Love this platy tank, sorry i'm 2 months late to watch it ;)
Always appreciate your time! :)
Platies and Cories are my favorite fish
Thanks for your story. The tank looks beautiful
Awesome, hope you still got this community tank. Love the community tanks, so many 50+ tanks are just cichilds or angel fish. This looks awesome, I think the Platy are very playful fish.
I think the plants you were asking about are bacopa or Ludwigia. Ludwigia repens is a great plant that I have in my 55 gallon with a beams work light. It starts of green and turns red with more light. Love the platies I have a 55 devoted to platies and I think they are way more than just a “beginner fish” as many call them. Your patience paid off the tank looks great.
I think these are the coolest aquariums- huge tank for lots of small beautiful fish.
Some blue mickey mouse platies would be great. A pop of color! 🐙
Like the tank and platy
I really love this tank.
Me to!
Great looking tank. I like the playties. They are very underrated. The blue one are my favorite.🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Lovely tank with the platys they’re one of my fav fish.
More tank footage would of been nice :)
The tank is beautiful, that spider wood is one of the nicest I have seen, and you have a great combo of plants and fish but I would find a new home for the Angelfish, and maybe add about 20 Cardinal Tetra.
I think the two stems you couldn’t identify are Bacopa, but I don’t know which variety. Great video!
That's what someone else told me to! Thanks!
@@DilettanteCulture bacopa caroliniana I think
Looks like bacopa, but not sure what species of bacopa. I absolutely love you tank though. My 75 gallon tank is still a work-in-progress.
Love It. Great job. Would love to see what it looks like now.
Thank you. Good job.
Awesome Tank!
Thank you!
Also if you like platys and they work for you keep doing them! I have neon tetras, harlequin rasboras, and rummy nose tetras as my main display fish, and I love keeping it simple!
The links do not work. But great video!
Woah! Can't believe I'm the first one to comment here! I live in the Cali Bay Area too and I'm totally new to this hobby; awesome to see your content! If you decide to have meetups or something, would be terrific!
It's a little late for tonight, but the San Francisco Aquarium Society meets on the first Friday of every month. I'll be at the Sacramento Aquarium Society meeting tomorrow night! It's free and there's an awesome auction!
The meeting tomorrow starts at 6pm, but most of us get there a hour early or so to register, get some food, and socialize!

I am inspired by your tank. Thank you
Constructive criticism: I clicked on the video to see the Platy's in a 75 gallon tank - since they're normally at pet stores or beginner hobbyist tanks (20g or so). The tank was blurry and you talked in front of a camera for 11 minutes. You're voice is fine. Skip the 2nd recording part. Tell us the rest. Show us the tank in focus for the majority of the video.
Awesome!
With live plants, tanks are always evolving. But it's great! I love the fiddling around with cutting plants, replanting... It's like a little underwater garden. Very relaxing activity!
How often do you add more root tabs?
Those 2 stems are bacopa carolinia!
#I #WAS #SHOCKED #TO #SEE #THAT #THIS #VIDEO #ONLY #GOT #ONE #THUMB #UP #SO #I #SMASHED #THAT #THUMBS #UP, #BECAUSE #THE #PLANTED #AQUARIUM #LOOKS #GREAT!
The Aquarium looks really good, you have some nice plants, I love the carpeting plants and the Anubia and Bucephalandra.
Thank you very much for sharing.
Have a nice day.
That two stems slow growing plant looks like a rotala bonsai. But as far as I know, rotala bonsai grows really quickly. 🤷🏻♂️
Like 👍 greatings
Please upload a video with no background music. I just want to know how much noise it makes.
I’ll enjoy the video a little more if the cámara focuses on the tank the entire time
Beautiful tank, just stunning. Is it sand on the bottom covered with the black stuff?
Thank you! And no, it is Black Diamond Blasting Media from Tractor supply. That's it. Basically cheap black "sand" like material
Beautiful tank❤❤❤, ever thought of adding shrimp?
I have thought about it! I have a cherry shrimp tank, so I was thinking maybe a different color, just haven't spent the money
@@DilettanteCulture I have Jade Shrimp if you'd like try some of those. These guys range from a dark emerald color to a light almost neon color(I haven't culled hence the color range) . I started off with 7 in March, and now I would say I have over 300. Cute little guys💚
What is you light schedule for the beamworks?
Great Video Kid keep up the great Work... But why did you Go with 2 AquaClear 110's yes they are Awesome Filters ( I have one on my 55 gallon Turtle tank ) but if I know better at the time I would have gone with a Fluval Canister instead.. JMO... Instead in your thoughts..👍💯👍👍👍💯
I've tossed the idea of using a Fx6 on the tank, but I went with HOBs specifically for ease on maintenance.
Yes the 110 HOB's are Ez to maintenance.... But Awesome looking Tank Tho 👌
Keep up the good work.. 👍💯
How did you get rid of the tannin in your water from the drift wood?
Name of the octopus plant ?? It looks Amazing!
Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus. Available @ www.aquariumcoop.com
I’m inspired by this, I bought the 50 pound bags of sand. Did you use another type of nutrient soil or just root tabs?
I just picked up a 75G, to upgrade my smaller planted tank... I needed an idea what to do with it.... glad i stumbled upon this particular vid!! after watching few other vids (which are too complicated for my simpler mind lol)... i think my tank is gonna be pretty much like yours.... I also have a bunch of plantys and others, but my platys taken over!... another reason i have MTS (multiple tank syndromes currently, as my tanks started to overlystocked with them.... n i'm getting nervous... >_< lol)... My questions: do you use CO2 concentrator?? and i'm planning to just use 2 sponge filters instead of hang on the back or canister, do you think it'd work as good- as far as maintaining the water quality?? also, how's your red-tailed shark doing with the platys??? I've been thinking of getting one, but i heard it's pretty aggressive..... ? thnks again... I just sub to your channel..... :)
You mainly showed yourself talking vs the actual tank..
What kind of filtration are you using on that community tank??😁😁
Aquaclear 110 and Aquarium Co-op Large spongefilter on a Nano USB Airpump
Are you running any CO2 in this tank?
hey i just found you! what part of houston do you live in? or do you live outside of houston?
Good video, but show the overall tank more...especially when you're talking cause that's why we came here...zoomed in shots are greats but when you step back and look at the whole thing....oh man
Show the tank not your head
Get to the point!!
I would prefer less you and more tank
Let me summarize this video for yall: 11 minutes of straight up watching his face as he rambles off. This is so boring. You can ramble off as much as you want, but at least let us look at some fish and plants and interactions while you do so.
Amazing! I have to shout out Rob, I found your channel on his livestream. Thanks for doing a large planted tank with livebearers. A lot of people think they’re a waste on a tank this size but I love them 😊
My next purchase is a 75, I have a 4 40 Breeders and a bunch of 20 Long and high, but I really like the 75 and the 90, those are my next purchase, great video, I never even thought of the 75 until I found your videos.
Thanks for the love! Plants are looking great!!!
I appreciate them again!
