I love listening to him in interviews. He has an AMAZING voice, but much more than that, I love how thoughtful and profound he is. I could listen to him talk all day!

All very wonderful questions--congrats to those who had them asked, and thank you Richard Armitage for the time taken to answer. 22:16 For my blind father-in-law I made an audiobook version of the book his mother put together (whom passed away 6 years ago), which he never read because he went blind before it was published. I was BARELY able to hold myself together. I had to stop recording often to cry for an hour.
I so much enjoyed seeing and listening to this. Thank you. Mr Armitage...you are a wonderful man! Talented, humble, handsome , compassionate I wish you joy and good health in 2021!
Richard you are a similar age as my loving son and enjoy your story about your mother. Mothers love forever and for eternity. YOU ARE SO LOVED FOR ALL YOU DO. God loves you and are blessed. you are amazing.
@Richard Armitage I just saw a reply from you R. A. You are so kind. Enjoy your acting and narrating for Audible. Take care of your golden voice and great talent. Looking forward to more of your movies. God Bless.
He's 50 in August!...as much as I adore this man, and I DO - Barbara Broccoli wouldn't and couldn't even contemplate casting a fifty-year old as Bond. She likes to get at least three films out of each of her men, (it's a long and expensive process, I'm suspecting) and with each film being at LEAST two to three years apart, he'd be well over 60 by the time of the third. Daniel Craig was around 36 when first cast. Also, from an acting point of view, Bond is a career killer - it may make the actor a household name, globally, and extremely rich, but as a ROLE, it's bland, it's artistically limiting, and limits enormously the future roles that Bond actors are offered. Look at Pearce Brosnan - he's done nothing of substance since his incarnation of 007. It will be very interesting to see, in five years time, if Daniel Craig has done anything interesting. So, NO, he's not perfect for Bond - he's infinitely better than that, and I'd hate to have seen his career take a dive because he was pulled to the 'dark side', ie, Hollywood films.
@@martinen.5025 I agree... I know the current list of actors who are apparently in running for Bond..was surprised Richards name was not even there coz he is a good actor apart from being good looking well spoken. But I guess you are right age is a big factor. BTW who do you reckon will be next Bond..? Most ppl say it will be Sam Hueghen.. What do you think?
@@Regipaul82 Re Richard and the Bond question - the optimum time (age AND career-wise) for him to have played him would have been pre or post-Spooks, (series 9 was shot in summer/autumn of 2010 and he was 39) but he had already signed up for Strike Back - then whilst doing Strike Back he got the Hobbity job, (which is why they had to write him out of the second series very quickly - he's in only the first episode of series 2). But even if he had been available post-Spooks, he was playing a British spy working for MI5 - Barbara Broccoli is not likely to cast an actor as a British spy working for the intelligence services, who's just spent three years playing a British spy working for the intelligence services - it's WAY too close to the character he's known for - in my humble opinion! I, for one, am EXTREMELY pleased he's never been at the top of their 'list' - he's far better suited to really interesting, rich, complex characters - just because the man looks incredible in a dinner jacket doesn't mean he should play Bond! Re the next Bond - remember that this so-called 'list' is put out by the media - newspapers have journalists updating it all the time - this 'list' is not put out by BB or her company, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the next Bond is an actor that is not even ON this list, but someone far less well known, even in Britain! But what do I know?!! 🤣 If you look back at the actors that she's cast in the past - not one of them has been known globally - they've all been known on a relatively small scale. A lot of people, even in Britain, hadn't heard of Daniel Craig - he was known mostly for Layer Cake and Our Friends In The North - both quite 'gritty' things that, although popular with certain people, is not a mass-audience genre.
@@martinen.5025 I fear the word you're searching for with James Bond is Gary Stu (the male version of a Mary Sue). A sort of idealized self-insert of the author/wish fulfillment fantasy, or just a rather bland character who is altogether too perfect and too good to be true. James Bond is often listed among typical "Mary Sue" characters, and I'm also kind of glad Richard Armitage was never lined up to play him. He plays complex and conflicted characters best, and yes, sometimes makes a great villain/antagonist as well. Although I don't feel they did his character justice even in Seasons 8-9 of Spooks. After Season 7 he became kind of cliched and formulaic.
Really interesting. He is a wonderful reader & his acting roles are great too. I am currently listening to audio library books by Joy Ellis about Detective Jackman and Richard is brilliant at portraying all the characters. Thanks Richard for making it so vivid.
