Hey guys! Today I decided to make one of my MOST requested dishes - RAMEN! I hope you enjoyed it even though this recipe has a lot of preparation! In Japan Ramen is a very quick meal you can eat ANYWHERE - which made me wonder - what is the typical ‘fast food’ in your country?
For France, we go for sandwich (with a really crunchy baguette), you can add a lot of things either cold or hot :) and it's easy to bring to any outside activity as well.
Champ, this is a great video. Thank you for sharing. And I have to say how much I love your positive attitude. There is nothing fake about it. I am looking forward to more in the months and years to come. Do watch out for that Risottoro guy though. He is such a troublemaker…
What I love about this channel is how you're so considerate and give ingredients that can be found worldwide, not exclusive to Japan. But I only realized now that you also give recipes in description and they are very clear and detailled. You're the best, thank you. So nice !
Thank you for this recipe, you can’t get good ramen in Honduras. I’m a big fan from Honduras and I’ve been learning Japanese cuisine thanks to your channel. Japanese is one of the best cuisines in the world and I’m happy I can make it at home now.
I'm a HUGE Asian noodle fan and Ramen is my ultimate favorite. What seems difficult to make you've done an Awesome job showing an easy step-by-step process of creating delicious Ramen. I can't wait to do it for myself. I love your personality and how you bring excitement to cooking.
Thank you for showing an easy way to make Ramen! All the videos I have seen on UA-cam before are pretty complicated and take 2 or more days to make but this seems doable. THANK YOU! You are the best!
I've made ramen before and it was a lot of work, but as always, you make amazing dishes look really simple to make at home. Keep the recipes coming and I'll keep making them, Champ!
Lots of people try to do ramen but you simply can't beat a Japanese to it. This was simple and it had everything that matters done right. Umami bomb from the niboshi and konbu, char siu done right, ajitama. I bet this still gives a nice feeling as a long cooked and more complicated ramen. I think the only thing that could've been added was an aroma oil (shallot/chicken oil), otherwise nice job.
Wow sooo good ! I live in France but i managed to find all the ingredients, i did it tonight, it was amazing ! Thank you for sharing this amazing quick and easy recipe ! Love from France
I never would've guessed that shio broth contains chicken! Looks delicious, I'll have to try this...maybe with fresh noodles too. I really appreciate the detailed instructions in the video description. Thanks Champ!
This looks so GOOD! I will definitely try making this the next time it's my turn to cook dinner. My family loves ramen. Thank you so much for this recipe!!
Always love watching the healthy dishes but what really got me in this one was.....the champ is really a champ!? I thought he was just like a master chef and so he was a "champion chef" or something. Really surprising
I have always been really intimidated to even think about attempting to make Ramen at home, so i never did it lol. But this recipe seemed so doable:D I think ill give it a try on the weekend! Thanks Champ!!
thanks man, not only is this video excelently made, it shows the amount of thought you put into it, thanks for your hard work, i hope i could honor it with a great bowl of ramen
Ramen is a dish worth mastering. It requires too much preparation to just do it one time or once a year. But when you master it you can have one or two bowls per week at minimum effort and it's totally worth it
Perfect video Champ! Beautiful clear instructions, easy to follow across the globe. Looking forward to taking my family to Japan again once travel opens up, but recipes like this remind me of the fantastic memories of Tokyo!
You really add nice recipe ! I was a little bit worried to try start making ramen but your recipe is quite simple compared to what I've seen. It boost me to try it ! Thanks !
This is a good first recipe for anyone interested in making their own ramen. All of you who are interested beware that the effort grows from here on. For all ramen nerds and people that have a deeper interest in ramen here's some pointers. Generally ramen consists of 5 major components. 1. Broth (Base) 2. Tare (Taste) 3. Aroma Oil (Smell) 4. Toppings 5. Noodles 1. Broth A broth is mostly made from bones. Extracting the flavour from these bones takes 8 hours of straight cooking. Our champs uses a hack by using minced meat. The flavour can be extracted much much faster, severly cutting down on cookin time. Which is a great idea. 1.1 Dashi Previous to cooking the minced meat our champion soaks kombu and niboshi. Making a dashi. As a rule of thumb: A dashi is a stock made from ingridients from the sea. It can be used for tares and broths. 2. Tare A tare is a sauce that gives taste and flavor to the broth. There are three types of tares: Shio (Salt), Shoyu (Soy Sauce) and Miso (Miso paste). Our champion does not make a dedicated tare. Instead he uses the dashi together with salt to make a tare workaround. So the broth, tare and dashi combine the two first points into one. Greatly cutting down on cokking time and possible food waste. 3. Oil The aroma oil give smell to the ramen. It also stick to the noodles, while slurping making the noodles even tastier. Here no oil is used, but it is more of a final touch than strictly necessary. If you want to add some aroma oil you can use: Sesame oil, chilli oil or some rendered pork or chicken fat. 4. Toppings The toppings presented in this video are great and you will not find the need to alter them. You can marinate the egg for up to 4 days. This makes the ajitama even tastier. 5. Noodles Making a guide for ramen noodles would be alot of effort. You should buy them if you can. If, however, you have no access to ramen noodles you can use some spaghetti and cook them with some baking soda for a similar effect. Overall this recipe is a great start and I'd love it if it motivates anyone to get into ramen. Above are some general ideas of the components of what makes ramen ramen. I'd also love to see if our champion would make a full fledged ramen =)
I will have to look up some of your matches. I'm getting more and more into martial arts and food. Going for my 2nd kyuu brown belt in just over a week.
Champ, I would love to see what you can do with an air fryer. If you could make japanese fried food with an air frier and make it tasty, that would be amazing. Super healthy!!
I love your videos so much, they are very educational and easy to follow. I already made the gyudon based on your video and tonight I will attempt the oyakodon. Please keep giving us your amazing recipes!
I’ve watched a lot of ramen videos looking for an authentic and practical recipe and so far this is the best one. Too many videos overload on preparation, throw too many ingredients in a bowl, or are a little too unambitious for me. This has just the right balance and I can see it gives great results. Personally, I love miso/chicken ramen and would love to see a recipe based on that! You can make a lot of content with just ramen! The world of ramen is so vast 😎🍜 お疲れ様
Heya Sensei!! Your videos are really comprehensive with a bit of humor mixed in. I believe you deserve much much more subscribers! Good luck and best wishes!
Just discovered this channel thanks to UA-cam’s algorithm. It did contain the elements I loved - boxing, cooking Japanese food, a funny and nice Japanese guy. Ryosuke san can you cook tenshindon next time? It’s one of my favorite Japanese dish and I really want to watch you cooking it! Thanks for considering it.
This was GREAT! so that's how you make them tamagos, eh? Everything looks super oishi! If I ever get to Japan I want to go on a ramen and okonomiyaki crawl. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. Sigh. Great video. I watched Harumi Kurihara on NHK's Your Japanese Kitchen. I finally learned how to make oishi gohan.

For the US, Burgers. customizable, portable and can be eaten anywhere. Also, can you show us how to make chankonabe?
For France, we go for sandwich (with a really crunchy baguette), you can add a lot of things either cold or hot :) and it's easy to bring to any outside activity as well.
Belguim, so of course fries!
Champ, this is a great video. Thank you for sharing. And I have to say how much I love your positive attitude. There is nothing fake about it. I am looking forward to more in the months and years to come. Do watch out for that Risottoro guy though. He is such a troublemaker…
Here in Hamburg - Germany, fish (pickled) in a bun is typical
What I love about this channel is how you're so considerate and give ingredients that can be found worldwide, not exclusive to Japan.
But I only realized now that you also give recipes in description and they are very clear and detailled. You're the best, thank you.
So nice !
Pls keep the videos coming.
He also provides alternatives.
One of the few UA-cam chefs I've seen not throw a million ingredients into a dish. Thanks for keeping it simple.
This is a simple ramen but it can get much much more complex than this and sometimes seen as a standard for average ramen shops
I was just thinking how difficult ramen could be, your recipe seems doable and delicious. Thank you for sharing!
The ramen egg part deserve its own video, even most restaurant screw it up (at least here in EU...). Love your content.
It would be so cool if Ryosuke visited Chris Broad’s retro ramen shop to make some fresh ramen!!
OMG yes!
Chris and Ryosuke should each cook a Ramen (cup noodles in case of Chris) and make blind tasting competition for their friends.
Oh, YES to this.
That's a good idea! Maybe someday we'll do that;)
I never would have guessed that you could use chicken mince to get the flavour into the stock so fast but it makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
That tip about warming the bowl is great
I love how you always end with washing dishes. It shows how humble you are, it's amazing.
I love the way he compliments his own food
Toll dass du dein Wissen und Können weitergibst .
Ich hab durch deine Videos so vieles lernen können.
