id need to purchase the vocal rack 1st correct? and then buy the template from you correct? now will i be able to use them on my the DAW that i utilize Cakewalk by Bandlab? this same question is why ive yet to purchase a vocal template/ chain from you?
How are you getting the two track to start with? When I rip beats online and bring them into my daw, they are just one track. Do I need to make my beats two track?
I’ve gain staged my mix so it peaks at -6 on master fader and everything is clean, when I export the mix and listen to it through my phone it sounds fine but when I turn the volume up it starts to distort, is this down to it not being mastered and there being no limiter? Or is this a problem within the mixing stage? If anyone could help I’d appreciate
As an engineer im usually turning your beat down -6db off the jump if its a 2 track. That’s -12db technically. Throw a decent limiter on there and leave some headroom.
Bro please make something on pop or R&B types vocal mix it's the biggest challenge actually I don't think rap vocals need much attention while mixing as much as pop or r&b vocals want.. so please do these topics also in next video....
It doesn't matter, just don't clip. Peaking begins to matter when you are adding plugins or using external hardware in which case you want to go in at -18, sometimes -12, it really depends on what your plugin manuals say and if the plugin is emulating old hardware.
Thanks i learnt a lot. But how do you create headroom with a mastered beat? Reducing the volume to create headroom seems to hide the components of the beat especially when its an mp3 beat
An .mp3 of a mastered beat is not ideal for many reasons. You should try and work with .wav files to ensure best quality. Anyway, you create headroom by lowering the clip gain and having space below zero. then once you mix your vocals in you bring everything back up with a limiter or other plugin to add gain in which case all elements will be brought back up together
@@Hugoknots hey bro, 2 questions: U said bring back elements with a limiter. Would that be done in the mastering stage or the mixing stage itself? 2nd question is: if i downloaded an mp3 beat, can i convert it on an online file converter to WAV? Will it be better quality?
Can someone from Devvon camp please answer my email about the download link I just purchase it won’t open. I have sent several emails and pictures explaining. but no one is hitting me back. Thanks
Question bro! So when I record with a preset on, my vocals come in processed. However, if I like the way it sounds when I am monitoring, but I don't like how it sounds when I listen to it back, what do I do then? Because the compression was already applied to the vocal coming in, so it's hard compressed whether I take the plug-ins off or not. I record on FL, so maybe that's one of the issues that I have.
Fl studio has an option to record with effects on but not have them in your recording. By the option where you select your mic it says pre and post. Pre records a clean take but you here it with the effects on. You can either keep.them or change it or get rid of them altogether after your done recording. Post glues them to the track
you a beast... would be dope If you could make a video mixing and mastering with all your studio rack presets.the two track preset, the vocal preset, and the mastering preset!
Not didn’t even show the db’s after inserting that gain staging plug-in ‘ after the fact he said not to throw a plug-in on the insert before lowering the gain on the actual channel inserts
@@celluecollorebestmandlamin953 You can use your VW meter plugin if you have it to visually see what you are going while you are gain staging.
