Always great hearing from you Lyndsie! Ana says hi! She has a performance on Wednesday so I’ll see if I can get my mic clipped to her and make a short out of it for you all at least! Thanks from us both ❤️🇲🇽🤗

We’re happy to be together and exploring a new place! I’m a Blazers fan myself, but who doesn’t love the Bulls?! We only had Pippen a couple years in Portland but were so stoked on it lol 😆. Much love from CDMX 🇲🇽❤️😎

Awesome tips my friend, thanks!! Bosque Chapultepec was one of our first stops and we will most definitely be back!! The air quality and calm over there is unreal for a city of this size. Much love from CDMX 🤗🇲🇽❤️

Very sorry to hear about your experience with police in PDC. Glad you are Okay. Being a former police officer it pains me each time I hear of this kind of thing. That officer is a disgrace to the uniform and gives the rest of us a black eye. Please, please, please go to the US Embassy while you are in Mexico City and report this individual. While nothing may come of it if enough people report these incidents they will be forced to do something about it. My best to you and Anna.
Thanks so much for the kind words my friend. It was deeply disappointing and sad that it’s such a common story. It has happened to more friends of mine than I can even count and always in coastal cities like Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Playa Del Carmen/Cancun. I keep hoping that the newly elected politicians can actually do something about this but it never works out that way and may be far beyond their control in reality. I will definitely consider taking the issue to the embassy. Thanks for the suggestion and for supporting the channel as well. All the best to you 🇲🇽❤️
We just did Coyoacán yesterday! Loved it, the video will be up tomorrow morning! We really enjoyed Los Viveros and that fresh air in the park. Thanks for the great suggestions and for checking out the video my friend 🇲🇽❤️
Mexico city was way different than what I was expecting . I thought I was going to be rolled before I got off the plane. Turns out all the horror stories I'd heard were wrong it's a great city
Great Vlog! Been to PV, Playa DC, Cancun many times never knew Cops were that bad jacking you. Anyways good job keeping it cool. New subscriber here take care!
Thanks George! I appreciate the feedback. Yea, the cops in the coastal cities can be pretty corrupt unfortunately. Here in CDMX they seem much better. Thanks for checking out my channel 🇲🇽😎❤️
I'm glad you went to Mexico City, that's a great choice. I really loved the point in your video where you essentially said about your experience in Playa del Carmen, "you're safe until you're not." During my time there I met a property owner from Montana who owned a fancy villa in Soliman Bay, one of the nicest areas of Tulum, and he told me that he kept his real cash rolled up in his sock and always has a few pesos in his pockets because he'd been shaken down by the police on the highway so many times driving back and forth to Playa del Carmen. He'd lived in the Yucatan for years and that's how he avoided getting ripped off. Sad but true.
once i get above 8000 feet in a city the air usually smells like car exhaust , good to hear that the air isn't so bad there in mexico city for living a few months per year. I liked mexico city on a prior trip but was a really long time ago. looking forward to the next videos to see your recommended neighborhoods and tours. it looks like it just keeps getting better and better though tbh
Yea no doubt, Quito was insane with that altitude and all that diesel exhaust. Have you been to La Paz, Bolivia? I’d like to go but definitely wonder about the whole being able to breathe thing! I have another video coming on Friday from a different neighborhood! Thanks for watching ❤️🇲🇽.
@@theropemonster no i haven't been to la paz, bolivia yet but always wanted to visit, i would guess that the air will be thin and diesely just because of the altitude and mountains around it. But i still want to go anyways as soon as possible but so many great places to go i havent made it yet, i like the temperatures at that altitude though! I'm headed to Lima soon, the weather is nice and mild there and the air quality is good because its right on the beach coast. I went to Cancun in March and the weather was amazing , I never realized it got nice down there in our american winter time. so that is what led me down the playa del carmen youtube rabbit hole, i could definitely spend a few months a year in the yucatan towns with that mild weather
Hi there. Cuauhtémoc is an "Alcaldía", similar to a borough in NYC that is comprised of many colonias. It appears that you are staying in colonia Juárez, located in the Alcaldía Cuauhtémoc. BTW, CDMX's gay neighborhood, la Zona Rosa, is located in la colonia Juárez.
The police in CDMX were friendly to me when i was there. I was in an "ok" neighborhood at night walking alone, not the most dangerous not the safest & I asked an officer & he told me strait up you will be fine just dont past the viaduct & stay on main road & you will be ok.
I really love them both honestly! The beach volleyball and chill vibes of Playa, the culture, history and food of CDMX!! Such different places but incredible in their own ways! Thanks for watching 🇲🇽❤️
I was in Playa Del Carmen, alone. I'm Fluent in Spanish, and originally from NYC. So, I'm very aware of my surroundings by default, lol. Don't mess with a NY-er, lol. Anyway, I never left my place there with my Purse. I would keep that and my Passport locked in the Room's Safe. I only brought my Credit Card and my Driver's License when I went out, both of which were tucked in my Bra. LOL. I also didn't take my phone out at all while walking. I hid it on me until I got to the Restaurant etc. I also tried to find people to walk with late night. Even if I didn't know them I'd ask if I could tag along so I wasn't walking alone. New instant friends. lol. I didn't have one issue while I was there. I walked around all hours, to the Market, Bar, Beach, Restaurants etc. I would suggest putting the Camera down more often in that type of environment. It definitely makes you easily identifiable, and prey essentially. No bueno. Stay safe going forward. If you need anything in Playa I have many Friends there who're Locals and good people! Just let me know!
Thanks Deana!! Really appreciate you sharing that! I would generally do the same, minimal cash, debit card etc but they caught me on my way back from the atm unfortunately. Should’ve just taxied home from the ATM as usual but they caught me slippin 😭. Lesson learned. Thanks for watching!
Nice walk for sure. My favorite is Coyoacan, San Angel, Chimalistac, La Florida. Its not pronounced COW- teh- mohc, its more like COO- AAWW- OOH- TEH- MOHC
Hello!! Did you ask where the arrow of "Diana Cazadora" is? It is an Easter egg that you have to find very close to the fountain... Just follow the path
So glad to hear that Dora! Welcome to the channel and thanks for watching ❤️🇲🇽🤗. I’ll keep the videos coming! I’ll be filming videos soon in the Coyoacán, La Condesa, La Roma and Polanco neighborhoods so keep an eye out for those!
It would be great if Cuauhtemoc does NOT become a foreign transplant or remote-worker destination like Roma Norte or Condesa, so best to keep it hush hush lol. I have stayed 3 times in this neighborhood, because it suits me very well. Tons of bars, restaurants, bakeries and cafes. So close to Reforma and easy walk to Roma. Most importantly, it is safe. You walked by 2 of the streets that we stayed on, when doing AirBnB. Oddly, I discovered how delicious Japanese Ramen was, at one of the restaurants in that neighborhood. Some of those side streets are truly very quiet and full of shady trees.
Wow. That’s a scary story. Ever heard of anything sketchy like that with other expats or gringos living down there? We’re looking to move to PDC which is why I ask. Thanks for the great videos. 🤘
Seems like it’s a fairly common story unfortunately. Seems ignorant to spook off the very people supporting the entirety of the economy there… especially someone like me who has been promoting tourism and expat life there to thousands of people. But I guess they don’t get the badge because of their intellect or understanding of macroeconomics 🤣🤣🤣. I would still say PDC is a great place to move and go for it!! Also keep in mind, the police NEVER messed with me unless I was alone. If you’re out with your partner or friends you should be just fine. They never once harassed me when I was with Ana. Thanks for watching Craig!! Best wishes on your move! 🇲🇽🏝️❤️😎

@@theropemonster Thanks - will definitely look into this neighborhood as well as Coyoacan which is where I was thinking to go first. Gracias por todos!
So were you robbed later that night AFTER the police creeped on you and learned where you lived? Or was this a second incident after the night you got robbed ? My friend lived in Puerto Aventuras for a year and she told me of situations like this in Playa and told us they didn’t feel safe there and that’s why they chose PA 🤷♀️
Cuahutémoc is too busy (car-wise) for me. I prefer Coyoacán (e.g. Del Carmen, Coyoacán), but it is expensive. It has everything , but is quiet at night and very walkable.
Hey, can't wait to see Ana's performance! Sorry that jerk PD harrassed you again. These people are giving Mexico a bad rep and should be reprimanded. Anyway, we'll follow you guys anywhere! PS. DO THE DOUBLE DECKER TOUR! I do all of them around the 🌎, including in my own town of Toronto. You see and learn so much! Buena suerte a los dos!
Jiji, thanks so much for the sweetness! Been a crazy few days. We were so burnt out when we started looking for a place here that we just took a pause, sat down in a coffee shop and played some Uno…it travels well 🙂. Thanks again for the sweet gift! We’re totally going to do the double decker tour asap!!! So much to see here! Abrazos de CDMX 🤗 🇲🇽❤️
@theropemonster Awwww, so happy you're still enjoying UNO! It was my pleasure 🙏🏼 You both have amazing positive energy and are very inspiring ✨️ Keep shining!
Awww man sorry to hear that. That's wild. Do you think it's because you made a report when they robbed you or were they just profiling you in general? Me and my boyfriend will be in Playa next week and have been watching your updates religiously and were hoping to run into you while we were down there. We live in San Antonio, Texas 🤘
It could be because of the report or because of the video I made saying that they robbed me or both. Either way it got to be too much harassment (I also don’t think they liked that I brought attention to the shooting in Colosio). I would’ve loved to have met you guys though.. maybe next trip. Definitely plan on going back to my beach life asap. Thanks so much to you both for supporting the channel!! Much love from CDMX 🤗🇲🇽❤️
So were you robbed later that night AFTER the police creeped on you and learned where you lived? Or was this a second incident after the night you got robbed ? My friend lived in Puerto Aventuras for a year and she told me of situations like this in Playa and told us they didn’t feel safe there and that’s why they chose PA 🤷♀️ But what about the BEACH 😭❤️
Great question Cheryl! I was robbed about 6 days BEFORE this incident where they just crept on me. They had also done a few “random” searches on me in April and May on CTM and 5th which was enough to piss me off because there was zero cause to search me, but at least they never took anything from me those times. Thanks for sharing the story about your friends. It’s disturbing how widespread this issue really is. I miss the beach, volleyball, my apartment and friends, but am making the most out of this trip and enjoying CDMX. Hopefully some changes will come to Playa soon but lately it seems like a lot of bad news and violence in the area.
is Mexico City safer thatn Playa? or can cops rob someone there also? it sucks that you were robbed by people (cops) that tourists thought were there to help and protect them
Yes the police seem a lot less corrupt here in CDMX for sure. Haven’t had any issues here and they seem respectful and helpful when asking for directions etc. thanks for watching 🇲🇽❤️
I had a weird feeling that someone was watching you. I believed that the other incident was planned and then executed. I am sorry that you're going through this. Stay safe and be careful.
I had that same feeling. As if they were waiting to catch me alone. Seems like they wanted me to stop making videos or someone who wanted me to stop might have paid them. I guess I’ll never know for sure but this last incident was one too many and made it feel necessary to leave and reflect for awhile. It was great getting to meet you in person albeit briefly, and I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts here and watching the video! 🤗 🇲🇽❤️
I'm sorry you were harassed by that crooked federali. I don't blame you for leaving! Your friend doesn't seem like she's having fun. I would've loved to have gotten on the dble deck bus! 😅 Take care!
Harry’s Steakhouse is a solid option and maybe the closest thing to 5 Star dining that I know of there.. and Nicoletta is maybe a half a notch below Harry’s but still has incredible cocktails, bread and entrees! Thanks for the great question my friend! 🥩 🇲🇽❤️🏝️
In Mexico there are a lot of traditions and customs and one of them is to be polite! If you want to ask a question you must first GREET the random person you approach! Remember you are not in your country!
"Too milky" that's a first! Otherwise that would be "too watery" I know those eyes rolling when you work in customer service for a while Ella es uno de esos 😒
Mexico city is beautiful but Ana is even more beautiful, sorry you got robbed by people that suppose to protect and serve thats really f.. up but look on the bright side, it's gonna be unlimited amount of video material for us and I have special request the doll island I hope you can do it for me

I almost bailed earlier in the video when Ana held up both hands and waved her fingers saying hi.Other than that it was interesting seeing that neighborhood.
@ well then you didn’t hear the part about them (the exact same officers) robbing me 2 weeks before that. No worries man. Thanks anyway for checking out the video
so u r annoying the hell out of me for continuing to mis-pronounce my fav nabe in cdmx - phonetic spelling coo-owh(hint at the H sound)t(soft T)(there is an accent in the E which means u press a little on the ay sound immediately following the soft T and then end with mock - start doing it slow and then speed it up after 100 times slow - so: coo-owh-tay-mock - hope u got that!!
I wonder how many Mexicans are in my home state mispronouncing Willamette, Terwilliger, Multnomah, Tualitan, and so on 😅😅. Take it easy, I’m working on it lol. Thanks for watching.

Definitely plan on going back to my beach life asap. Thanks so much to you both for supporting the channel!! Much love from CDMX 🤗🇲🇽❤️
Coyoacan is a really nice area of MX City. Lots of trees, great downtown area with many restaurants around the zocolo.
Nice, thanks for sharing that and for checking out the video 🇲🇽❤️
@@theropemonster Thank you for responding and creating great content ☺️❤️
😅 Take care!
im not. we dont want these ppl here either. the gotta go

Tepito is the best!
Do you know any FINE FINE restaurant in Playa del carmen? Like a really nice restaurant, not just some simple tacobar, a REAL NICE is what I mean!
Harry’s Steakhouse is a solid option and maybe the closest thing to 5 Star dining that I know of there.. and Nicoletta is maybe a half a notch below Harry’s but still has incredible cocktails, bread and entrees! Thanks for the great question my friend! 🥩 🇲🇽❤️🏝️
@@theropemonster Thank you!
@@theropemonster Is this the absolute nicest restaurant you know of?
jajaja no Ana!!!
CUAU-TE-MOC así se pronuncia niños 😉
Jajaja gracias corazon!! I feel like my pronunciation got worse throughout the video 🤣🤣😭. I’ve got it now, thanks!
😂😂😂 thanks for clarifying that 🙌🙌🙌
In Mexico there are a lot of traditions and customs and one of them is to be polite! If you want to ask a question you must first GREET the random person you approach! Remember you are not in your country!
I had just spoken with her 2 minutes before I filmed that and asked permission and greeted her. 🇲🇽❤️
"Too milky" that's a first!
Otherwise that would be "too watery"
I know those eyes rolling when you work in customer service for a while
Ella es uno de esos 😒
lol I see your point!
Mexico city is beautiful but Ana is even more beautiful, sorry you got robbed by people that suppose to protect and serve thats really f.. up but look on the bright side, it's gonna be unlimited amount of video material for us and I have special request the doll island I hope you can do it for me
Thanks my friend, I couldn’t believe it as it was happening. Can’t exactly fight back which is frustrating. I’ll look into Doll Island! Thanks for watching ❤️🇲🇽

@@theropemonster we love playa del carmen and Mexican people and we feel they love us too.. never had a bad time there but things happen it's not only in Mexico ♥️
A cop gave you a bad look and you bailed town for it?😂
Not even close to what happened, but nice assumption.
@@theropemonster It was literally what you reported. He rolled up on you, asked you what you were up to, gave you a evil look and drove on. It was at that point in the video that I bailed.
@@theropemonster Was that in a previous "episode?"
@ it was actually the video before that toward the end

so u r annoying the hell out of me for continuing to mis-pronounce my fav nabe in cdmx -
phonetic spelling coo-owh(hint at the H sound)t(soft T)(there is an accent in the E which means u press a little on the ay sound immediately following the soft T and then end with mock - start doing it slow and then speed it up after 100 times slow -
so: coo-owh-tay-mock - hope u got that!!
I wonder how many Mexicans are in my home state mispronouncing Willamette, Terwilliger, Multnomah, Tualitan, and so on 😅😅. Take it easy, I’m working on it lol. Thanks for watching.
