One of the greatest (and loudest) race cars that I have ever heard (not including dragsters) was at Brands Hatch in England. This was many years ago before I moved to Canada. It was a 1.5 ltr BRM F1 car. Probably built in 1952. It had a V-16 engine, double supercharged running on alcohol. Estimated 600 hp. It was a demo run with Stirling Moss at the wheel. You could here that engine when the car was at the far side of the track, just screaming. The sound was similar to the V-10's and 12's of modern times around the 1990's, Ferrari etc. Just amazing. Great video of course.

All I ask for next time is PLEASE include the names and or drives of the cars? I know its a lot of work but I would love to be able to reference considering I am not extremely knowledgable about race related cars.. Keep up the good work. Liked/Subbed
best thing to do with these type of videos is to turn off the lights turn off the screen close your eyes lean back on your chair, set the back rest to recline and enjoy the beauty of all these engines without having any bias

Great video 19Bozzy92! In the second clip of the DFV-powered F1 cars (starting at 24:36), it looks like there's a black JPS-sponsored Lotus-Honda in the last few seconds of the clip. I know of only one black F1 car of that time, and it was the Lotus-Honda with the turbo V6 (Senna, Mansell, de Angelis all drove those)

+JC B Actually it's very similar to the road going Mezger found in the 997 GT3 & GT3RS street cars. In fact many homlogated racing GT3s have less HP than the street cars (de-tuned via restrictors for BoP purposes)

The Z4 GT3 is my favourite out of all the GT3s. The sound it makes really tingles at your spine.
