What's for dinner?'. He says 'Hotdogs'. $2000 cooking apparatus to cook $1.99 hotdogs!
Just wanted to say, I just used the super premium FOGO for a low and slow pork butt. HIGHLY recommend this brand. Cannot say enough good about the quality of the lumps
@@FOGOcharcoal Really like the wood quality, I like the story of how the wood is sourced and , I like that it is ethical. You guys really don't do enough to promote your brand
Do you flip them or just leave them cooking because the BGE cooks it all around?
HI David, I just let them go without flipping. Like you said, they get heat from all around. I saw no difference from the tops to the bottoms. Great question.
@@FOGOcharcoal Thank you. Love your channel.
Try these, did not them, both the wife and I could'nt lfinish them, to dried out, it was a loss!!!
These really did blow my mind. Make them, you won't be sorry!

Whoa…. This is a game changer!! Can’t wait to try this!
They're so embarrassingly good!
Cool -- As much as I like the char I think on these I would finish up after the sauce stage. Good stuff 👍
Fair enough!
Hi Ron, I'm going to try these tonight, I'll let you know!! Love your videos!!
Great! How did they turn out?

Love the channel! Keep em comin!🤙🔥🍖
Thanks Tom, I really appreciate the support!
That’s an incredible idea and a great appetizer. I would probably lean more towards the ones with the char at the end.

These are awesome!
So are you.
Fantastic!
Thank you my dear friend!
Hey Ron looks fantastic but what about the dipping sauce???
I haven't seen them with a dipping sauce! The BBQ sauce was enough for me. What do you use?
This is a really fun and delicious way to make hot dogs!
Oh heck yes! I love making these! Have you ever tried doing this with smoked sausage or kielbasa? I highly recommend it!! 😁🔥🔥
No, but I definitely will now. Especially since you say its good!

Great video. Such a goofball 😂
We can't even argue with that!
They look really tasty, love the char! 🔥
Yes sir, I was really surprised at just how good they were.

You are very welcome Keith. I was going to title the video "Poorer Man's Burnt Ends" lol. They are inexpensive and SO good!
@@FOGOcharcoal That would of been a good title too!
These are happening very soon! 🥕. Stay tuned!
This I cannot wait to see!

You know how great they were!
Where do I find the rack the dogs were on when transferred to the Egg? Do you have a link?
I do not. It is just a roasting rack that I had in my cabinet.
