The beds are the best on Carnival. I want to wake up early every morning when on a cruise, but the beds on Carnival are amazing and make it hard to get out of bed.
Another fine video as expected. You guys continue to deliver that down to earthiness narration and explanations of your adventures. I particularly liked this video because it was just days before the lockdown. You have reminded us of what "normal" used to be, and will be soon back again! Keep up the great work! Don't goooooo changin' 🤗🤗🤗
Way to go with the ship on a stick winnings! I love how you are like "maaaybe Mega Deck party, but probably not, so goodnight!" That snorkeling and sunshine and swimming can definitely WEAR you OUT!! It's so nice to watch these videos right now in the midst of all this continued pandemic shut down stuff!
Once I was shrimping off my uncles dock in Savannah. A little tiny baby crab was in the next t. I got him out and he clamped onto my finger. To get him to let go I had to dip him in boiling water.
Hi ya'll. We always cruise out of New Orleans because we live about 40 miles from there in coastal Louisiana. Just wanted to tell ya'll how much I enjoy the Vlogs on UA-cam. Keep it up, thanks for all the Footage. The Vedros'.
Thanks so much! We've only been to NOLA once for a B2B, but we loved exploring. We've slated to be back there in 2023 for the mega-vlogger-group-cruise-extravaganza, ha ha... can't wait!! :P
We were on the Triumph it’s next to let soling last year. The rooms had already been remodeled. It is hands down the best cruise bed I’ve slept on. 8 months later I was on the Dream for 10 nights, and had the same mattress. So maybe they are slowly upgrading all of the beds.
ParoDeeJay yes. They finished all the rooms while it was still the Triumph. They also had Pasta Bella closed because they were starting to turn it into Cucina already.
Oh, this makes me want to visit Half Moon Cay SOOO bad! Fun day! And it just dawned on me that it didn't seem to bother Dee to have a snorkel mouthpiece in her mouth!! That would have been terrible to not be able to snorkel after dental work! Glad that worked out ok, because that was great fish/crab footage!
She had recovered pretty well at that point, plus they had been working on some back teeth, but she was a little sore after such intense snorkeling action!! :D
Good job with the ship on a stick! I don't have one of those, but do have a medal for participating in the hairy chest contest on the Carnival Liberty. Might give another one a try in the future. :)
Thankee! My personal mission is getting one ship trophy per sailing, and we've done it so far other than a couple of ships that had run out of trophies in the past, hah... it's a silly goal, but a fun one!! :P
I got 2 questions for yall.. one what camera did yall use for your underwater shots here.. and two where did dee get that swimsuit, my girl would love that
Heyo! Back in 2020 when we did this video, we were using the GoPro Hero 5 Black but we've since upgraded to the GoPro Hero 9 Black, which is still one of their "older" models these days, ha ha... and the swim rashguard is from Old Navy a looooong time ago!! :P
I love hearing Dee talking underwater! When I used to attempt snorkeling - if I tried to talk I would swallow a whole lot of salty ocean water (and apparently I thought my snorkel was a big straw)! I’m not a strong swimmer like Dee - so snorkeling was a challenge for me (and the fish looked so BIG through the snorkel mask)! I did attempt some snorkeling excursions but they were the kind that took you out on a boat/catamaran and you’d have to swim in deep water - and I’d have to fight the undertow to get back to the boat!! BTW - when I first started cruising I was convinced that there was really only one private island & all the cruise lines would have a part of the island (East/West/North/South - Carnival/Princess/Royal Caribbean/NCL) - I do know that Princess’s private island is on Eleuthera!!
Yeeeah, it took me a while to get into the rhythm of snorkel breathing, and it's still not my favorite, hah... that's why I leave the fish footage up to mermaid Dee!! :P ~Jay
I hope the buffet was better there than at Princess cay. We have been there once the last three years and it was so bad each time. Rc has the best private island cruise at labadee Haiti that we have had to date.
It’s about the same food at Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays. The burgers tend to be dried out, but the dogs are usually decent. Sides pretty good. Desserts pretty bad, hah. Coco Cay has the best island food by far, followed by Ocean Key for us. We’re supposed to hit Labadee in October and Great Stirrup in December for the first time so we can check those out as well. Whoop whoop!!
So, exactly what on this Island is included with the cruise? Lunch, beach chair? You said you can use your sail and sign card for some purchases? Which purchases would those be? Thanks
Great video! When Dee gets her snorkeling footage is she just holding the camera? We have a go pro and a handheld floating stick it can mount on. I have only used the floating stick up to this point but am thinking it may be easier for me to mount it on my full face snorkel mask. Any suggestions or preferences? Thanks!
Yes indeed, just handheld with wrist strap and the floaty handle just in case it slips. We've never tried mounting it to an actual mask, but that would be interesting!!
We bought our own sometime around late 2016 just because we figured it was something we'd end up renting over and over if not, and it has really paid off for Dee at least!! :P
I just got a GoPro as a gift! I have one of those yellow float things Dee has. Question, can you just put the GoPro in the water...it’s truly waterproof?? Do I need a covering?
Ours are the old GoPro Hero 5 Black model, which was the first to be waterproof without a case. So if you have a 5 or newer, you should be good, at least up to 30 meters or 30 feet or whatever the box says, ha ha... :P
Dee is always in snorkel mode and she wears contacts, but I don't have a prescription mask and won't wear contacts. Floating around looking at blurry blobs isn't that exciting, plus I prefer to just float and relax, ha ha... :P ~Jay
Here in the Bahamas, the whole structure of catching, selecting to be eaten and actually eating Barracuda calls for great experience and expertise. This is not for your average Joe. Trust me, many persons have ended up in the ER for Barracuda poisoning. It is such a great tasting fish but I am extremely cautious and often hesitant to eat it.
Oh wow, I didn't even know folks could eat them. Never really thought about it, but I don't know that it would be worth the risk of getting sick. Yow!!
@@parodeejay Yeah, they are eaten but any persons prefer not to eat them. However, these ones that are close to the shorelines that Dee captured on video are NEVER eaten because they are too small and most likely highly contaminated. Fishermen would go much further out on the seas to retrieve the larger ones.

I am enjoying your videos on this cold valentines day 2021.
Thankee thankee! Hopefully we can all get back out to warmer weather at sea again soon!! :P

16:25 ooh I would've been so happy, I love the ship models.
Going on the sunrise in December. Can't wait!

Dee I feel ya sista! If I hear a song I like I can't help singing along. Looks like you had a great time with the steel drum performer. Great vlog!
I felt that way on the breeze in 2013!! (Beds soooo comfy). The only comparable bed I have ever had was on Disney Dream.
We've had some nice cruise beds in the past, but I don't know what made these so much better, ha ha... :P
Love it Love it yall are too funny
The beds on the Holland America ships have been extremely comfy. They sell them and I have seriously considered getting one!
Hi guys oh my gosh the beds are amazing !!!!
I’m so impressed by your snorkel footage. #goals!
Thankee thankee!! :D
Admittedly it took me 2 seconds before I literally burst out laughing at "cutest little nuggets" 😂! Loved the tiny crabs! This was fun, thanks!
Tiny chickens, tiny crabs, hah... super cute!! :P
Once I was shrimping off my uncles dock in Savannah. A little tiny baby crab was in the next t. I got him out and he clamped onto my finger. To get him to let go I had to dip him in boiling water.
I loved Half Moon Cay......so beautiful
Loved that island, the water was so clear and beautiful. Oh and yes, the beds on the ship were very comfortable. Another great video.
Definitely the clearest water and prettiest sand we've ever seen!! :D
Dee & Jay! We love your VLOGS!! We enjoyed our visit to Half Moon Cay and love the memories you made me remember about being there!!
After such a long HMC dry spell, we were excited to finally make it back, ha ha... :P

Woohoo, hope you have a fantastic cruise!! :D
Jay I bet those 6 miles you walked were up hill both ways.....lol! Thanks for another Great Video.
Uphill both ways in the snow, nonetheless! Or maybe it was just really white sand that I thought was snow... hmmm... :P

Oh nice, so they had already started refreshing to rooms, even as the Triumph? I guess that does make sense. We loved that bed though!! :D
ParoDeeJay yes. They finished all the rooms while it was still the Triumph. They also had Pasta Bella closed because they were starting to turn it into Cucina already.
9:25 ....The Half Moon Cay souvenirs have just arrived from China....
The music you had playing at dinner reminded me of lady and the tramp 😂❤️. Love it !
Haaah, that's why I picked it. I always liked that royalty-free track!! :P
Tons of awesome fishie footage!! Dinner looked ahhmazing!
Certainly a successful day at Half Moon Cay when it comes to fish spotting! Thanks for sharing!
If there are sea creatures to be seen, Dee will find them!! :P
The Chapel was absolutely adorable. Love the Vlogs🏖
Those little tiny crabs in shells are called hermit crabs. Galveston is full of them.
We used to have some hermit crabs in a terrarium a while back, but hadn't seen any that tiny before!! :D

ParoDeeJay awesome. We enjoyed labadee a lot. Plentt if from for everyone to spread out. Where is ocean key never heard of that one.
Funny to see the green barge Legacy pull in because I am the captain of that vessel.
The barge that was bringing the equipment and all in? That's awesome!! :D
Good job in trivia Jay
So, exactly what on this Island is included with the cruise? Lunch, beach chair? You said you can use your sail and sign card for some purchases? Which purchases would those be? Thanks
Lunch, beach access, and chairs. That’s about it, hah. Ship card should be good at bars and the Carnival gift shop. Local vendors require cash.
Did you find any changes on Half Moon Cay from 4 years ago? Loved the snorkeling footage. Awesome day! Thank you.
It looked exactly how we remembered, with the exception of the new upcharge Lobster Shack option. Still just as awesome as ever!! :D

FYI, "Carnival's Half Moon island has a 2,5 ml / 4 km long beach...' cruise mapper.

Hey Dee, where did u get your swim suit? I love the long sleeves.
Old Navy!!
@@parodeejay Thanks. Have a blessed Weekend!
Dee, where do you get your Seas the day hat?
It's a Roxy brand, but they can be found around second-hand on places like eBay, Poshmark, Vinted, etc.
See that's what happens when you bring a Royal Caribbean cup on a Carnival ship. You drop and break it.
Half Moon Cay will not tolerate such shenanigans!! :P
Ciao Bella Dee Marie!
When was you guys last cruise before COVID19??
We debarked (or is it disembarked, hah) the Crown Princess on March 6th.
Lots of fish, I noticed you are never wearing a mask….don’t like to snorkel?
Looked like a nice relaxing day.
Dee is always in snorkel mode and she wears contacts, but I don't have a prescription mask and won't wear contacts. Floating around looking at blurry blobs isn't that exciting, plus I prefer to just float and relax, ha ha... :P ~Jay

Hey guys love your videos, I'm sure you've addressed it before but I wanted to know what camera are you using? It takes excellent video.
We put it down in the description of every video because we do get that question a lot, hah!! :P
Squidmonster I asked this question yesterday 😂 It’s in the description!

Good ol' Barry the barracuda, ha ha... Dee normally wears a waterproof Fitbit, yep!! :D
