    Mam, thanks for Incredible lecture!..... i have one question regarding pressure drop calculation. their is two pressure drop accross the hairpin section (Inner pipe and bending section) and one pressure in annulus section. Then why we are calculating the two pressure drop in annulus section and one in tube side(inner pipe)?

    MIN 26.18, external surface area per foot= 0.435 ft2 . how this number arrived. what formula is used?

    The equivalent diameter De for heat calculation its not correct its ( d2^2 - d1^2)/d1 not (d2-d1) this is only for pressure drop

    for the third case how the no.of.hairpins in the annulus side is taken as 5 ,anyone please explain.

      Hello, it is given in Serth text book... I'm gonna type as it is... " Equation of LMTD correction factor is based on assumption that both parallel branches are identical" . Therefore they are using two banks of five hairpins... A total of 10.. They have taken parallel branches for dividing the flow... With the nine hairpins, flow will not be divided properly... Hence they have gone for 10 hairpins..
