I’m a military brat too my man! Dad was 30 years Army. He was deployed 22 of those 30. Constantly gone. I get it…COMPLETELY! Watching this….brings it all back. Merry Christmas Bro! Have a blessed 2023!
Tears show you are a man, not a boy! Thank you for living through deployments. I served in USAF and never got to experience someone caring if I was home or not.
My parents were Army. My husband was a Marine. My son is currently in the Navy and gets to be home for Christmas this year. I'm so glad to see him for a little while before he deploys again next year. Don't apologize for crying. This is your channel and your real reaction. Thank you!
I spent 8 years in the NAVY and these videos really hit me in the heart. I pray for our military all year as I know their sacrifice. Shout out to the families of our protectors.
My son is in the military. I am in tears right now after viewing this video and your reaction. I work in the public arena and actively seek out veterans to shake their hands and thank them for their service. I thank the spouses as well. It's not much but it is real. Thank you Jarvis for your honest response
My son said when he was in, he couldn't bear to come home because he couldn't stand to leave again. So for all the years he was in we never saw him. We spoke every once in a while, but it hurt him too much. He was a basket case when he got out and came home 6 years later. I really wasn't sure for a while if I would ever see him again. This video is hard to see. Beautiful, but hard.🫂🕯️💙
I’m 65, retired Navy. Traveling is just a part if the job. Coming home is always great. Coming home for the holidays can’t be beat. This video has me reminiscing, and brought tears to my eyes. Being on the receiving end of the hugs is huge, even when it’s the pets going crazy…. Dude, thanks for sharing this, and bringing a meaning to the emotions.
You are loved, Brother. And you are being lifted up in prayer. God, who faithful and who loves you more than any human is capable of, has you in His hand. He won't let you down. Thanks for keeping it real. God bless you.
I’ll never forget the Christmas where we found out my brother was gonna make it home for Christmas so we re wrapped all the gifts so we could have Christmas when he got there.
You're crying for the same reason I do You FEEL it ! I'm a Military brat myself, my Dad never had to be gone Long but it was frequently . I'll tell yah something else, you are right Home Free are Gentlemen and even IF you've never been in the Military The way they sing and the Visuals bridge that gap. Home Free Magic is how they Connect us 1 to another. If you ever see them Live you'll know it's not a concert, it's a Family Reunion party of the best kind. Thanks for Being Awesome Jarvis. I learn something every time you post. Home Fry from WI
I jumped on this reaction so fast when I woke up, because I love your reactions to HF. Good on you for crying, because you probably needed that emotional release right then. This is what happens when HF taps into our memory banks and empathy bones. Hopefully you feel stronger (to deal with what you need to) after this. Don't you just love the power of music?
And thanks for posting your reaction to this video, a lot of guys might not actually post this with all the emotions shown. Bravo for being open to showing that to everyone.
I was an Air Force officer, and I remember volunteering for a 30-day rotation during Christmas and New Year's so the others in my unit could spend the holidays at home. My wife was pregnant with our first and not due until April. She was okay with delaying our Christmas a couple of weeks. I was doing fine not thinking about being away until Christmas Day, when this song came over the intercom. To this day, that song still tugs at my heart at the thought of being absent for the holiday. Homecoming was really nice. She hit all the after Christmas sales, and i took advantage of the gold prices in Saudi Arabia. LOL! Silver linings ... Keep up the good work!
Selfless act and incredible support by your wife. I loved ever bit of this comment. Thanks so much for being you and this comment 🙏🏾😊 happy holidays to you and your family.
I was in Mosul in 2004 with the 67th CSH and I sang that song at midnight on Christmas Eve, in one of the long hallways of our hospital. It gave me such peace being so far from home. I do not know if anyone else heard it but I would like to think some of the injured soldiers that were there heard it and sang with me and felt a little closer to their families.
This song brings out so many feelings in me. Because of the video, but also because of how it is sung. I think Rob has the perfect voice for this song. There is so much warmth and love in his voice. That with the beautiful background vocals makes it so wonderful, so moving. Precisely because not too many techniques have been added. Simple but so powerful.
My dad was in the military for 30 years in the Navy. So, I am use to deployments that are 6+months at a time. You getting emotional reflects on how all of us feel. I don't think any of us can watch videos like that and not feel the emotion, because we've been through it, we know what they are feeling. Sometimes, these reactions are not to be analyzed, but felt. You raw reaction is the best reaction. Good on you, Jarvis.
I am the veteran and I remember coming home to the same reception that these vets here were having. I love Home Free and I love how they are able to express themselves through their vocals. And I appreciate you for being real. Being straight. You're not trying to Puff yourself up just because you're on UA-cam. You're honesty and genuine ality is unmatched by others and I enjoy your reactions. I just pray that God blesses you and your business as as a musician. I write and record songs myself and d8d sing and played with groups for years but I'm just too old to travel now. But I like the way you cover songs and break it down for everybody to understand as far as the general population. But like I said you're real and genuine and I thank you for that as well as Home Free for being also genuine and having beautiful vocals. Merry Christmas to everybody and happy New Year and if I don't see or talk to you just be safe and I'll see you next year.
As a sailor in the US Navy I never got to experience a Homecoming when we came back from our cruise. No one showed up from my family for it and it hurt. Later, much later, as a father of a US Marine we made sure we were there for his graduation from basic, then for both of his homecomings after his two deployments. This video has always been hard to watch because of both experiences. We love your reactions and the lessons you give. I hope your problems get resolved and may you have a very merry Christmas. From two very grateful old folks here in Texas.
It just doesn't get any better than Home Free. Of course the impeccable singing, but also always a great video. I'm a military brat too, and my brother an Army Ranger. 😉🥰🥰
Excellent reaction ❣ I feel everything you are feeling ‼️🤗 as the wife of a disabled veteran Thank you for this❣❣❣ We raised 5 children in the military life and YES it can be very hard, but it's worth it all.❣❤
Again, Home Free, that's how it's done! This was amazing, your reaction was EVERYTHING! Thank you to everyone that has SERVED, especially the families of those that may be missing your loved ones, that are serving, allowing me to be safe, cuddled up with my family, while you might be missing yours! Your service is a sacrifice, and it does not go unnoticed!!! Thank you!!! THANK YOU!!! ❤️
My sister's only daughter is over Seas in the Army Reserves as we speak. Prayers for you. You could relate because of your Dad being in the Military 🪖 So you understand the sacrifice that goes along with that.
You are crying because you are a very good man. I hear you, ours is an AF family. Homecomings are incredible. Take care. Merry Christmas. Thanks for what YOU do. God Bless.
Why am I crying? I always cry at this video and I have no connection to the military. Home Free knows how to touch your heart. Wishing you a happy holiday season.
Dang it, I am crying. what a beautiful video to a classic song. I was married to a sailor, had family members serve our country, many didnt return, including my mothers dad who was drafted when she was 2 years old. so I FEEL this so much..Thank you J for reacting to this.
This reminds me of all my family Christmas gatherings! The arrangement is spectacular! However, the video truly does take me back to all my childhood experiences and memories TY HF
Oh, Jarvis; I'm sending you thanks and a hug. "Emotional for no reason"? Heck no! There's good reason to be emotional! Between the heartwarming images and the amazing vocal performance and arrangement, this is top-notch Home Free. By the way, I have not commented before now, but I want you to know that I have been watching your videos for 2-3 years now, and I want to take this opportunity to say "thank you" - i have learned from and enjoyed your videos a lot - please keep them coming!
I completely forgot to listen to what you were saying, I just want to give you a big hug and tell you that no matter what your struggle is, you are strong, you are appreciated and you are loved.
Thank you for reacting to this Home Free video. I think your reaction was a tribute to what Home Free was trying to say. Words have deeper meanings when put to music and videos can show that.
I love when you react to Home Free. You are one of the most sincere reactors i know of and i appreciate your honest heartfelt reactions. I hope whatever you are going through comes to a satisfactory conclusion for you. If it doesn't then i hope you adjust and accept as quickly and easily as possible. This is a bad time of the year for some people as it is, and added stress from life doesn't help. Take care.
Our thoughts are with you and I don't think there are many who would not catch what you are feeling. There is also the fact that Home Free seems to have a knack for being able to create an atmosphere that gets you dead center in the feels. Happy, sad, comforted, sacred, up to the heavenlies, they inhabit the lyrics and harmonies that moves you in one way or another. They are masters in that. They can just hum and move you to tears, think about Brothers in Arms. I would worry about you if they didn't move you to tears with this performance. Have a Merry Christmas Jarvis and a New Year full of success and happiness.☺🥁
At 81 I'm pretty sick of Xmas music but these guys had me liking it, a huge accomplishment, the arrangement is just killer and thats not to mention how good the video was on top of that.
One of the best renditions of this song. The talent and ability of this group is indescribable. Such beautiful tones and chord progressions. Thank you for this awesome reaction man, made me cry.
When I saw which one you were reviewing, I knew it would probably make you emotional. Thanks for sharing the real you. We Home Fries know our boys are amazing and their work always makes people emotional, whether it's sentimental like this or something humorous. That's why we love them so much. Hang in there and have a wonderful Christmas ⛄⛄🎄🎄
🤗🤗🤗 Hugs to you. You obviously have a big loving heart. The Home Free gentlemen are the same. They are real and KINDRED. That and their amazing artistry can really tug at our emotions. Their dedication and hard work to bring this beauty into our world doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. Love your honest reactions. And knowing this particular song was written for the soldiers in the trenches during World War ll makes it all the more poignant.
My son used to think my husband lived at the airport. My son was 2 when dad was deployed and on tour outside of the states. My son is 12 now and things are different, but still. It was so innocent and happy when he said, oh, yay, we are going to see daddy at the airport. That was a tough one for his dad to hear. It’s a hard life. My hubs retires this year. We’ve hung in there with him all this time because the love is there. We have 25 years together coming up. It’s going to be a celebration this summer with retirement. Oh, yeah, I also love home free. They’re my favorite. But somehow that fact has become an aside to this comment altogether. I’m sorry!! Thank you for reacting to them again. They are the real deal. I’ll check out your other channels, too, as I’m also a musician. We got all kinds of things going on over at my house.
Congrats on 25 years. It's definitely hard shout out to you for holding it down. Appreciate you. Sending love and holiday cheer to you and your family 🙏🏾
Most honest and heartfelt reaction. The respect paid in the video speaks to the heart of gentle men who created it. Your reaction speaks to yours. A great reminder to all of us.
This is hard for me to watch because my youngest daughter spent 14 years in the military (left due to a medical problem) where, 8 of those years were overseas. She spent Christmas by herself, and now that she's been honorably discharged and living back home, or about 4 1/2 hrs away, she is again spending Christmas alone. I was going to visit her, but thanks (sarcasm) to the horrible weather we are getting, the drive would be too dangerous. I understand the numerous members of the military that will not be home for the holidays, and my heart aches for them. I guess it's because she's so close, yet, weatherwise, so far away. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song by HF. Have a very wonderful holiday season! Merry Christmas!
it's a thing that you won't know unless you're in it. Sending you all love happy holidays! Hopefully you'll get to see her after the weather clears up. 😊😊
You are not the only reactor to have an emotional response, don't feel bad at all - you are human, too. If there was ever a group to suggest we listen to the background, HF is it. They have lovely arrangements; that build up to the wonderous harmony in the first verse is magnificent. They do slight dissonance so well, and their timing of the resolutions is spot on. And Tim's bass in this is not intrusive, but just right. It' snice to see Adam adding his voice so we get full 5 part harmony, too. Chris Rupp just released his reminiscences of making this yesterday - you might be interested in watching that. I'm sorry you are having a hard time right now, go watch Grandma Got Run Over or Brother - even Make you Feel My Love - they will cheer you up a bit.
No worries brother this song hits home for a lot of people I myself come from a very big military family all my uncles and my dad including 4 of my siblings and myself served coming home was always special. Have a blessed day friend.
First Off...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!!! As a retired military man with 9 deployments... they were hard... especially Hard after my kids were born! Now a request... FFDP Gone Away and/or Wrong Side of Heaven! We Owe the military vets who are struggling Soooo Much!!!!
I love this song and needless to say Home Free’s version is beyond compare. I loved what you said about how to listen at the beginning. I also loved your reaction when you saw the theme. May The Lord bless all those families and may He bless you.
Chills all over. They hit straight to the heart. I was a military wife with my husband deployed through a lot of holidays. I love that they love our military. Thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.
Jarvis, love you bro (no homo) but that was sincerely heartfelt, and yes my eyes teared up when you were chatting about being a military brat yourself. Yes I loved this arrangement,,,,it's in a late big band era style.....just amazing. Hope all is well by now in your life !!!
Bro! You've overlooked an epic one! Home Free and the Oakridge Boys singing Elvira! This ticks all the boxes for you! They give you multiple key changes, plus a half time! (Yeah, I watch your vids and take notes! 😉) Definitely reaction-worthy!
Apologize for what? For being a freaking human being? No no my friend. Thank you for not only sharing your musical expertise, but for also sharing your ❤. Merry Christmas one and all.
@@DrummingwithJarvis I understand completely. I hope your days get better and you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here we come 2023 ready or not 🥰
Thank you for such a beautiful heart felt reaction. Home Free will never leave you feeling "Meh, it was ok." They will always take you on a journey. I hope that whatever issues are happening in your life come around your way. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! 🎄❤
I hope that you get through the rough times. I appreciate your reactions and I understand the tears, I cry every time I see this one. It is Home Free's super power that they can make us feel deeply with every song. They are releasing another Christmas song this Friday at noon central time that will not make us cry. Blessings to you for a better New Year.
Oh such a good reaction. This song does it to me too. It was written for soldiers in WWII. Bless your father for his service. I have a grandfather, father, brother and nephew who served. So proud of them. Love this song. Those harmonies by the boys are tremendous. Rob sounds wonderful. Have a wonderful Christmas! 🥰
God bless you...speaking about the message in the video by talking about your personal experience, and taking the time to speak to people on a personal level is much appreciated. My son is a Marine, so while I can't relate to life on a base, or being a child of someone in the military, the worry and anticipation I've felt about my son was sometimes overwhelming. I love all your reactions to Home Free, and this was a beautiful one. I wish you a Merry Christmas and an absolutely wonderful and blessed new year. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face, especially when I didn't think it was possible. ❤️
Kristi this just made me tear up again! The entire reason I do this is to provide some type of an escape through music for you all. Thank you for your kind words sending love, care and holiday cheer to you and your family. Sounds like you're going through some stuff as well, which I can empathize with. Always find a reason to smile even when you don't feel like it. 😊🙏🏾 Thanks for being you!
thank you. i lived through this type of thing thru Nam and all the wars since - sons, daughters, uncles, husbands, and moms coming home to their families who have been waiting and praying.
Jarvis, we miss you! #HomeFree has put out so many great videos that you need to see. We miss seeing you cover them. ❤ Love this beautiful, heartfelt song and this video!! Tugs at my heartstrings every time. Tissues needed for sure. Thx for sharing and being vulnerable. I pray things are better and send warm wishes for a Merry Christmas!
Man, I love your reactions, but this was special. Thank you for being real and showing genuine emotions. It's rare these days. Not sure what you have going on, but thoughts and prayers going out to you, and hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
Frog Leap Studios - Hello I've seen a lot of reactors react to his covers, but most of them are singers who focus more on his vocals. I think you will better appreciate his incredible talents as a multi instrumentalist.
I’m a military brat too my man! Dad was 30 years Army. He was deployed 22 of those 30. Constantly gone. I get it…COMPLETELY! Watching this….brings it all back. Merry Christmas Bro! Have a blessed 2023!
yesss! Rough times and a lot of moving parts that most people aren't aware of. Sending love and holiday cheer to you and your family 😊😊😊
Your dad's a good man in my comrade. Tell him I said thank you for his service.
No one like HF!!!! Absolutely no one! They always hit you in the feels!!

I have always been a harmony and background lover, as well as the lead !
yesss!
One of the best renditions of this song. The talent and ability of this group is indescribable. Such beautiful tones and chord progressions. Thank you for this awesome reaction man, made me cry.
They make you feel every emotion! 🇺🇸
I'm glad you knew i would get emotional because for sure DID NOT 🤣 Happy Holidays 😊😊😊🙏🏾
Thank you for this reaction! God bless you and yours! ✌🏻😎👍🎄❤️
Oo! I second that reaction idea! That one is fun and Tim's notes in it are crazy how he just plummets all the way down like it's nothing
well said than you
No worries brother this song hits home for a lot of people I myself come from a very big military family all my uncles and my dad including 4 of my siblings and myself served coming home was always special. Have a blessed day friend.
Jarvis, I don't know you personally but I want you to know that you are loved and respected! Keep your head up and continue forward. God bless!
OMG.. it's June... I'm in tears.. they hit my heart.. love it
Prayers for you!
Don't worry, I was crying right there with you. God bless our soldiers and their families.
😊🙌🏽 Thanks Dawn!
You’re crying because you are a precious person. Love your reactions and explaining the nuances of music. Merry Christmas!!!
You hear exactly what my hubby hears and gets excited about ❤
Chills all over.
You were right! Listening to the background singers and Adam warmed me up! WOW! They were amazing!! Wonderful reaction, thanks🎉 I love Home Free😊
Apologize for what? For being a freaking human being? No no my friend. Thank you for not only sharing your musical expertise, but for also sharing your ❤. Merry Christmas one and all.
I appreciate that! I always feel bad for deviating from the reason you all are watching 🤦🏽♂️ Merry Christmas to you too! 😊
Oh Jarvis - I love your reactions and more than that I love that you show your heart. Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🎄🎅🍟
Merry Christmas, Jarvis, and bless you. I cried all the way through too, HF is so damned good at tugging your heartstrings. Gotta love those guys.

Couldn't agree more! Thanks so much 😊 Merry Christmas
You can get karaoke version by being a HOME FREE PATRON.
I would love to see you reaction to Home Frees “Sea Shanty Medley”!
Merry Christmas!
Same to you!
thank you. i lived through this type of thing thru Nam and all the wars since - sons, daughters, uncles, husbands, and moms coming home to their families who have been waiting and praying.
Have a blessed Christmas 🎄 ❤
They are great at music but also making us feel.
Jarvis, we miss you! #HomeFree has put out so many great videos that you need to see. We miss seeing you cover them. ❤
Love this beautiful, heartfelt song and this video!!
I appreciate that.Things will be better soon just riding this wave and focusing on the things I can control. Thank you so much. Happy Holidays 😊😊😊😊
Frog Leap Studios - Hello
I've seen a lot of reactors react to his covers, but most of them are singers who focus more on his vocals. I think you will better appreciate his incredible talents as a multi instrumentalist.
I just want to hear you react to all of Home Free! I appreciate your knowledge and the way you describe what they are doing. ♥️
Beautiful video, amazing and heartfelt reaction. Thank you.
Thank youuuu 😊
