I have psychogenic non-epileptic seizures. It's kind of like a panic attack on steroids that hits you again and again throughout the day, everyday, disrupting breathing, speech, vision, balance and motor functions. I bought Amazon Echo for music and meditation by voice command. It has made hell tolerable on some level. Keep listening. Keep breathing. Keep living.

this song, along with Wish You Were Here, are perfect examples of how brian + danny + their whole crew of silly people can bring some of the hardest emotions that you'd never expect from a comedy musical group.
Yes. THIS. One of my favorite things about these covers that NSP has done is how Danny's voice really makes you FEEL the song. The emotion is all laid out for the listener to experience full-strength. Danny Did You Know does that for me as well, but the cover songs definitely hit harder than their usual material. :P

I always wondered what it would be like to have synesthesia (i'm not diagnosed or anything) but one day at school I had a massive panic attack, took so many puffers, I must have been a little high but I started seeing sounds, it was absolutely terrifying and beautiful at the same time.

My particular brand of synesthesia is Color-Sound-Texture, so a sound has a distinct color and texture associated with it that I can see in the air or sometimes feel on my skin, and when I touch things, I will get flashes of color and sound in my mind.
And it wasn't really a shock to me when I found out, so much as a "oh, cool. I have this thing! That's why I get weird looks when I say the school chairs sound like grey screeching

Edit: I think the main problem NSP had on Conan (other than stage fright) is that the album version of "Danny Don't You Know" has a lot of studio effects in it - stuff that was notably missing in that live performance. I love that this song sounds more raw.
They've since done live performances of Danny Don't You Know that have been much better. You can tell they were just super nervous on Conan, also I don't think their audio levels were mixed property beforehand.

I think the problem with Conan was that the audience wasn't to into it. They were there to see Conan and NSP was just a band that played, so they weren't excited. It's hard to perform with a lot of energy if the audience isn't reciprocating.
